18 Fall 514 AV Morning
Walking around the Seaside Market, Fire ran her fingers over a few of the leather straps that were used to hold weapons. She didn't need them but she wanted to feel the buttery leather under her skin. She wasn't really partial to coming to the market because she always worried that someone was going to steal from her while she was trying to shop. Or she would get into an altercation or something of the sort.
Walking to the next stall, she paused to look at some fresh cut flowers and some dried ones. Noticing that there were Brinetooth berries in a jar that was sitting nearby. Every time she saw berries she tried to see if they were Brinetooth. She didn't know much about herbalism but she was glad that Amon had taught her a little something. She would always check so she could keep herself from forgetting.
Not needing any of the flowers she looked at another table, trinkets of different sorts were on the table, there was a hair bauble, a delicately carved brooch, a few pins to hook on to your lapel. There was one that was particularly pretty, picking it up she ran her fingers over the smooth surface, a few scratches were in the metal and she could tell that it had belonged to someone before it had come to sit on the table at this stand. The tip of her finger pressed on the ears and ran along the edges. It wasn't fancy but it was shiny, and she liked it because it reminded Fire of herself.
Turning it over in her hand she looked it over, checking to see if the clasp would work so that she could make sure that it would stay on her cloak. Unhooking it and re-hooking the pin appeared to work fairly well. Asking the woman behind the table how much it was, she handed over the 45 copper mizas for the broach. Reaching up she ran the point of the pin through the cloth over where her cloak clasped together. The little copper cat sitting merrily on her chest now, Fire made her way through the market some more.
Her eyes roved over some furs that were for sale at one of the stands as she continued her slow path. She kept her hands in her pockets, her right hand rolling around the piece of glass that Nellie had given her. She carried it with her wherever she went.
Stopping at another stall she picked up some of the eye kohl that was sitting in rows of different colors. There were some tinged lip concoctions and colored eye powder that were sitting nearby. Fire had never put make up on before, but she figured if the items weren't too pricy that she might actually try putting make up on. She wanted to look pretty for Dor'gen.
Moving some of the items around, she picked up a lighter colored eye powder, some of the pink lip tinge and some black kohl. She then moved over to the area where a bunch of painting brushes in various sizes were laid out. She picked a few up, the ends fat and fluffy. She didn't think that she would be able to fit those in the containers of the eye makeup up so she moved on to some of the other smaller brushes. There were a few with some smaller pointed tips and some that had a small fluffy top. She wasn't sure which one she should use so she picked up both to try out. Handing the person that was sitting down in the stall the mizas for the small items, she tucked them into her pocket.
Walking some more down the way, she spotted some little glass bottles sitting in neat little rows. The light refracted off of the different colors of glass and metal and Firenze was immediately drawn to them. She reached out her fingers delicately, afraid that she might break them. Picking up one of the stoppers on a perfume bottle she held it up to her nose and sniffed at them. Coughing a little from the overwhelming smell she put the stopper back. Her nose crinkled, she rubbed at it trying to get the smell out. She did not like that one. There was another one that had some kind of squeezing ball attached to it, but she didn't squeeze it because she didn't want to have to buy the item if the vendor got mad.
Fire picked up a particularly pretty blue bottle, the contents clear enough that that light shone right through the glass. It had some metal work at the top that held the stopper, then it ran along the edges of the glass, keeping it in place, and down to the bottom which created a base for the glass piece. There was a long delicate glass stopper protruding from the top of the bottle that ran down into the contents so whoever were to use it could dab the liquid on themselves. Rings of metal wrapped around parts of the stopper, giving it more of a grip so as to not drop the slick glass piece.
Pulling the stopper out she sniffed the end where the liquid was, leery to get it to close to her nose this time in case that it was as potent as the other bottle. It wasn't particularly strong, so she smelled it a little more putting the stopper close to her nose. It had a faint powdery smell with a musky undertone. Smiling she closed her eyes, breathing in the scent, enjoying the different smells intermingling and tickling her senses. It was so feminine and delicate, she couldn't resist buying it. Again, she gave the person behind the table her mizas and this time kept the delicate little bottle in her grip. She wanted to make sure that it would make it home okay so that she could wear it the next time that she saw Dor'gen.
