Hey guys! So any single person with a grader status, I have already contacted you. This thread will be here to keep everyone posted on the Event that we're going to be running in several days from now.
Firstly, the Event will be taking place on August 2nd, 8 PM EST, Sunday. I will be grading most of the day, so anyone who wishes to grade before and after it ends may feel free to join me. It is also absolutely fine to show up late to the event! This is volunteer, so no worries.
One thing I'd like to mention here is that I'll be trying to spice up and organize the event so that things go smoothly as possible. As such, I will be asking every attending grader (those who PM me, post here or msg me on AIM/Skype/AJAX Chat), whether through AIM, Skype or PM what domain they'd like to focus on primarily so that we won't have several people reading one thread. You won't have to stick to your domain, but it will make things less confusing. For most of the event, I will be grading threads in obscure domains, perhaps even ST-less or inactive ones that are on the verge of closing down. I'll also be grading Ravok and Riverfall.
The domains most in need of grading (at least to my knowledge) are:
1. Syliras, with around 70 threads in need of grading. This is urgent, and will be the top priority for the grading event.
2. Zeltiva, with 40 or so threads in need of grading.
3. Ravok, with around 20.
4. Endrykas with around 20, almost exclusively Dravite's threads (poor guy).
5. Sunberth . . . around 20, or 30 perhaps.
6. Sahova, with around 20 (mostly my threads teehee).
7. Other misc with 15 and below, usually.
I'd love it if we could bash through from top-to-bottom and get all of the over-crowded city grade queues handled.
If you'd like to be specifically signed up for a city, then please just let me know, and I'll place you in the original post (this one) as one of the graders handling this domain. Then perhaps you can collaborate with others who you know will be focusing in that domain, whether through PM, AJAX, AIM or Skype.
Another way to avert the potential of a really messy event would be putting placeholders. Please, if you wish to attend, put placeholders for every thread you're about to read before you start reading it. This way no one will make the mistake of spending 30 minutes dissecting a thread just for someone to claim it before they post their grade!
As for the more positive side of things . . .
If you'd like to play a fun little competition with your other graders, you can post here and edit your post with a link to every thread you've graded. When the event is over, I'll update the standings and whoever wins will get . . . I dunno, I'll write them a poem or sing them a song of their choice in a Vlog. LOL. Or if anyone wants to do art for them or something, that'd be great too. Maybe even IC fun like Riverfall's grab bag for posting open threads. I'll try to think of something based on the winner.
Of course, this game would be entirely for the purpose of fun, please don't get too competitive! All of your grading is meaningless unless you do it with thought and patience. Please try and look for every possible lore and skill point to be awarded, and read through all of the thread, don't rush. I don't want to inspire anyone to grade over-zealously thanks to victory as a motivation.
