Name: Eralyn
Race/gender: Female fox kelvic
Age: Three and a half (equivalent to being 17-18)
Date of Birth: 23rd of Spring, 510AV
Height: 5'3"

Physical description:
Though of average height, Era seems smaller than she appears. With a willowy frame and fragile features she has been mistakenly labeled as weak, though underneath she has stamina and strenght gained from years running around the plains. Era has long hair the same pale tan color as her alternate form which falls a few inches past her shoulder. Her eyes are a dark brown, also an echo of her other form. At first glance her face can seem completely human, but if looking more closely her eyes are too large, her expression to still.

Era shifts into a fox, one that is best suited to cooler northern climates. Measuring about 3 and a half feet from head to tail, her fur changes as the seasons do. In winter, her fur is a pale tan, meant to blend in to the snows of the animals natural landscape. During the spring she sheds the heavier winter coat, which is replaced by a thiner coat of a darker shade of the same tan color.

Character concept:
If there was one word to describe Era it would be movement. She does not sit still well, and even when forced to sit she is always moving, a hand gesturing in time with her thoughts or a foot tapping. Her thoughts follow a similar path, never staying in one place for long. Ideas can be brought up and then dropped in a matter of moments. Perhaps despite this, Era can be single-minded in pursuit of information she deems 'interesting', though this label is given seemingly at random.

From a childhood spent sheltered, without a proper social interaction, Era lacks a complete knowledge of social graces. She contains a classic kelvic disregard for modesty although at her bondmate's insistance she tries to remember to don clothes in public. While often stemming from innocent curiosity her questions can sometimes seem invasive or rude, and her abupt subject changes careless. She has a natural curiousity about the world around her, seeking to fill gaps in her knowledge created by a solitary life. Observent, she watches people often disturbing them with her propensity for staring.

Character history:
Era was born in a small home on the outskirts of Sunberth. Her father was eagle kelvic and her mother was human, although there were stories passed down in the mother's family that one of her greatgrandparents had also been kelvic. Either way, Era was born into a happy household, her parents were bonded and they loved their child.

They feared for their child, growing up in the shadow of a city best known for being lawless and full of danger. It never occured to them to move, this was their hometown, but they resolved to keep their child away from it. They would not let their beautiful baby to be corrupted by outside influences.

It was soon after apparent the Era wasn't human, her growth rate was noted, as well as an unsteady set of paws running down hallways. This brought a whole new set of fears for her parents. Before they has just feared corruption, now they feared slavery as well. Her father told whispered stories of young kelvics becoming slaves, used because of overwealming loyalty. Bonds formed when kelvics are young are shallow and easy to change, a travesty to parents who had formed a strong bond and couldn't imagine anything less for their child. It was official: Era was never setting foot in that city if they had any say in it.

From her younget memories, Era remembers her parents impressing on her the need to avoid the city. They never really gave a reason, but Era loved them and didn't see a reason to question them. That and there was enough of the world to explore outside of the city. As soon as she had been able to walk steadily in her fox form, she was running around the plains, jumping at shadows and watching all the natural wildlife. When she was younger, her father would fly with her, steering her away from roads and travelers alike, and by the time she was old enough to go out on her own it was habit to not talk to the people she saw.

That didnt stop her from observing though. Her parents refused to tell her stories about the other races, not wanting to stir her curiousity of the world. Instead they told fantastical legends and myths. Her knowledge of the other races was hard won in small sentances, pieced together month after month. While Era hesitated to interact with others, that didnt stop her from observing in hopes of adding to her piecewise knowledge of the world.

Era grew up fast, reaching sexual maturity in only a year or so, and making it to adulthood by three years. She always felt at least a little lonely, but whenever she brought it up her parents would just brush it off. Whenever she brought up bonding the subject was closed. And gods forbid if she even mentioned wanting to search out a bondmate of her own. Her parents would just bring out the same old horror stories of crime in Sunberth, always finishing with she had her parents, why should she need anyone else let alone a bondmate. Guilt from this arguement prevented Era from bringing up the subject often, though that didn't stop her from looking at all the couples who traveled the roads and wanting.

Despite all her parents protests though, she did eventually meet her bondmate. One of those same travelers that she had always observed got a little bit closer than anticipated, and before she knew it she had a bondmate. Amongst the surprise, there was the simple joy at knowing she wasn't alone. She had been resigned to being alone with her parents forever, yet now she was: bonded. At that point there wasnt even a question of leaving her parents to follow her bondmate to Zeltiva.

So she packed up her stuff and off she went, leaving her parents behind in a bittersweet departure. Not even this could temper her excitement at the journey, and even more importantly having a bondmate. She knew the plains like she knew her own home, but it was time to see the rest of the world, and best of all she wouldn't have to do it alone.
