Once or twice, Verena might have heard of a performance by Inari, but she had never seen it herself. Cas had invited her to come watch with him a few times, but she had always had the feeling that she could not abandon her clinic just for entertainment. Some might say she was obsessed with her work - maybe she was, who knew? - but it was just her priorities were set and she was in no interest to rearrange them.
Typically, the young woman would have said no. But of course, there is no such thing as typical if one decided to spend the night in the Midnight Market. Verena had been looking for some sort of company and her niece with the Sitai were much better than nothing. Verena nodded soundlessly, more relieved than she was to admit to anyone. Being solitary has its perks, but she was not about to endanger because of that.
She could not help but remember what Zorane had told her countless times. Small talks are good. It makes you look more . . . open. Clearing her throat hesitantly, Verena started, "What are both of you looking for? It must be important. Lest, you won't brave the market." The words were not smooth, but it was at least an effort.
