Ferrin was glad that Jade felt accepted here in the city. And as well as being comfortable around him. The man finished the last few mouthfuls of tea. The thought of Jade and her having the feeling of comfort, made Ferrin felt glad. Ellwyn smiled and switched from Jade to Ferrin as she was eager once again to start the day with hunting. It seemed to Ferrin that it was her favorite thing to do. Well, it was at least something on the tip of her lists on things to do that are possibly "fun."

"Well then. I believe that we're settled on a plan. If you two do not mind, we could get things started."The Kenashian explained with a smile. He didn't want to be rude or impertinent."Yes, I am finished with my drink. It looks like to me, this table can be freely adjourned. Let's just hope we can catch some game today."Yes, Ferrin hoped so as well. He would at least have the opportunity to gain some mizas. Especially, when he was out hunting. The pelts and the meat of the animal was what made the money. Well, here in Syliras at least.

Ellwyn gathered her hunting gear as so do Ferrin. Jade grabbed her stuff together and the trio had soon left the building. After Ferrin relinquished a few Mizas as a tip for the waiter. The day was meant to be taken for as a hunting expedition. So it appeared. Ferrin didn't mind it, no not one bit as the three walked towards the Gates that led out to the Kabrin Road. Ferrin nodded to the guards at the gates as Ellwyn smiled and waved as the two knew each other very well."So Jade, your from Endrykas. Mind telling me a bit about it?"Jade asked the Drykas woman as the three continued down the path to the woods. There is a particular spot where the two, Ferrin and Ellwyn, usually tend to hunt at.

Dirt was kicked up as the three walked on. And spewed only a few centimeters apart from the three beings. The sun was still up, so it hasn't hit the afternoon mark yet. Ferrin was intent on learning more of Jade's culture. Where she came from, how they lived, music, the arts. Anything. He had heard of the Traveling City only a few times at count. And Ferrin would enjoy learning all he could. He could also give more information about Kenash, where he had grown up from. He knew Ellwyn would possibly do the same as well...

Cool Winds, Shady Leaves (Jade Laken)

Postby Jade Laken on January 30th, 2016, 7:10 am

"Sure what all would you like to know?" Jade asked with a smile as the only known art to really show up was the wind marks that bonded riders have.

Jade wanted to know more about the two she would be helping hunt today, but she knew that all her questions would have to be saved for a later time. As much as the young girl wanted to jump into a whole run down of her culture there were things that was forbidden to talk about to outsiders. Then of course there was the heat from her father that she still felt even with him so far away from her at the moment. Tears threatened to well up in the woman's eyes once more from the memory of him trying to forcefully wed her off to another pavilion.

Shaking her head the woman brought her mind back to the current situation hearing her name being called out loudly to get her attention as clearing one of them had asked her something, but while spaced out in her memories the woman had not heard the question.

"Sorry, I was spaced out say again?" Jade asked looking at the two as the tears had finally been blinked away so that the woman could see clearly.

Jade was embarrassed that the two had not only seen her in near tears once but twice in one day. She knew better than to show her emotions; such actions would lead to someone getting injured because no one would be able to focus while on the hunt.

"Oh, thank you Jade. I really appreciate that. So... Anyways. I've been hunting ever since I have wanted to hunt. My father didn't mind as much as he would have,so he shoved the thought away and went along with my choice by teaching me how to hunt. I learned a lot from him.

Ferrin took a look around the somewhat enchaining forest. It was soothing in a way. The word soothing came to mind, the city was crowded and Ferrin did not feel comfortable with all of the people who lived in Syliras. Ferrin didn't mind the crowdedness. Half was the city, and the other half of annoyance of the people in the city. Ferrin gazed out into the woods and remembered the way his father had spoke to him. While he was out hunting.

He was always careful with his words. Ferrins father. The man was, peculiar in a way. And he was somewhat precise with what he said. Though, Ferrin can't remember what his father would say on the top of his head. Still, hunting was... Fun? In a way, yes. Throughout the entirety, no. It's dangerous and it is not a game. But, there can be fun involved. As long as it doesn't get to serious. Ellwyn spoke and interrupted Ferrins track of thought."What's it like in Endrykas. I've heard it's a traveling city and all. But, how do you cope with all of the responsibilities?"Ellwyn was really excited to learn of the Drykas people.

More excited then out to hunt, so to say. Ferrin was interested as well. There's always something you can learn every day. A few miles the three walked. And Ferrin recognized a familiar landscape. There was a clearing, through the woods to the left of the trio. Not to far out, but there was previous evidence of a former campsite. One that stored a burnt down campfire. A few fallen logs which are able to be used for sitting on.

The clearing wasn't big. No, in fact it looked as big enough to hold a few more fallen logs and perhaps one tent. If one would have one on them."Perhaps we could rest there. The Avitar River is only another few miles. That would be where most of the deer graze. From experience. "Ferrin smiled. Half was excitement. And half was already built in soreness of his feet. He cursed quietly to himself. As he thoughtfully complained in his mind of the walking. He knew how long this road could end up to be. He was not expecting to have to walk miles on end to just hunt, and walk/run for another few miles.

Though, the Kenashian hadn't mind entirely. But, it did get annoying after a while. And Ferrin figured that Jade and Ellwyn were getting their feet sore as well. At least, they were at a usual campsite. And not being attacked by wolves. Or territorial aviatory animals. Such as Kriitals. Those petching birds were ever so obnoxious. They were a challenge as wl, to face against one. If you are alone, and weigh about half the weight of the bird that your against. You would have to be pretty stupid to want to attempt and confront the beast.

The three reached the campsite. And Ferrin placed his gear next to him on a fallen log as he had sat. Ellwyn did the same resting her feet with a massage as she rubbed the leather shoes with her fingers and crossed one of her legs over the opposite one."Finally. We can rest now, but only for a half a chime, at most. It looks as if it is near dark already. I swear, these winter days get shorter by the year."Ellwyn stated.

"Yes, it seems like it does. Perhaps we could spend a chime or so out in these woods and head back. We can possibly do a lot within the time frame. What do you two think?"The Kenashian asked as Jade took her seat. Thoughts of family had only been relinquished from the man's mind. As he conversed with the two females. And thought of how their day of hunting might go.

Cool Winds, Shady Leaves (Jade Laken)

"I guess you just learn to cope because from the time you are a child; you are taught how to behave, when it is time to move, when it is time to gather the animals, what dangers are around you, how to tend to the horses, how to pitch your tent at the end of each moving cycle, and we are also taught the importance of bonding to a strider and becoming a true member of the clan," Jade said looking at the two as the three walk finally finding a place to stop and rest.

The young woman did not find the long walk uncommon to make in Endrykas so she found that her feet did not hurt nearly as much as the two appeared to be. Jade sat with her legs cross in front of her watching the two as they rubbed their feet. She knew that later on her feet would tire but at the moment they were fine, and she was ready to continue moving. For the sake of her friends she was more than happy to reign in her excitement to wait for them and make sure neither was injured on their journey.

"How did the two of you meet?" Jade asked looking at the pair before her.

"Oh so. It's a usual thing to get used to. What kind of responsibilities would you have to have? How is the city organized? Like, do you have particular chores that would have to get done? I bet your stallions get worked day and night to get things done. Your culture, what kind of music do you and people enjoy to play, listen to? Do you have any interests in art? Or perhaps, games?"Ellwyn was certainly a speaker.

Ferrin swore that she could out speech anyone against a debate. No matter what the subject one would be debating against."You, Ellwyn are full of questions aren't you?"Ferrin said with a smile. It was merely a taunt, but more prominently a simple compliment. Well, seemingly a compliment. The man tilted his head back towards the depths of the forest as he sat still on the fallen log.

He scanned the clearing for any other sign of life. Footprints, blood trails, anything that might express signs of natuarl life. The man sighed as nothing out of the ordinary came into view. Perhaps Ellwyn can find something? Or even Jade? Ferrin hadn't known how good her hunting skills are. Well, it wouldn't have had mattered if Ferrin was unable to spot anything, what makes it certain that Ellwyn or Jade could find something?

"Ellwyn. Do you think that you can see anything. I'm having trouble to find anything that could lead us to less dangerous encounters." Ferrin sighed once more despair nearly took over as he was merely desperate to catch some game."I can possibly look for something. Anything in particular Ferrin?" Ellwyn smiled as she swiveled her head, her auburn coloured hair almost hitting the man across the face with it. Merely Disturbing.Ferrin thought.Being attacked by ravaged hair, I crack myself up.The thought was partially amusing. Though, it wasn't meant for amusement or fun.

"Anything, anything that can be of significance. To find game?"The boy added a soft tone to his words. So it would feel less, demanding."Ok, I'll see if I can. Ferrin. "Ellwyn took a 360 scan across the clearing. She scanned all about the clearing, through the silence Ferrin thought he might've had heard some rustling. Though, quiet it was. Ferrin couldn't quite understand where the wild animals had ventured to.

Though, the whiteness felt good. And Ferrin could at least relaxe his muscles that had seemed to be tensed. He released a breath of mere relief as he was partially excited that nothing dangerous was in sight." There, about thirty-ish yards. I can see some hoofprints. Not sure which animal. Deer? Gazelle, perhaps a horse or donkey?"Ellwyn could go on, and on with her history and animals with hooves.

"Well, should we follow?"Ferrin pondered for nearly a chime as he chose wether or not, on what to do with that animal. Whatever it was."I guess we, shall. Jade, do you want to follow with us?"

Cool Winds, Shady Leaves (Jade Laken)

Postby Jade Laken on February 3rd, 2016, 6:50 pm

"Sure I will answers your question after we have hunted," Jade assured the girl happy she was so excited to learn more about the Drykas culture. Gray eyes quickly found the area where the woman beside her pointed out the tracks. Jade walked over and kneeled beside them looking over the tracks.

"These aren't horse and donkey tracks far too narrow," Jade said looking up at the pair knowing that a horse's hoof print would be an upside down smile not like what was currently on the ground before the three people.

Jade looked up at the pair to see what they would say in response to her insight not wanting to sound like she knew anything. At the very least she would be able to tell the difference between a deer track, gazelle track, and horse tracks. Besides most horses this far out would be pulling carts or be weighted down by the knights and their armor causing the horse's prints to be deeper from the extra weight. Jade let her gray eyes flicker back down to the tracks and gently put her hand on top as to not disturb the shape of the print, but enough to see how fresh the tracks were.

"To the best of my knowledge the tracks appear fresh," Jade said looking up at the pair as her hair fell down to the left of her as her head was turned looking up at the pair to the right.

The man breathed lightly asbhe walked beside Jade and Ellwyn to examine the hoofprints tracks. From Jade's point of view these tracks didn't appear to be horse prints or donkey prints. So, what were they? Just a little experience the Drykas woman had. Little? Much more than Ferrin had had through his lifetime. That's certainity of course.

"Fresh you say? Or else it could be some trick from mother nature herself. What if it had rained? The tracks would be caked with droplets of water, only preserving its appearance. How can you be so sure?" Ferrin asked curiously, but he mixed the speech with a warmed up tone into the mix. He knelt down beside Jade and examined the tracks more thoroughly. Though, obviously headed through this clearing? Did the animal see the three of them, and perhaps scurried away as if it were a mouse running away from a cat? Or did act like a timid cat and rushed away as if itnheard a thumping noise and had suddenly rushed away in fear?

Ferrin couldn't quite tell, the pace of this animal that beared hooves. Or even so, what it was."Well, from the skips of the prints. It appeared to me that it didn't leave in a hurry. So, if we're lucky we could be a mile or so behind the animal. Whatever it was."Ellwyn stated lightly. She expressed her eagerness as she smiled and already prepared herself for a possible shot at the animal as if it were in front of the three.

Ferrin clutched his longbow as the three followed the tracks of the animal. The clearing had soon disappeared from behind the trio and the sounds of animal life stirred, mixed with crickets and or birds chirping mere sweet lullabies. Crows crowed prominently maliciously as if they know easy game will be caught and were anxiously waiting for the animal to be caught and dead so they could chow and munch on it themselves.

Crows, they were annoying, they were. Perhaps as annoying and obnoxious as a toddler screaming when it had had candy taken away from it. Though, the screaming was much more of a screeching sound that released from the crows. Ellwyn flinelched a couple times as a crow, perched on top of branch nearly ten feet high cawed at the woman. It's wings stretched out and instantly flew off to another tree that seemed to be torn up to mere shreds of wood and wood chips.

Bark peeled out of the branch, as if the crows used it as some massive scratching post. But, the crows were probably not the only ones who had used the tree. There are such other creatures as malicious as the crows themselves. A few chimes had passed and the three could noe see a gazelle, leaning its head downwards drinking water from the river, the Avitar River in fact.

Ah, there it is."Ferrin whispered to the two. The gazelle and its oranges tin mixed with white fur dipped its head in as it continued to drink. Fortunately, there ended up being a boulder for cover, well. For stealth reasons, you don't want to have the animal discover your existence. Ellwyn had prepared there shot and aimed her shortbow of the position where the gazelle had stood. The Syliran pulled her string on the bow, with a couple fingers merely resting the fingers about her side of the face. She took a deep breath and Ferrin waited anxiously as the arrow was released.

The huntress, released her grasp. And the arrow slight whistled throughout the small clearing. A slight thump was released on impact by the force of the arrow. It dug deep into the gazelles side and it whimpered in pain. Though, its whimpering stopped abruptly as it fell with a slight clump onto the hardened earthen ground."Good shot."Ferrin commented. It was fairly good. Though, her aim was slightly Novice like."Guess its time to bring it back to the city."Ellwyn trudged over to the now dead gazelle. Pulled out her arrow and said, "Thank you Ferrin. Now, yes we should carry the beast back to the city. And we could split profit. The three of us."Ellwyn stated as she swiftly placed the arrow of hers back into her quiver. Well, after she had wiped the blood off by dipping the weapon into the Aviator River.

Cool Winds, Shady Leaves (Jade Laken)

"Sounds good to me," Jade said looking up at the woman with a smile happy that she had been able to recognize the difference between a horse track and a gazelle's track.

Jade picked up the animal surprised that it didn't weigh as much as she thought it would. Smiling the girl put the gazelle across her shoulders and turned to her friends.

"Ready when you two are," Jade said with a smile ready to get a move on as the sun had start to set.

Jade walked with the others back towards home. She knew they would need to stop by a butcher shop to get the gazelle skinned and the meat taken off the bone. Jade smiles and laughs with the pair as the three of them finally make it back into town.

"I will run this over to the butcher," Jade said and walked away from her companions whistling as she walked not bothered by the blood rolling down her back.
