Trialing The Opposites

Postby Luradin on April 7th, 2013, 11:25 am

Seeing the huge creature leap over the rock Luradin knew that he must get the upper-hand somehow, but it was almost impossible against the defensive stance of Gruul.

Scanning the environment there were a few trees but most would allow Gruul to see Luradin climb up them. One tree was quite close to Luradin and as far as he could see it would not allow Gruul to spot him as he clambered up into it's branches.

Taking a light-footed run up to the tree, Luradin hurled himself up at it and gripped a branch that was jutting out to one side. Gripping the branch with one hand Luradin threw himself around the trunk and to the opposite side, placing the trunk between Gruul and himself for cover. he gripped any branches that were on this side of the trunk and the sides and scraped he feet on the bark quietly to push himself up higher in the tree.

Finding a branch with some leaves growing further down it Luradin poked his head out just underneath it, his head was almost invisible under the shade of the matted leaves.

Trialing The Opposites

Postby Gruul on April 7th, 2013, 11:33 am

Gruul couldn't help but hear the little scamp run off, following the direction he ran off to until losing focus on him. Gruul however stayed still, his brown fur the only feature about him that could be described as moving.

The Jamoura's beady eyes where set on something however, as to what he was looking at was unknown for this time. His smug smirk was still present on his gentle visage, and his long arms where bent at the elbows over his rock hard knees.

Trialing The Opposites

Postby Luradin on April 7th, 2013, 11:46 am

Luradin was still suspended in the tree and when his opponent did not make any move he frowned in curiosity. His arms were in quite a straight shape and his legs were placed quite naturally on two more branches that were underneath him. He leaned his body against the trunk and his head hung more lazily down underneath the branch.

He let his arms hang loosely down at his sides, making sure that they were still concealed by the trunk, so that he could conserve energy in them just a little bit. He was not sure how this fight would go about because the Jamoura way of combat seemed quite drawn out and passive.

Luradin's hand was quite loose around his sai and his index finger was curled over the hilt to stop it sliding through his lax fingers.

Trialing The Opposites

Postby Gruul on April 7th, 2013, 12:07 pm

Gruul closed his eyes for a moment, his breathing slowing down and each inhale and exhale sounding like a stroke of wind passing through a deep passage. He remained in this position and leant his head down, his lower lip curling downwards and his hair continuing to blow in the calm sea breeze.

For a moment, all that could be heard was the Jamoura's heavy breathing, and a sudden serenity fell over the area. The wind breezing through the trees and the distance crashes of the Suvan sea hitting upon the coast, a beautiful example of mid-spring.

Trialing The Opposites

Postby Luradin on April 7th, 2013, 12:33 pm

Out of lack of happening Luradin grew bored, extremely bored. Though it was quite obviously not a good idea he dropped the ten feet spanning him and the ground and landed with little care in terms of stealth. The impact of the floor tipped Luradin over as he had taught his body to allow and he stopped touching the floor for a few moments and he rolled through the air, his upper back touched the ground and he rolled back up to his feet.

Luradin walked carefully over to he large rock that held the gorilla and leaned down to pick up his sai as he go to it. Sheathing his secondary sai that he picked up he broke into a run up the slant of the rock-face and used his hand to grip a hold of a slight ridge. Pulling himself on top of the rock he crouched at it's tip and held his sai up in readiness.

Battle resolve eroded at the sight of the huge sleeping gorilla and Luradin sheathed his sai. he sat down on-top of the rock and laid down onto his side in the curve in it's uppermost part, he relaxed his body and allowed himself to drift into a light snooze.

Moderator Intervention:

I'm sorry, but as it is currently written I cannot grade this thread. Whilst the fight appears interesting, leaving out that there is no location specified, what is being done is well outside the skill ranges of both participants. In his beginning post, Gruul crouched and closed his eyes, and then while his eyes were closed knew exactly when Luradin was coming and strafed sideways just in time to avoid the attack, despite having no experience in Blind Fighting at all. Luradin knew exactly where to jump and planned exactly where he was going to land, as well as precisely latching onto Gruul's body, despite being only a novice in Acrobatics. The transfer of Flux early on in the thread as well happens too quickly and accurately for someone with only five points of experience.

This is referred to as Godmodding here on Mizahar, and isn't allowed. If your characters were at the very least expert, if not master, of all these skills then I could see this fight happening. You have to build up your characters to that point though, and currently they are not there.

If you fix this thread or write another one with this in mind, please submit it to my office so I can grade it. Read the Lore thoroughly, then PM me if you have any more questions.
