"My Speaking" | My Thoughts |
As soon as Ball failed to gain control of his weapon the first time the squirrel couldn’t help but burst out laughing, this didn’t make matters easy for Ball and his second attempt to gain control of his weapon made the squirrel’s attempt to remain in control of his vocalization of Ball’s humiliation non-existent. Yet the end results was the same, Ball had managed to make the squirrel laugh so hard he couldn’t control himself and Ball was slowly getting angry at the weapon and it had defeated him. Cursed petching piece of wood! He growled at it and yet he stayed caution of it and stayed away from it until it slowed down and came to a standstill.
When the squirrel was finally under control of his laughter Archie reached over and plucked the weapon out of the ground and swung the weapon around for Ball to grab ahold of it. With the weapon in hands again he tried his best to imitate the squirrel in his stance, yet there was blantent things Ball couldn’t do, for instance, Ball had to nail so his balance was offset and forced the expert pyken to take into account his positioning of legs, torso, arms, and weapon.
Shifting his right foot forward and his left foot back and turned it out, this planted the Pycon’s lower body into a wider more stabled position, his torso Ball had to shift his body straighter and adjust his center of gravity to a more lower stable place in relation to his legs, his arms were clasping the flexible weapon in front of him, left in front of the right. His right hand in position at the flat end of the weapon, the flex of the weapon was visible as the pointed tip flexed the weapon’s length slightly as Ball could feel his arms quivering gently as he held it forward. To compensate for his arms being preoccupied Ball had to once more shifted his center of gravity lower and towards the rear of his body to stabilize the whole of his body.
With Archi already in position Ball did his best to try and replicate a stabbing he would’ve used for Thorn or even his rapier, yet it wasn’t the same, the py-pole was flexible and far lighter than the lance he had trained with. Archailist was already explaining how the weapon wasn’t like the human weapons he was already accustoming himself with.
Thorn was a stiff length of metal, nearly the same length as the pole he now held in his hands, but it was heavier and was wide closer to his hands and ended in a point – the length and the point was were the similarities ended however. The second weapon that came to mind was the rapier he bought early on in his solo training prior to being placed under Ser Pycon. The only similarities they had were that the rapier had flex, was slender and narrow, and also ended in a point… But the rapier lacked in length and the pole was heavier. The flex of the rapier was far less than the pole’s flex.
Yet his training in either of those weapons was useless in transferable understanding to the weapon he had now. The only thing he could compare the flexibility of the pole with was his own body, the length of the pole he could compare to Thorn, lastly the point and slenderness of the weapon related to the rapier… I know I can use the rapier and Thorn in a spearing fashion that is similar to one another yet how did I perform that tactical weapon attack? Ball watched as Archie swung the weapon in a short arch, his monocular vision paying close attention to how the squirrel’s arms reacted and compensated for the bowing of the weapon, it appeared to come almost on instinct.
When he felt ready though the Pycon shifted the placement of his weapon, nestling the flat end close to his body so that the length of the weapon ran up the length of his right arm, stabilized and couched as if it was a lance and he was about to charge the jousting shields. His left arm he shifted in place of where his right hand was originally, the driving force behind the weapon. His arm was bent so it crossed his chest, a naturally defensive position for his arm that he could easily detach his hand and swing it across his body to block a spearing attack if he was quick enough to do so.
With his eye trained on Archie, being the smaller of the two pycons, Ball’s compensation of the spear like motion of the weapon required him to be step forward using his left foot as a pushing force, the step forward brought his right foot to the rear while at the same time his right hand pushed the weapon forward, his left hand was too tight against the pole and the smaller pycon could feel the resistance in his hand as the pole slid hard and slowly against his palm.
To compensate for his weapon’s slight downward bow Ball attempted to shift his stabilizing hand up and over, which is what Ball figured out cause the weapon to swing it’s bowing the opposite direction and thus straighten out. It failed and Ball twisting his left arm to shift the direction of the weapon’s bowing did correct the bowing, but it twisted hard to the right.
The length, sudden shift of the weapon’s metal tip, and Ball’s lack of understanding tipped Ball over and planted his arse on the ground with a thud. The pole’s pointed end bent into the air and then slapped the ground, sending a hard vibration up the pole and the flat end took the force that travelled to it and the end smacked Ball in the back of the head.
“Ugh…” He grunted.
