At Amelie's offer to come to her apartment, Alex was completely taken off guard. He was even a bit startled at the gesture. None of the other people he has met ever invited him to their home, and he definitely was not expecting Amelie to ask. Part of him wanted to politely refuse, but he found himself unable to do so.

Instead, he stuttered in agreement. "Oh! Um... Y-yeah... Yes, please. I-I mean... if your mother wouldn't mind..." If he blushed any more, he was sure his face would begin melting.

He nervously tugged at the collar of his black shirt, hoping that the cool, early Spring air would cool him off. All the awkwardness was beginning to show like never before, and he began to hate himself for it. Why couldn't he be like one of those guys who can talk to girls so smoothly? Then again, she did just say that he looked cute when he blushed. Maybe it wasn't so bad after all...?

He's going to say no... Amelie said and mentally cursed herself for asking. Then Alexander began stammering,

"Oh! Um... Y-yeah... Yes, please. I-I mean... if your mother wouldn't mind..."

Amelie laughed. Her laugh was lyrical and so amazing.... "No need to be so nervous. I won't bite... much." She took Alexander's hand then dropped it. "Oh sorry... I mean..." Amelie sighed. "Come, it's this way. And mother won't be bothered she wants me to make new friends."

Amelie began walking down the path, keeping her head down, with her hair falling across to hide her face. Why did you do that? Now he probably won't follow you, or keep away from you or tell others of what you did... But I don't care if he leaves me anyway...

Alex noticed that she seemed to look a bit crushed when she first asked, almost as if she had expected him to say no. Of course, he was glad that he agreed to come along with her in the end. If he had refused, he may have had to live with the guilt of being so rude. Alex has been known to be quite respectful, despite his antisocial demeanor, and he didn't want that to be ruined.

When he finished stuttering his nervous response, he heard Amelie laugh and he immediately began to scold himself for his lack of self-control. Dammit, she's laughing at me. Way to go, ace. You've really outdone yourself this time... He scolded himself in the privacy of his own mind. He was about to excuse himself and apologize for wasting her time, before he found that her laughter was more good-natured than he thought.

Her laugh is so... melodic. It's almost musical... He thought, beginning to laugh with her. "No need to be so nervous. I won't bite... much." She said. Then she took him by the hand and his laughter immediately ceased, completely taken aback. Amelie must have noticed the look in his eyes, because she instantly let go, almost seeming to blush herself. She apologized with a melancholic sigh and added; "Come, it's this way. And mother won't be bothered she wants me to make new friends." With that, she began to walk away.

Knowing how nervous she must feel, he grinned and followed her, holding out his hand. "It's all right, I... I don't mind..." He said, then added with a chuckle; "I guess I can live with a little biting..."

Amelie smiled and held his hand and almost dragged him to her apartment. She half ran, half walked wanting Ross to see her apartment and to show him to Mother.

A small smile crossed her face. Boy, would her mother be speechless when she brought a boy back never mind speaking to him.

When she arrived, she opened the door and dragged Alexander in. Her mother was making food. "Mother, is this is Ross. Ross, Mother."

The mother looked up; she looked like she couldn't believe what she was seeing; her daughter seemed happy bringing someone home. And she must have spoken to him to him too. Maybe getting to to talk had paid off after all.

She cleared her throat. "Mary." She held out her hand.

Amelie smiled and squeezed Alexander's hand. Since she was already holding it quite right, she almost broke his hand."He's like me, Mother. Not very social. Also before you say anything you forcing strangers on me hasn't worked. I just like him." Then she dragged off Alexander to her bedroom.

As Amelie began dragging, he stumbled a bit and almost lost his balance. She was really excited, he noted, and it just made him grin even wider. Although, being dragged all the way there wasn't really what he had planned on.

"Whoa, hang on..." He said with a chuckle, getting his feet back underneath him before he tripped. He couldn't help but also feel a bit eager to see her apartment, and he quickly began to pick up speed, almost matching her for every step.

When they got to her apartment, Amelie practically slammed the door open and dragged the boy inside. The first thing that hit him was the pleasant smell of food being cooked. It was a bit strong at first and nearly made his eyes water, but he soon grew used to it.

An older woman who Alex guessed was Amelie's mother was cooking in the kitchen when she looked up at Alex with a look that he could only guess was disbelief. He could tell that it was not very often that Amelie brought home a new friend, which he thought a bit sad, even though he was much the same way.

He smiled when Amelie's mother held out her hand and introduced herself, and Alex responded with; "It's a pleasure to meet you, ma'am."
He winced when Amelie squeezed his hand even harder.

"He's like me, Mother. Not very social. Also before you say anything you forcing strangers on me hasn't worked. I just like him." She then dragged him off to another room, which by the looks of it, seemed to be her bedroom. He wanted to as about that last thing she had said to her mother, but decided to leave it alone for now.

"Well, then..." He said, looking around. "This is a pretty nice place. How long have you lived here?" He asked.

Crossing of Paths: 2nd of Spring

Postby Terrae on March 6th, 2015, 12:20 pm

"Well, then... "This is a pretty nice place. How long have you lived here?"

"Thank you and since I was born which wasn't very long ago." Amelie said and walked over to her beige desk and put her drawing pad and pencils down "How about you?"

She watched him looking around her room and wondered what he thought of it. She hadn't done much tidying so she was always stepping over stuff and she hadn't opened the curtains, which she decided to do now.

Amelie considered whether to tell him about her being a Kelvic; he didn't know, she knew that, she is very sure of it. Maybe she could show him but she didn't know whether he would run or something from the room when she undressed.

But then she just told him she wasn't born that long ago; so maybe he could pick up the hint. A small smile ramecrosse her face as she thought of a game she could play with him. She would ask questions or drop hints and see how good he was at picking up hints.
She had read a book about bondmates and she was certain it was the reason she thought she should know him.

She went to sit on her bed and leaned against the wall. The game would begin now; she would see how long it would take for him to pick up the hint.

"Same. I've lived here my whole life." He said with a shrug. "The only time I ever set foot outside of the city walls was when I explored the Bronze Woods." He grinned with nostalgia as he recalled the time his mount, Digby, took off through the streets and whisked him away into the Bronze Woods. Ser Ulliver was not happy, but a memory like that is something that Alex wouldn't change for the world.

As he began to recall the more dark and dusty corners of his past, he winced, old memories of abuse and neglect coming back to haunt him. He hoped that his depression hadn't shown on his face, for fear of making Amelie feel uncomfortable. If it had, then he hoped she wouldn't question it. No one but him and his mother knew about his past, and he wanted to keep it hidden away.

"Thank you and since I was born which wasn't very long ago."

Thinking back on this made him wonder...

"Wait, what do you mean by 'not very long ago'?" He asked curiously. Was this some kind of hint about her age, or just a pun about how young she was? By the looks of it, she seemed to be about his age, if not a bit older. It left him more than a little confused.

Amelie smiled. He had picked up the hint.

"Cool, I have heard of it but I haven't been there, I don't think." she said. She had been out to the forest a lot of times and wondered if they were Bronze Woods, but the trees didn't look bronze.

She saw Alexander smiling. She wondered what he was smiling at, maybe he was remembering being in Bronze Woods. She decided she would like to go there... If it wasn't too dangerous; she would like to test her skills but return intact and alive.

Then she saw Ross's smile fade and turn to sadness. Maybe something bad had happened then or something in his childhood; she wanted to ask but didn't want to get into he business.

"What do you mean by that?"

"I was born 3 years ago." Amelie wondered if this would freak him and he would find out his friend (she hoped he considered her his friend) would be a weird human creature. But they're were hundreds like her and different races in Syliras so he shouldn't be too surprised. She wondered if he hoped she would have been human.

"Cool, I have heard of it but I haven't been there, I don't think."

This more or less caught Alex by surprise. There weren't too many residents of Syliras who hadn't seen the Bronze Woods. Of course, being outside of the city walls was always dangerous due to predators, bandits, slavers, and other dangers of the wilderness.

He hesitated a bit, before offering; "Well... maybe I can take you to see it some time..." He said, taking off his glasses to clean the lenses on the soft fabric of his black shirt. The lenses were not even dirty, he just had a nervous tweak "It can get pretty peaceful, sometimes..." He didn't even care that he was still blushing. He felt like he could trust Amelie not to discouraged him because of his nervousness.

"I was born 3 years ago."

When Alex heard this, every muscle in his thin body tensed up. At first, he thought it was a joke, and almost asked her if it really was, but Amelie didn't look like she was kidding. What was she talking about? She looked a lot older, and seemed way more mature than only three years. Was this the work of magic? He was unsure if it was possible or not, but it seemed pretty likely.

Then something else hit him... and he wondered why he hadn't thought of this before... Taking a deep breath, his heart pounding within his chest, he asked her; "Um... what race are you...?"

Amelie

Amelie noticed Alexander was surprised by this; she didn't think many people went out of the city walls. She nodded. "I would like that." She watched Ross clean his glasses. He was nervous, she could tell.

"It could get pretty peaceful sometimes."

Amelie nodded. "I go to the forest a lot. It's nice there but I don't think it is the Bronze Woods."

When she mentioned her age she saw him stiffen. I knew it, I had freaked him out. Maybe I should have said I was twenty or something. I wouldn't blame surprised if he left right now. Amelie sighed.

"Um, what race are you?"

Right, now to find out whether he leaves or stays or completely freaks out and never speaks to her again. "Kelvic." She waited anxiously for his reaction.
