Beginner's questions (Charoda + Lhavit / Riverfall)

Postby Rilou Mae on January 1st, 2014, 5:57 pm

Starting with general Mizahar RP questions:

  • Looking for RP partner for flash backs - is it common practice? If there is no player interested in joining the cooperation, is it ok to make up a fake "NPC partner"?
  • Does any form of technology exist in Mizahar? Is there anything that goes as far as simple steampunk gadgets, such as clocks and music box?

Charoda specific:

  • Chabosi isn't available as a playable city right now, but flashbacks are ok for that I hear. Is there something happened that cause Charbosi uninhabitable, or do player Charodae simply have to live else where because the city isn't mechanically ready to be played yet? Just want to know what excuse I can use for leaving Charbosi and live else where.
  • For either Lhavit and Riverfall, can a Charoda's home be some sort of pond around the city, or the shore closest to the city edge? Would that also imply Charoda generally lives further away from the town centre?
  • Optional question: What's a good place to look for a Charoda portrait? XD

Thank you in advance for your attention!

Beginner's questions (Charoda + Lhavit / Riverfall)

Hi there.

Great questions.

Chabrosi isn't developed yet because we haven't had enough Charoda to show interest in building it. Once we get enough players and there is interest, I'm sure it will be developed. It's not technically on land but its offshore of Falyndar to the south. The City itself is thriving... nothings wrong with it and you can visit it in flashbacks.

You can make NPC partners to RP with. The rules are in the NPC section of the wiki.

While Mizahar doesn't have any Steampunk elements, we do have simple gadgeteering devices like clocks or music boxes. Basically victorian era things are fine. But please please please steer clear of steampunk. That is not our theme here.

I'm the Domain Storyteller (one of them - Magpie is the other) of Riverfall. We have all kinds of underwater housing for aquatic races like Charoda and Konti. The city is built on a cliff surrounding a waterfall and the plunge pool the river falls into has housing within it. :)

Most people take normal people photos, alter the nose, and add tenticles instead of hair, and go with that. There's a lot of photoshop gurus here that can help you.

As for Lhavit, there are places along the Tranquil Port where Charoda and Konti can choose to live. I have yet to write the actual locations, but the city of Lhavit is structured like a hand with all the fingers outstretched toward the sky. Think of the palm as the actual port. Along the water's edge, there are a lot of different aquatic habitats and places for seabound creatures to live. :)

Beginner's questions (Charoda + Lhavit / Riverfall)

Postby Rilou Mae on January 3rd, 2014, 1:28 pm

Thank you both! Just some more questions to annoy all of you with:

  • What material do Charodae wear everyday? Being aquatic, I imagine ordinary linen cloth might not be practical, right?
  • If music box can exist (asking about this in particular because if I can use it, it'll be a crucial plot item for me), is there some sort of tinkering or toolmaker profession here that can make them?
  • What do they use to write?

Once again thank you all for your constant help! Yes I mean you guys too, chat room folks!

Hiya Lilou

I can't answer you about the clothing, the only Charoda I have read writing didn't mention clothing in their posts.

However for 2.There can be Music boxes, but they would be rare. The profession that would make then is called Gadgeteering :)

3. People in Mizaha use pencils and charcoal sticks to write :)

Beginner's questions (Charoda + Lhavit / Riverfall)

While the lore doesn't have any info on clothing style, the Charoda probably don't have much need for it. Their rubbery skin is insulated enough that they can live deep underwater, so its not like they need to wear clothes for warmth. I'd say Charoda wear enough to abide by general rules of decency in the cities they inhabit, and could wear things made from more fast drying cloth (which they'd have easier access to in places like Lhavit or Riverfall), but probably are used to wearing nothing and or clothing woven from aquatic plants/seaweed (if they were born and raised in Charbosi).
