Younger brother to Samuel Redtide, Alex has always been the joker of the family, keeping the morale high when times are tough; though that never stopped him from doing his work on the ship, whether it was repairs, fishing, or general cleanup. He was very close to his brother, and saw him as a model for a good life. His life was mundane until his brother left and wasn't heard from. Now, though he keeps his carefree attitude, his goal is to find his brother, whether he is dead or alive.

While not completely jacked by any means, Alex has the well toned and slightly built physique of someone who has spent years working at sea. Light, dirty blonde hair, with a tendency to be messy and swept to the side, falls over the sea-blue eyes that mark him a a Svefra. His shoulders and pectorals are wide and muscled, slightly more so than most of his body from extensive swimming and lifting. He spends most of his time at sea shirtless, only fully clothing himself when he pulls into port for supplies. Alex keeps himself clean shaven, not out of inability to grow a beard, but out of personal preference. He tends to dislke the scratchy feeling of hair on his face. He keeps himself almost impeccably clean most of the time, so as to give an appearance of class to his race.

Alexander is the second of three children: his older brother is called Samuel, and his younger sister is called Lorelei. He was born of Ross and Evalyna Redtide in the Summer of 494av on a relatively calm day. He led a rather uneventful life. He really just participated in the normal activities of the ship, which was a decent sized Palivar named "Laviku's lover". Their pod consisted of another Palivar and several smaller Casinor that generally sailed and made port together. Though it sounds ominous, the name Redtide only stemmed from the fact that the entire clan had carnivorous Tavan that made them over hunt regions sometimes if they stayed in an area for too long. Because of that they moved around the Suvan quite a bit, sometimes even venturing into the larger oceans, though not often. Alex's only real concern while he was young was to be like his older brother Sam; who he practically revered then. When he was five his younger sister was born and his attention was then split. He became fiercely protective of his little sister when she was bullied by some of the other kids in the pod; they would often go away with bloody noses and blacked eyes. Whenever Alex wasn't working on the ship, or with Sam, he was with Lorelei. At the age of ten, he found his Tavan. a male Orca named Kellan, who was three years old at the time. At ten years old, he still has not yet reached maturity and is only about eighteen feet long. At the age of fifteen he was branded with an image of their Parisa: a rather large representation of a hammerhead shark on his back. It's head is resting on his shoulder blades, and it's tail is at the base of his spine. A season after he got his pod tattoo his brother left without telling anyone where he was going. No one found it as odd that he just packed some supplies and left. The comfort of everyone else didn't stop Alex from having a rather ominous feeling that something bad had happened to his brother. Two years later he had been passed a Casinor from one of the older pod members, and he plans on sailing the Suvan to find his brother. Little does he know that he's going to have a tag-along.

Alex also carries steel cutlass with a simple handguard, bearing Alex's full name etched on the blade. It was given to him by his brother when he turned 15.

For housing, Alex has a small Casinor with a widened cabin made to sleep two, thus it carries only 200 lbs of cargo. He carries a fishing pole and a fishing net on his ship for acquiring food.
