Appearance
An eight-foot, hulking mass of dark fur, Prid is nothing if not a standout. Though fairly average for a Jamoura, he dwarfs practically anything outside of his homeland. A mop of short brown and black fur covers his heavy frame, though -- like most giant apes -- his hands, feet, chest, and face are left bare. Where it is exposed, Prid's black hide takes on a leather-like quality. It creases in ridges where his joints bend and thus appears rough in texture, yet it is surprisingly soft to the touch. His hair, however, is just as coarse as one might expect.
Though his size can be intimidating -- especially to those unfamiliar with the Jamoura -- the friendly twinkle in his brown gaze and smile lines around his eyes should promptly establish him as completely nonthreatening. Assuming, of course, that he isn't trying to be threatening.
Prid typically only grooms himself once every few days, or whenever he bathes. Since it takes quite a while to brush out his entire massive body, Prid rarely ever grooms more than once a day, or whenever he is ordered to do so. As is natural, Prid's fashion hardly ever consists of more than the pair of breeches provided by his master and perhaps a deep-necked shirt if the situation calls for it.
"Most things useful are beautiful."

Personality
Having barely ever ventured outside of his homeland, Prid often finds himself stricken with curiosity in the outside world. He is not hesitant to ask questions, and will be quite frank in doing so.
He is open, honest, and utterly forthright. If given the chance, he might just share his entire life story with you. He has nothing to hide. In fact, due to being raised in the Spires amongst nature and the wisdom of his elders, the whole concept of lying is vague to him. As such, he may at times tend to be brutally honest, and come across as quite gruff.
However, though he is inherently kind, Prid can also be quite spiteful to those he feels deserves it. He can have a sharp tongue when he chooses to, and may lash out with it.
Like his brethren, Prid has certain qualms with becoming emotionally attached to less long-lived beings. It takes time for him to really consider one a friend.
While he is a warm-hearted individual, Prid prefers to remain impartial in situations that often require a side to be chosen.
He has a calm disposition that can either make him seem relaxed and easy-going, or might come across as aloof.
"Don't let others determine your thoughts."

History
Prid was born in the Spires -- as are all Jamoura -- to a very small and closely-knit family. His father was a carpenter, his mother a gardener. He grew up in a slow and peaceful setting and took up gardening, though he always had a specific affinity for resolving conflict.
The prime opportunity to find a wife passed him all too suddenly, and at 230 years old he still found himself without his own family. Realizing this, he felt it was best for him to go out into the world to seek the knowledge and experience that would allow him to start his own family.
Thus, in the Fall of 507, Prid found his way to Zeltiva, spending six years learning in the city -- not at the University, but as a clerk for a small flower shop where he had the chance to encounter numerous interesting people day in and day out. It was here he learned of the fragility of Human lives and how closely tied life and death are, as most of his customers came ether celebrating one or mourning the other.
After spending what felt like a reasonable, if short, amount if time in the city, he felt it was time to see more. He paid a ragtag group of sailors to take him with them to Nyka.
Unfortunately, he was tricked. The sailors were actually slavers. Prid was held captive, along with a few other betrayed travelers, and the ship changed course for Ravok.
The man in charge could hardly contain his excitement at having captured a giant talking gorilla, and hastily sent off a bragging letter to his cousin -- one Nathaniel Selfbled.
Nathaniel, in turn, replied with an eager request to have the giant talking gorilla for himself. With that, the slave ship detoured to Sunberth.
"All things change, and we with them."
