Everstone Forest
Early afternoon
40th day ofWinter, 512 AV
The sun beats down on Laioath as he walks the untamed stone jungle. Holding an old, long, died out branch in on hand, he lurches past rocks and trees. His reason for being in an unforgiving location is because he’s searching for something that a dear family member lost. He heard the whereabouts of this item from a stranger. The stranger claims, He was a student that when on one of his sister’s explorations to collect exotic ingredients for alchemy. Laioath’s sister, Carline, was about to reach to grab a plant but slipped, and her bag dropped. She manages to get her footing, as well as her bag, but a copy of her grimoire fell out. The book fell somewhere in between a distinct rock that vaguely looked like a tiger, or a large feline. The grimoire was Laioath’s target, and the reason he’s trekking through the area.
As Laioath walks along the stony path, he feels somewhat lonely without Earnis, his doll companion. Instead he has a handmade one, which he made himself. He continues walking till he spots a large tree. Almost deprived of energy he makes his way to it, seeking shelter from the sun. Upon reaching the tree he places his back against the trunk, and slumps down, rubbing his back along the way. He sits and stares through gaps in the trees branches. He sees the blue sky with streaks of clouds, some formed animals, while others made an interesting shape. Laioath leans forward and removes his backpack, then flops back against the tree. He opens his bag and begins searching for his water skin. Shifting items around his bag, he spots what he was looking for, and places the bag next to him. He removes the seal and begins drinking, the water was slightly warm from the heat, but he didn’t mind.
Laioath relaxes a bit under the shade of the tree, taking a small break from the search. He closes his eyes, and takes a small nap to regain his energy. Everything seems okay, then suddenly… Snap… a stick broke. Laioath opens his eyes. He turns his head in every direction, trying to pinpoint where the stick broke. He becomes cautious as he slowly stands up, picking up his bag and placing it on his back. He walks backwards towards a rock wall, keeping his perceptions sharp. He reaches that walk. Laioath uses the rock wall as a way to prevent whatever he’s facing from sneaking behind him. With his back secured, he looks left and right in a sweeping motion. He adopts a defensive stance, and begins to roll up his sleeve, revealing a leather sheath wrapped to his wrist. He was ready to defend against whatever’s out there.

OOCAlthough he's in a defensive stance and is prepared, he doesn't know that the top of the rock-wall is flat. you can choose to surprise him there, or you can be more creative
