Expert NPCs and Self-Moderation

My character has just begin a job as a Clerk at Undeniable Interests. His boss, Dominac Avira, is an Expert of several skills and even a Master at one or two. For now I am not interested in really training with him I just need him to be a boss. "Go clean those shelves", "get that box from the back" and even some banter such as "the last person to touch that artifact ended up with one hand full of thumbs and the other full of fingers. The knights had them chopped off. That was your predecessor if I recall" etc etc...

Soooooo, on the proviso that I not learn from him can I self-moderate my job threads with him in them?
