On the docks [Ariann]

It's an ordinary Spring afternoon, but, for the Syliras male, it feels sweltering. 'Where's the rain, the cold, the imminent flooding?' He finds himself wondering, although it's only a background thought, as he dashes towards the docks, loud, thumping footsteps proceeding the fairly broad, tall male, standing at a good six foot five, anyone that doesn't get out of his way is either barreled past or over, where he can't get round people. He calls out in a forced gruff tone as he runs, "Coming through! Make way!" As he dashes through, he soon finds himself not far from his patient - a plain looking sailor, brown eyes, light blonde hair, he's sat there clutching at his leg, which appears to be making something a bloody mess on the ground.

He crouches down beside him, tearing a decent chunk of fabric from his top, before he moves it towards the mans mouth. He's sitting up, cursing and yelling with the pain - apparently it got jammed between the boat and the dock wall when he wasn't paying attention. "Open your mouth, bite down on this." He says simply, trying to put it into his mouth afterwards, not deep enough to block his airway or anything silly. Fortunately, the break appears to be broken, but, upon inspection, it's non-displaced, although it's still possible it could be a compound break, despite the leg not looking quite that badly crushed. He makes a mental note to keep this in mind, saying rather loudly, for anyone around to hear. "I need a long piece of wood, or something similarly tough, if not more so. Needs to be at least half a meter long. Right now, find me something like that, if you would." He says without looking away from his patient.

This done, he moves to pour water onto the wound, to clean it a little, before using simple, clean, high quality thread to stitch up the wound to the best of his ability, murmuring his silly sounding incantation - "Handus, steadius!" - and giving a similarly silly looking flick of his wrists, his eyes closed, to help himself focus his control over the Flux, easing the tension in his hands, leaving them shake free after a few moments, and himself ready to operate, neat, slow stitches with the fine thread, sewing up the wound.

This done, he relaxes his Flux energy, allowing his hands to return to normal - no real risk involved there. He now puts more of his Djed into his mind, focusing on the mans aura, giving his sight more energy to work with, thus making his view of the mans aura stronger, stronger still as he focuses on it, until he can make out that yes, indeed, the bone if broken, but not crushed or displaced, a clean break. He now waits on someone to return with a suitable splint for him to use, and sits back, a little tired out after all the running, Flux control, then insight from his Auristics usage.

On the docks [Ariann]

Postby Ariann on May 23rd, 2013, 5:08 pm

Ariann had found herself sitting nearby when the 'doctor' flew past, just about knocking her over with the gust of wind that followed in his wake. She looked over at him with emerald green eyes, curiously watching the man work on the patient a few dozen paces away. She had been preparing herself to leave the city, having gathered seaweed and crafted a strangely woven basket out of the seagrass. When the doctor flew by, she had been working on crafting bowls from a small piece of coral she had fished from the sea.

Ariann wore a simple white cotton shirt and a pair of baggy brown pants, both of which were at least six sizes too big and yet held onto her lithe frame using a bit of hemp rope. Ariann's head had seven strangely shaped fins that jutted out of her forehead like hair and shaped around the back of her head. Occasionally, one of the fins would move much like an arm of an octopus as it reached for something and brought it into Ariann's hands.

When the call for wood pierced the quiet, Ariann looked around for a bit, spotting a plank that had been floating nearby in the water. Her eyes lit up as she forced herself off the pier, diving into the water below and surfacing a ways away. The force of the water had stripped the overly large pants and shirt off her form, but Ariann didn't seem to realize this as she grabbed the wooden plank that was still soaked with water after drifting for a day or three and began to swim back towards Aleron, wiggling her way through the water the way a fish might. Aleron would notice that her arms and heels had small dorsal fins that jutted out from the sides of her body and gave her an easy way to slip-stream through the water.

Ariann shot out of the water, grabbing the edge of the pier that the man and his patient were on and lifting herself up, shaking the water off of her as she did. Then, she laid the board flat onto the deck of the pier and focused in on the water that had been sucked into the pours of the wood. Her brow furrowed in concentration as she used Reimancy to extract a bit of the water, but most of the wood remained wet in the middle.

"Here." Ariann said, gasping for breath after the extensive use of her Djed as she handed Aleron the plank. At such a closed distance, Aleron would see that her cherubic demeanor was spoiled by the rows of jagged teeth within her mouth that flexed each time she spoke. The teeth appeared to be meant for eating meat, but Ariann had a soft personality that suggested she couldn't kill a fly even if she tried to. She smiled at Aleron, hoping he would take the plank.

On the docks [Ariann]

Postby Aleron Mangrove on May 24th, 2013, 4:01 am

He doesn't seem to notice her beforehand- just another person in the crowd, another face to be whizzed around and past. He doesn't really focus on much else other than his patient, as he waits for what he requested, considering taking the man to the city infirmary if he has to. Certainly they would have something like a splint for the man, but as he waits, ensuring his patient has nothing like a concussion, - just by checking proper pupil dilation, asking if his head hurt - he notices Ariann out of the corner of his eyes, as she grips the edge of the pier.

He gives a faint smile as she places the board down, her shaking off the water likely getting him and the injured sailor rather wet, but he doesn't seem to mind, and bares it with a faint chuckle, doing what he can to keep the newly done bandages from getting wet. He moves to take the plank, but stops himself as he sees her concentrating on it, smiling a little more, head tilted to one side as he watches her draw some of the water out.

"Thank you kindly, Miss." He says as he takes the plank lightly, giving her a warm smile. It'd probably take him a few seconds to note that she was a Charoda, even as unfamiliar with them as he was, he'd still heard of them. Unsure if they're usually nude or not, he doesn't point out her lack of clothes, moving to wrap bandages around the wound and the splint at five separate points on the leg, making sure to keep it held firmly in place, keeping the leg as is, straight and still as he can, to ensure the man doesn't do more damage to it, moving it around. The tightness of the bandages would likely cause the man to groan out in pain, if not cry out, before he finishes up, each spot he's wrapped bandages around wrapped around several times, to ensure they don't come loose easily. "Change the bandages on the wound twice a day." He says in a somewhat stern tone, giving the man a faint frown. "You don't want that getting infected. Rest the leg, don't try to run on it, and go the Infirmary if you tear the stitches, or see any pus when you change the bandages. Your leg's broken, if you don't give it time to heal and start walking on it too soon, you're going to do even more damage to it. Let's get you home, hrm?" He moves to carefully help the man up, giving Ariann another warm smile. "Thank you again. I'm Aleron, pleasure to meet you." He extends a hand towards her, for shaking purposes, while supporting the man, standing under the shoulder of his bad leg, having to stoop no small amount to do so. He doesn't seem discouraged from conversation, despite her somewhat scary, jagged teeth, open minded, although this is a race he hasn't seen in anything but books and rumours, previously. "You're a Charoda, right?" He asks after a moment, waiting for her answer, before he departs, starting to try and amble in the direction the man says his house is. If she comes with him or not, who can say?

Ariann beamed a smile at Aleron when he called her 'Miss'. It was something that she rarely got from the other people within Zeltiva. Most called her names like gill-lips or fish-thing. Aleron was truly the first person that knew what a Charoda was, at least from Ariann's perspective. She nodded and reached out to touch the sailor's leg, softly pressing on the skin near where the fracture was. Oddly enough, the sailor showed no sign of pain as a strange mark on the back of both of her hands appeared, glowing with a dim golden light. It was a gnosis of healing from Rak'kiel herself, but Ariann didn't know it from the blank look she had on her face. The man would feel less pain afterwards, but the wounds would still remain.

"I am a Charoda." She smiled at him again, showing the rows of jagged teeth again, like a shark. She climbed to her feet and looked at the hand, mimicking the motion, but simply sticking her hand out in front of her without taking his. "My mother named me Ariannaliese." She said with a smile, her hand simply floating in front of her as she held it there. Her hair-fins began to move on their own, appearing to flow backwards as the gnosis mark on her hands faded. "It's always fun to meet a land-dweller." She nodded with a child-like enthusiasm.

When Aleron began to lead the sailor away, Ariann waited for a moment before falling quiet, looking around hesitantly. She was beginning to wonder why there were people staring at her. Little to her knowledge, most of them were staring at her chest.

He tilts his head to one side as she does this, giving a simple, "Huh..." Of interest, pausing for a moment, looking at her again as she does this. "What was that?" He enquires after a moment, head tilting to one side, before he gives a faint shrug. He'd likely stick around a little longer, as she makes some conversation with him, smiling some more. "Well, a pleasure to meet you, Ariannaliese, did I say that right? Quite the long name you've got, heh." He chuckles a little as she does this with her hand, moving his slowly to hers, so as to avoid taking her by surprise, trying to give it a light grip and shake, with a warm, reassuring smile.

He'd, naturally, have his sight, his way of using Auristics open slightly, as he does at all times, naturally as breathing now, without giving it any thought, however, as she used her Gnosis mark, he'd put a little more energy into it, trying to find out what exactly's happening. The first thing he notes is with regards to concern for his patient - seemingly nothing harmful entering their system, unless you counted dulling pain as such, messing with the fight or flight reflex as it is, and the bodies natural way of telling you something's doing damage to your body. It is, perhaps, something of a tribute to his determination in helping patients that he notices the power she's wielding appears to be flowing from a source as close to endless as he can possibly imagine, truly titanic compared to himself, a mere speck, a mote of dusk, the smallest of ants standing before a towering mountain. It leaves him, for a moment, rather light headed, before she finishes, taking a moment to compose himself, get his thoughts back in order properly.

After clearing his throat, he looks around slowly, and, as she appears to wonder at the people staring, he says, in a slightly hushed tone, "Most people aren't used to seeing anyone without clothes, Miss Ariannaliese. Do you need to get some?" He asks lightly, giving another faint smile. If she says she does, he motions for her to come with him, in dropping the sailor back to his house, obviously more interested in this stranger, odd and interesting as she is than the patient he's helping move about. Him being smaller and less bulky than himself, it's little real issue for him, especially as the man doesn't appear to be in so much pain now.

Ariann waited for a bit, letting the doctor ramble off. When the mention of her being without clothes came around, Ariann looked down at her chest and felt the color drain from her face. She was well aware that it was bad to go without clothing on the surface and she had been told that many times when she arrived. "U-u-uhh..." She found herself at a loss for words and her arms quickly moved over her chest and her legs closed tightly. "Stop looking, you pervert!" She cried, turning and squatting down. Even in the seas, she had been clothed by seaweed so no one could see her private parts, but now that she had utterly lost her clothing in the waters just off the shore, she felt more naked than ever... she felt like the people's eyes were boring into her skin.

"Sorry- I- Uh-" He doesn't really know what to say at this stage, what he'd thought to be a simple cultural difference obviously very wrong, not that his eyes had really left her face, and those somewhat scary teeth, watching those out of the corner of his eye. He swiftly turns away, fumbling awkward with the man and his own top, as he moves to take his top off, throwing it in her vague direction once he eventually got it off, slightly guided by a vague sense of where her aura is, but not to an extent where, if asked, he could reliably point, more of an instinctive 'knowing', or seeming too at least. "Here." He says simply. Not exactly anything impressive to look at, he's simply quite broad, maybe even what could be loosely called pudgy, a little muscle on him, but not really very much. He waits for her to get it on and say something before he looks back at her, not wanting to make things even worse, he exhales a faint sigh, the only thing he can really do at this stage being to wait.

On the docks [Ariann]

Postby Ariann on May 26th, 2013, 1:41 am

Ariann lifted her head just enough to look behind her as Aleron tossed her the shirt. Normally, nudity wasn't a problem, but Ariann had learned that women were viewed as a way to create babies based on the size of their chest and so she tried to keep her privates hidden at all times. The thought that Aleron had seen more of her than he should have been allowed to see made her feel uneasy. She felt her face grow hot as her cheeks turned bright red. Quickly, she snatched the over-sized sailor's shirt and quickly tugged it over her head. "F-f-forget what you saw!" She cried out at him, her cheeks burning white-hot. She didn't want anyone to see her privates, especially not people she had just met. "You shouldn't have looked!" She said, pulling the shirt as far down as she could to hide both her breasts and her private 'spot' between her legs.

He gives a slightly apologetic smile once he's given her plenty of time to get the shirt over herself. He is, as previously mentioned, very tall, and not exactly thin, so his shirt would likely do plenty to cover her. "Sorry again, Miss Ariannaliese, I thought you'd realised, it wasn't my intention to cause offense." He gives a faint shrug, still looking rather apologetic. "I should really get this man home, but, look, here." He fumbles around in his pockets for a moment, still making sure he's kept the man propped up nicely, before he holds out a pair of gold Mizas with a smile. "Take these, get yourself some clothes, okay? The General Store's just down there, think of it as my way of saying sorry. If you want to talk to me at some point, for whatever reason, I'll be at the World's End Grotto, just leave a note or something, telling me when and where. Been a pleasure to meet you, despite the... Awkwardness. First Charoda I've met. Thank you again for your help with the plank of wood."

He would give her a warm smile, before, if she lets it end at that, heading off, to get the man at long last back to his house and family, waving lightly over his shoulder, on the way.

Ariann stares at the stones she received as if they were a strange concept. She was normally given clothes when she walked into a store without any such garments. It had been an awkward thing for her to do, but she found herself thankful for the help. She looked up at Aleron and turned around as the man began to walk to sailor home. Ariann's curiosity piqued and she stood, silently following along with the two Mizas in her hand. She followed along quietly, watching the man as they walked and maintaining a distance from them. The man is helpful and knows medicine... She thought to herself, thinking of what her mother might say about the man and his talents, But it is difficult to tell if I can trust him... She waited for the man to drop off the sailor before approaching him again.

"Aleron." She said his name carefully, her large green eyes watching him attentively, "Here." She held out the Mizas for him to take back. "I can get new clothing... and..." She paused, thinking of what the etiquette of land-dwellers said about apologies. "I am sorry for... loosing my clothes. It was not my intent to be awkward. Apologies." She said, taking the blame upon herself like she normally did. It was best to blame yourself rather than blame others in order to avoid fights and bodily harm.
