Character Sheet Help

For skills, the basis is 1 for 1, if you want 20 in a skill, you spend 20 points.

And lastly, with your money, here's the costs for buying things.

Thanks ^^ That really helps me :)

Could someone look over my character sheet to make sure I haven't done anything wrong?

You're missing your housing as far as I can tell.

Also, my personal preference. Centering the text like that, makes any extensive amount of text really bothersome to read, what are you trying to do with it? If you want it in the middle, I can make you a box to put the text in, like so:
Image
Khaled's only constant companion on his journey is the horse Nidal, named so because of his violent temper, although he is one of the most gentle creatures around Khaled, the stallion abandon any and all sense of gentleness with others.

A little note, all colors for the box are completely changeable, so it can be made to look as if there is no box at all, the text will simply sit in the middle of the post.

As I said, this is just personal preference, so feel free to ignore it if you disagree.

Character Sheet Help

Postby Krauss on September 15th, 2011, 2:18 am

Thank God for the option to exchange the horse/house option in the starting package for extra money. It's very hard to equip a mercenary with the base 100 gm.

I had one question on weapon skills, but other than that, Krauss Muhe-Jager is ready for someone important to look through and make sure I didn't screw up anywhere. The primary weapon style I wanted was the Spear/Shield style used in ancient Greece and Sparta. Would that fall under the general "Spear" skill, or would it be its own fighting style, since the heavy spears would require different training to use in one hand?

EDIT

I lied, I have two questions. I was looking over the blacksmithing skill. How would it work for repairing gear instead of making it from scratch? I would assume that it would be a lot easier, but would it actually make a difference in gameplay, or would it just be a faster, cheaper option than replacing broken gear?

Character Sheet Help

Krauss: I would say it is in its own category.((I am saying this with a intelligent opinion, that’s all I have.)) It’s kind of like a two handed sword and a short sword. They are both swords but they have different skills. I know it’s an extreme example, but it has the same kind of concept. A guy with a short sword would have trouble using a longsword and vice versa, while a guy with greek spear would have trouble with a regular spear. Now, I am doing this as if they are two different kind of weapons. If you are using the same spear as a regular spearman would, than it would be in the same skill set as spear because the skill groups are based on weapons not fighting styles. We don’t have any tumbling shortsword weapon skills. :P

I would also say it could become a cheaper way to replace your equipment. It all really depends on your blacksmith skill. Talk to your Ds about it, they will be able to give you a definite answer.

Karis: I see no problems but you didn’t list anywhere you had the healing gods mark. I know you have it((Ss thread)) and it says so in your history but maybe put it under your possessions. Also if you do it would be nice if you say 1 or level 1 by the gnosis so people know she has only been marked one time.

Tabithia: This is a personal preference, but for your lores be more specific. Instead of saying: Lore of Fish Names (Starting Package), Lore of Fish Properties (Starting Package) say Lore of Zeltevia Fish Names (Starting Package), Lore of Zeltevia Fish Properties (Starting Package). Remember it’s like a real ocean, certain fish appear in some places that other fish don’t.

Character Sheet Help

Postby Xalet on September 20th, 2011, 10:41 pm

I went through a few peoples things, and here's what I saw.

Karis: You didn't list your languages. I'd say that's the number 1 most forgotten thing in new character sheets, heck I had forgotten mine when I made my character sheet. You get up to three, one fluent, one basic, and one poor.

Krauss: You could probably call it "snake spear skill" and be just fine, since that's what you bought. You don't put points into a 'style' though, you put points into a skill and make your style from there. Meaning you can't put points into "snake spear and shield" as a skill. You'd need to put points into "snake spear" and points into "shield". Also I see you've got points in "sword". They generally want you to be more specific, since you bought a gladius (just like Xalet!) put points in "gladius".

If you look at Xalet, he uses a style of gladius and large shield, along with unarmed techniques. For it I had to put points into "gladius", "shield", and "unarmed".
