The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

At the talk, the little mouse's eyes widened. He barely had time to pull his paws back from the wooden doll, before it moved of its own volition.. it didn't just move, it walked. He stole a glance over to Phelan, before focusing back on the man once more and the remarkable dolls taking up their places at his sides. Dolls, that could move, apparently of their own free will.. who knew what else they could do, if effectively taught what was needed. Could they learn how to use weapons, if given fingers.. could they learn to disguise themselves, to survive by themselves.. so many more questions came rushing into his head, so many more than he could even ask at that moment.. not that he would. Unfortunately, whoever this man was, he seemed a little bit.. less co-operative than he would have liked. All humans and human-like beings seemed to share that same trait, however.. they were all reluctant to do this and that, no matter what was thrown in their faces.

"Of course you don't have a reason to. I haven't given you a reason yet." Of course, there would be plenty more brought to the bargaining table now. He didn't just want one for himself, he wanted to know everything. "Let me introduce myself. Cyq. The reason I want one, is because I have a lot of work to do. These things, dolls, whatever you want to call them, can help. All I need, is a 'helper'." That was the reason that the mouse wanted one.. but of course, why should he find it interesting? He wasn't the one who was trying to bargain himself into gaining a powerful artifact such as these. "The reason that you want to make one for me, is that I can help you. You have an end-goal, don't you? Something to work towards, something you want.. everyone has one. I have one, although I doubt you're interested in that." The mouse was leaning closer now, enough that most of his weight rested entirely on the stick that wavered between his paws.

"I want to make a deal with you. If you make me a doll, I'll find something I have to repay you. Money, resources.. I'm sure we can work something out. And, if you don't want to make one for me.. then tell me how I can make my own." The smile that came to his lips might have been a little unsettling for some, considering that it was far too wide to be reached with a regular human mouth - even a mouse would probably have some trouble. Unlike them, the mouse's clay had little restriction, and spread well into his cheek-bones at the mere thought of what he could do, given the power to create these not-so-little minion dolls to do his bidding.. help him create Legacies, cut down large animals for his experimentation. "Or both. It's your choice, really. But I want one of those dolls.. I want to know this magic, that you know so well. Tell me what you want for it." Those last words were a little more forceful, but still practically dripping with the sickly hunny in his tone.

Almost as an off-hand note, he spun around and glared at Phelan for a few long moments. He shouldn't really take his anger at the situation out on the poor wolf-boy-thing, but this was a potentially huge deal that he was about to strike. "What do you need? he hissed softly, completely ignoring the question the boy had asked only moments prior, along with the response - if there even was any. He didn't know, it didn't concern him and he didn't care what purpose they had, if they had any at all. As long as the dolls did what he told them to, there'd be nothing else to worry about.

[Springwater Square] More Than Coincidence.

Clearly the clay creature calling itself Cyq had no intention of backing off from his proposal. It began speaking about it’s reasons for acquiring what he called a “helper”. The creature did not elaborate on what his “work” entailed which was an important detail given the nature of what he was, What sort of work would this creature even need to do?

He enjoyed every step of the animation process, from creating the shell to breathing life into it, nothing seemed to compare to this fascination of his. Still just as the clay creature said he did have a goal, the very reason he had taken Animation as his main discipline of magic.

You think you can help me!?! There is nothing you can do that would help me! Petch your money and resources! With such thoughts swirling inside his head, it was a miracle he did not let his thoughts become his words. An unnatural smile grew on Cyq’s face which only helped to strengthen Kaik’s resolve against the creature’s deal. Does this creature think he’s won? That he has me begging on my knees to accept this deal! No...be it through a doll or teaching I will not give this creature this magic I hold.

“There is nothing you have that will get me closer to my goal...whatever you want from me, be it knowledge or my golems...go ask somebody else.” Kaik was certain that even that clay creature could understand that he would not get anything but wasted time dealing any further with him.

Now he directed his attention to Phelen who did not help to ease the troubles that went on inside his head. Reason? Not this again...why must he bring it up now...I’ll just-... The more he thought about it the more he felt his past objective slip from him, Ellen...it was all about her...but now...it used to so lonely...Arya, Lina, Oliver, even Iris...they’ve all filled the hole Ellen made...can I even hope to recreate her? What will happen if I do accomplish such a feat? What point would there be in living? “I uh-...well...don’t they seem cute? Yes...I just enjoy doing it I suppose.” Not entirely a lie, but it truly was not why he began creating golems. “P-please excuse me,” he began to walk away with his dolls by his side, Kaik just grateful to be rid of Cyq.

[Springwater Square] More Than Coincidence.

Phelan simply stayed back and watched as Kaik completely shot down Cyq's offer without even giving the Pycon's words a second thought, making it clear that he wasn't interested in his offer in any way. When the man acknowledged the Kelvic's own question, it was only to give a rather vague answer and walk away. "TWell, he's a friendly seeming fellow. But then, I suppose someone who crafts living dolls probably isn't going to be the most sociable fellow." he thought quietly as the man left before turning his amber eyes on Cyq.

"Not about what I need, Cyq. I'm going hunting tomorrow, wanted to see if you wanted anything? Or anything specific." he said quietly, giving the hedgehog an even look. He knew that Cyq seemed driven by his goals, as the Pycon had when they had met, but he had underestimated how driven he could get. "
Of course, I suppose if I was as small as he was, I'd probably wind up just as driven, if only because it's the only way I could get someone to take me seriously." he thought as he stood up again and looked after Kaik. "Do you want to follow him so you can try again. If you want, I'll give you a ride. My legs are longer, after all." he said, shrugging slightly.

The smile disappeared very slowly. True enough, if the mouse knew about any other people in the city, or the world, he would have likely gone to them for advice.. but since this was the one man who seemed to know about them, well, he'd just have to settle for finding out what this man had to know. Even if he was unwilling for the moment.. sooner or later, the mouse would find a way to make sure that he co-operated. He didn't have any words for the man, and it seemed they would do little to help his cause at this stage anyway, with the man simply finding excuses to walk away from what tattered remains there were of the deal that he'd hoped to strike. Maybe I should have taken up Hypnotism. He'd heard of it briefly, and it seemed like a decent skill to hold at the moment...

He'd just have to use what was available to him. What coincidence that Phelan had decided to appear at just the right moment. "Oh, whatever you can find will be sufficient, as long as it's not too badly injured." He remembered their deal, animal bodies in exchange for Kina. The mouse had been thinking about going out and finding some more bones for malediction purposes anyway.. he needed the money he could find by the occasional Kina he could make from selling off the items. Having more bodies meant more items that he could sell to pay the various people he'd made business deals with, and besides, it couldn't help to get a little more practice for when he eventually wanted to start working with the less feral animals. He wasn't sure if he'd be able to rope in the wolf for actual manslaughter or the like, but he could sure try.. it wasn't like the wolf was going to talk to anyone about their arrangement so far. That was something to consider another time, either way.. there were more important things running for now.

"I'll be needing your help in something else. I want that mans help." He was sure that Phelan had overheard the conversation. If it could even be called that. "I don't care how I get it, to be honest, but he seems like he might trust you more than me." He had to double-check to make sure that the Animator was out of earshot before he continued. "Do you think you could persuade him to make you one of those dolls, hmm? I'll pay for the doll, no worries about that. But I need a doll. I need to know how he makes them, what they're really capable of. If needs be, I'll take it. I don't care. But I want it." He was practically hissing like a snake, whispering under his breath to make sure that nobody else heard about their confidential conversation. If only there was a place they could talk, but they could keep an eye on the shadow of Kaik disappearing amongst the crowds of the square. "So? Will you help me, dearest Phelan?"

Notes:
Ooh, this was unexpectedly more interesting than I had expected. Kaik getting angry and worked up, that’s something new :) And to actually just walk away like that, I did not see that coming. As for Cyq, I simply like the obsession for whatever piques his interest and the way he’ll do his utmost best to reach his goals, either by negotiating or other means.
