*The darker the shade, the more strongly she feels that emotion.Hair: Jeina has naturally wavy, long hair that she keeps in braids. It is a dark shade of brown that can be easily mistaken as black. As a Vantha, it shimmers faint shades of green while under sunlight.
Skin: Light olive. She has very healthy, clear skin.
Weight: 115
Height: 5' 5"
Clothing:Character ConceptOn the surface, Jeina comes across as very self-absorbed. She has a hard time getting to trust people, and relies heavily on her own self. That being said, she's very confident in her actions, even if they may always not be right. She finds that if she doesn't get attached to other people, she'll have less heartbreak, and therefor, more happiness.
While she prioritizes in keeping herself safe, believe it or not Jeina has a big heart. It's just buried deep inside her. If you strike her the right way and at the right time, she'll become a very loyal friend. However, come across her in the wrong way, and you'll probably become enemies for life. She's very unforgiving, and doesn't like giving second chances.
Living amongst the scum, outlaws, and bandits in Sunberth for almost two years has taken its toll on the way Jeina acts. She's got to keep her wits and mind on edge, all the time, or else she'll die. She can come up with sarcastic remarks off the top of her head within a millisecond, and always knows how to wiggle her way out of a situation using her words...
...most of the time.
Character HistoryJeina's life started out in Avanthal, where she grew up in a large household that overflowed with extended relatives. Imagine aunts, uncles, parents, cousins, grandparents, and even some second-cousins all living under the same roof. Eventually, you
might just go insane. It's a wonder that Jeina never did.
In the Coolwater hold, Jeina was raised as a boat navigator. Her father and uncle taught her how to prepare a ship for takeoff, how to steer, and the basics of fishing. As a woman, she only learned the basics, otherwise she would be in the house, cooking and cleaning. Two things she
hated doing.
Even though she was destined to live a life in the domestic sphere, Jeina didn't have all that bad of a childhood. Her best friend was her cousin, Kiani, and the two were never seen apart. Her family was kind and understanding, except when it came to learning the roles of the household.
It was when Jeina was 17 that her parents decided to wed her to a wealthy Snowsong that Jeina snapped. Unable to accept her own fate, she took drastic decisions. After packing everything necessary to survive, Jeina stole a rowboat from her uncle's dock and rowed all the way to Sunberth (unaware just how dangerous it was).
As soon as she arrived, she got a taste of the life she would soon grow accustomed to, for her boat was stolen not 20 chimes after she stepped off the docks. Jeina was stranded.
For the next couple of months, Jeina got work at a local shooting range, where she plucked arrows off targets for a living. Several times did she almost get struck by someone who decided to shoot while she was standing on the range. In exchange for working, the owner let her practice archery on her own time, as well as accommodated for a living space upstairs.
When she finally found a better job working as a barmaid, Jeina abandoned her old job and worked there. She got a fairly good wage, and since the bar had bouncers, she was kept fairly safe. Since this job didn't offer a place to stay, she had to sleep wherever she could rest her head at night. On a bench, in an alley, behind an old well. Life was
definitely not the same as it was in Avanthal.
The one thing that kept Jeina going was the hope for a more thrilling life. One that she could tell stories out of. It was the one thing that kept her from ever going back. She would rather suffer everyday and meet new people--see new places, than be stuck in a house hearing the tales of others.
Where is she now? Still trying to forge a life out of Sunberth. The city has nearly killed her--many times--but it also opened up opportunities to be whoever she wanted to be. And she's learned how to fend for herself as well. Every day is a new story, a new struggle for survival. It may not be the greatest life on Mizahar, but Jeina wouldn't trade it for the world.
