It was a relatively normal Syliran day. The sun shone. The sky was a beautiful shade of blue. The birds sang. People were going about that daily business, which consisted of stocking their marketplace stalls or just simply having a stroll, taking in the wonderful weather that normally came once every few days. Children ran about the place, chasing each other or running to and from different points that they had previously marked out.

Luther came sprinting out from a nearby alleyway, determined not to be late. His armor shone in the sun, making it reflect into many different directions, be it in people's eyes or simply onto the multiple walls that surrounded the marketplace. The chainmail that was below the armor rested upon Luther's skin, rubbing it as it bounced up and down from the knight running his heart out. He was headed towards the main gates of Syliras since he was scheduled to patrol outside for a good few bells.

The knight came to standstill as he reached the huge gates of Syliras. He surveyed them for a second before checking he had all his equipment with him, which consisted of his hands burrowing anywhere and everywhere all over his body in a search to make sure he had everything.

Sword, check. Shield, check. Helmet, on.

He smiled as the gates open before stepping out into the open world and surveying it for a moment, and then slowly moving on.

"NPC's words."

Sei had risen early that morning, but not in a regular way. He woke up after falling off his bunk, thinking they were under an attack. He was thankful that all the other squires had left already, but it was still quite embarrasing. He had gotten ready to leave, met up with his Patron, and now he was here, directly in the city of Syliras. He was still a bit groggy, but he would push through it as always.

"We're going to be patrolling the Bronze Woods. Do you have the necessary equipment?"

The Kelvic checked himself. Studded leather armor, leather boots, shortsword sheathed across his back, dagger at his waist, and his small steel shield braced around his right arm. He was set. He nodded at his patron, seeing that the gates were only a few yards away. He then stopped behind his patron. Ser Erik turned to Sei with a stern expression. Uh-oh. Here comes a lecture.

"Sei, it is dangerous in the woods, so I expect you to use every caution if you find yourself alone. Understand?"

"Yes Ser. I understand. So uh, does that mean I'm allowed to, ya know, change?"

"Only if it's necessary Sei."

Sei nodded his understanding and the exited the Syliras gates. After about a mile his Patron said he needed to patrol the city and left Sei by himself. Sei sighed, remebering Ser Erik's words. He had to use every caution. Ser Erik had this planned all along! The Kellvic made his way through the Bronze Woods, noting the blooming leaves of bronze and gold. A couple yards in, he could see a figure. He drew his shortsword, unsure of wether he should approach the.. Man by the looks of it.

The figure had scraggly dark brown hair that reaches just below it's ears, and skin was just one shade light of being pale. Sei avoided branches and twigs that would give him away. He then raised his sword once he was directly behind the man, and pointed a few cenimeters away from the mans neck.

"Squire Sei Tendo. Indetify yourself and turn around please."

Luther walked along the path that led into the Bronze Woods. It was a relatively nice stroll, since colorfultrees, shrubs and bushes lined either side of the pathway. The sun still beat down upon the knight's back, but he liked it in a way. It was a damn sight better than having snow plummet from the skies and just make everyone and everything miserable and annoyed. Plus it meant extra duty for Luther since people got impatient and had a tendency to fight with one another.

Oh the joys of being a knight.

He removed his helmet and tucked it under his right arm since it was getting annoying and unbearably hot. Luther ran a hand through his hair, making his hand wet with sweat, so he flicked it out to his left. The knight shook his head before taking the helmet out from under his arm and looked it over. There was a large scratch down the right side from where he'd idiotically dropped it down the stone stairwell.

"Squire Sei Tendo. Identify yourself and turn around please."

Luther slowly raised his hands, albeit half-heartedly. For the man had identified himself as a squire, Luther knew no harm would come to him. He slowly turned to face his assailant. Luther noticed the man's piercing green eyes first, and then the sword that was just inches from his throat. That took him by surprise.

"Ser Luther Stone, 1st Wing, White Company, 2nd Regiment, Silver Quadron," The knight pointed a hand at the sword that was poised to strike. "You mind putting that down?"

Sei's jaw dropped. A Knight. He'd drawn his sword on a Petching Knight. You can stop pointing a sword at him for starters! He reminded himself. He lowered his shortsword hastily, bowing deeply. He looked at the ground coompletely. "I'm so, so sorry Ser Stone!! I'll make note not to let it happen again!! I was supposed to be on patrol with my patron, Ser Erik, but he set me up to go alone. I was just following my orders to be cautious, but I was way out of line Ser! Please forgive my lack of sense!"

I'm blabbering like an idiot! He rose slowly, looking down at the ground of the woods. He didn't dare look at Ser Luther in the eye now. Then a realization hit him. What if he tells Ser Erik of my blunder?! I'm so screwed! Now he could feel a bead of sweat roll down his neck. He was going to get one hell of a lecture - or even worse - punishment. The only thing he could do was apologize.

"If you won't mind Ser Stone, perhaps it would be better if I were to patrol alongside you? That is, if you don't mind Ser."

Luther watched as the squire's jaw dropped from the top of his mouth. It made a smile form on the knight's own since the man had realized his mistake. If the squire hadn't identified himself right away, Luther's first instinct would have been to attack. Thank the Gods he had. That would have been interesting. Finally though, the squire lowered his sword down to his side. That brought a sense of relief over the knight.

He picked his helmet up off the ground and tucked it back under his arm. The knight recomposed himself after the sudden stand-off and calmed himself down, without showing the squire his sudden worry. Having a sword drawn on them does that to a person. Luther wasn't exactly used to it. Inside the walls, people generally respect the armor and what it represents. Outside them though, it's a completely different ideology.

"You're alright, squire." Luther said, trying to look least threatening as possible.

"If you won't mind Ser Stone, perhaps it would be better if I were to patrol alongside you? That is, if you don't mind Ser."

"Not a bad idea. I have been getting warnings of bandits located around these parts. I suppose we'll see. C'mon."

Luther set off down the path without waiting for the squire, wanting to get on with his patrol.

Sei nodded and followed closely behind the Knight. It was the awkward silence that made him uncomfortable, but also the mention of bandits. His patron hadn't mentioned anything like that, but then again, Ser Erik had the tendency to withhold information from his squire. Petch. Maybe this is a test? After pondering a bit further into the thought, the squire decided to stay alert. He couldn't hear anything strange, but they were heading deeper into the woods. The Kelvic was hoping for something interesting to happen, but apparently nothing was out of the ordinary.

"Ser Stone, What do you mean bandits?"

Luther adjusted the helmet on his head as he continued on down the dirt path with the squire in tow. It made him somewhat happy that he finally had someone he could boss about for a bit, even if it was just a couple bells long. That, and the squire already had a patron. Ser Erik. Luther had never heard of the man. Then again, he'd not heard of many knights since there we so many in the order. He sighed as the armor bounced up and down slightly with each movement he made.

"Ser Stone, what do you mean bandits?"

The knight smiled, although his helmet hid his expression. It must have worried him, since he probably hadn't seen much action outside the city walls, being a squire and all. It reminded him of his days as a squire, under Samuel Rykker. The man was somewhat psychotic, but it stopped people from messing with Luther, for fear of reprisals from Rykker. Luther shook his head, getting rid of the thought, and slowly turned it around to face the squire, who was a few steps behind him.

"You know, bandits," Luther said, the words he spoke dripped with sarcasm. "The people that rob you blind and normally carry small knives and almost always end up in your belly. That's what I mean by bandits."

He chuckled behind his helmet, before resting his palm on the hilt of his sword, knowing that his sarcasm would probably be the end of him.
