The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

Hullo, everyone!

I'm in the process of trying to set up a business (a daunting task for a newbie) but I'm determined to have fun with it. I think, so far, I am ready to delve into RP so if anyone is looking for a thread partner, I'll gladly partake. :)

[OOC] Ivory Heart

Postby Atticus Leslie on March 30th, 2016, 12:58 am

Hey everybody!

So, Lhavit is one of the only (using the term loosely) academic cities in Mizahar, and we have a lot of interesting and brilliant PCs here. I've read a lot of your character sheets and I've really grown to enjoy reading about their adventures. As well as that, I've noticed a great many pursue academic or magic professions, hence this post.

If you would all like, we could generate interest for a science fair, invention convention, or gathering of magic. Maybe even selling some things for some vendors. I've looked through the registry just to make sure there were an ample amount of PCs that could potentially participate, and I think there are a good number. Even if your PC isn't academic, you can still peruse the science fair and visit your friends' displays or maybe develop a new passion!

Of course, this isn't official, nor has it been discussed with our amazing DS Elysium, only because I'm not sure if there's enough interest. So if you would be willing to take part of this in either open threads or smaller, isolated closed threads, please PM this account! Every name helps.

Happy threading! Don't forget to enjoy the Spring Festival! :D

If it could be made far enough for the reaches of Mizahar, Shimoje would travel the instant he found out about such a thing!
Shortly after departure of the Tipsy Wench, a deeply held secret started to show itself as Shimoje's mental stability started to become more clear. His hand will bear the mark of Lykata and glow with a symbol of Lormar.

So I've been healing up from my appendicitis, but with my newfound free time I've been reading a lot of what everyone has been writing in Lhavit.

I just wanted to drop a huge collective compliment to the PCs in this city. The writing here is fantastic, the character interaction supremely fun to watch, and the developing plots absolutely intriguing. Thank you all for writing such great stories! They've been great fun to read!

I also wanted to say that I'll be back to writing health in (hopefully) a few days, so if anyone wants to thread, feel free to drop me a PM :D

ANNOUNCEMENTS

I have heard your pleas citizens! Not to mention, it has been on my mind for a while. Thus Remarkable Things has been reopened for development! Those things that remain there are likely to be accepted. The rest was cleared to start anew.

Please try to use your powers of discernment when it comes to what you submit. Things that are inconsistent with the theme, that are arbitrary or tautological will be either revised or denied. I don't think this will be too much of an issue and I am more than willing to work with people when it comes to developing their locations. But I think we ought to be very deliberate and very careful with what goes into our beloved city.

Atticus, I really appreciate your enthusiasm! However, I don't see Lhavit as an academic place. I understand that you're using the term loosely, but you actually highlight a very good point here and this is an important distinction to make. The worship of Eyris in Lhavit is a sidelight to the overall theme. I'm not attempting to dimish its importance. But the real focus is on Zintila, Syna and Leth.

People who live here are interested in the infinite unknown, on exploring the world through the prism of mysticism as well as what little science is available. More often, their attitude is spiritual. It isn't like Sahova or Zeltiva, where a science fair would perhaps be more appropriate. These aren't people interested in learning for the sake of it. Lhavit may have attributes that when considered in a vacuum, resemble those places to a certain degree, but it crucial to consider those things as merely parts of the greater whole. There are plenty of brilliant minds here. There are Seekers, astronomers, cataloguers, explorers, Wizards and researchers that live here each and every day. But they take what they learn and use it to inform their spiritual practices in their endless endeavor to understand the universe in a holistic and sometimes even hermetic way. So hope that makes sense to you. :)

I really should add some of these things to the Atlas.

Anywho, if you're wondering what the heck is taking so long, the quest will be getting a post very, very soon. Thank you for your patience.

Ely, I was wondering when the Curse of the Sharai Spring thread will be updated again? It looks like a few people are still waiting for their curses to be assigned (I know I am) and I'd love to know if there are any plans... or if I just misunderstood how the whole thing works since I'm actually not sure I got it right.

Anyway, thank you for your great work! Your explanation of Lhavit as a spiritual place was very interesting, I'll definitely keep that in mind while writing here.

Eheh, whoops! I went and sifted through all of my PMs until I found the one you'd sent me Stella and I responded. Speaking of which, if you've sent me a message and I haven't sent one back, you've just been lost in the shuffle. Don't be afraid to prod me if necessary.

To those of you who selected random, be sure to roll a d100 and then send me a message with your result. That way we can reroll as many times as needed until you're satisfied with the outcome! :)

Regarding the quest

Please skip me! I'm going out of town for like a day and a half, so I'll be able to post by Sunday afternoon at the latest. So don't wait for me! Again, I'm really happy to be threading with you all. Please skip me, and I'll post later this weekend.
