Soon enough, Rykanis had her returning his smile, a coy grin on her face. Rykanis simply smiled back, his usual engendering grin, which he almost always wore. To him smiling was the easiest expression, as he truly was happy usually. Though not usually from what others assumed he was smiling for. Sometimes it was for being happy, talking to someone, as it meant questing after a secret. Sometimes, he was simply smiling, at some internal thought. Or even smiling at the fact of how funny he thought the entire thing was, or at one of his own words, filled with double meaning. Smiling at the fact that if they knew what he knew, his words, and theirs likely, would open up to a entire new depth of meaning. That was what made his smile so effective, so real, and so engendering. For in fact, it was real, even if its source was unknown or hidden in shadow. For Rykanis, even a thing as simple as a smile, was immersed in deeper meaning, in shadows and secrets. As she repeated her own words, doubting his honesty, Rykanis simply grinned even wider. She was the observant sort wasn't she? Or perhaps just as suspicious as he was... It was hard to tell, why she did not take what he said as true at its face. "Yes, I am sure. The only person I have met was you, and I certainly had no arrangements to meet you before know, or anyone else here today." In this case, Rykanis' smile was fueled, by his own little secret, his half truth. He thought it was hilarious, that he was being completely honest, while still hiding his true purpose. And of course, he would not call a shadow a person. While they were certainly alive, they were different from a person, though the distinction was hard to explain, to someone not marked by Akajia. "Certainly, I would love to accompany you on your walk. A favorite spot you say? I am sure that would be interesting." Rykanis popped up before Naeya had a chance to offer her hand, and simply motioned for her to lead on. The real purpose of why he wanted to accompany her, to learn more of her, to possibly find a valuable bit of intel, hidden in his statement, left unsaid. |
