Race: Eypharian
Birthday: 3rd of Fall, 486 AV (24 Years Old)
Gender: Male

Physical Description

Rhode stands tall at 6'4", weighing a healthy 195 lbs. He keeps his short, black hair in line, and his amber eyes are accentuated by the kohl he applies around his eyes. Having six arms, and his trusty comb in his possession at all times, it is not uncommon for him to start managing his hair when he's bored. Blessed with good looks, he takes care of his personal appearance, and should he ever suffer a dangerous wound, he will do all he can to prevent major scarring. This is not because he is a man of vanity, however -- to an Eypharian born in Ahnatep, this is simply standard practice. Looking good is as much a chore to Rhode as good hygiene is for (most) people.

Character Concept

Rhode is haughty to a fault, and as expected from an Eypharian, looks down on other races as nothing more than filthy animals. While this is primarily due to the dogma instilled by an Eypharian upbringing, his time spent among the other races hasn't done much to contradict what he has been taught. Should another person prove to him that they are worthy of existing, he would then treat them as something other than garbage, though other Eypharians, and even Dhani, are already a step ahead of everyone else. While he won't go out of his way to insult everyone he meets, Rhode becomes agitated quite easily when annoyed by unsolicited company. To other Eypharians, Rhode is a poor representation of their people, as his unrestrained, and often violent, nature is a slight on the sophisticated methodology of the standard Eypharian, though other races might not readily make that distinction. He is not a man of excessive bravado, neither consuming alcohol or partaking in the act of boasting, but he will never suffer an attack on his pride, and would rather fight than resort to diplomacy.

Character History

Born and raised in Ahnatep, Rhode's father was a Jackal and his mother was a painter. His father, when not on duty, helped condition him for one day joining the Jackals by teaching him the basics of unarmed combat. His mother tried to turn him towards painting, which Rhode initially took a liking to. A lack of inspiration, however, led him to spend his free time practicing his fighting technique instead, though his mother never stopped trying to get him back into the realm of painting.

When he was 17 years old, Rhode's father passed away from disease, and his mother sunk into a deep depression, and after weeks of being unable to cope with her loss, made a quiet prayer to the goddess Dira, and took her own life. Rhode, now alone in Ahnatep, decided to make his own place in the world, and left the city, touring with traders and merchants as hired muscle. After building up a good sum of Mizas, and tired of running protection for people he didn't like, he decided to try his luck in the city of Syliras.

NAME DESCRIPTION INFO
Basic Anatomy Pummeling lesser races is a great crash course in anatomy. Still, it's funny how a punch to the throat seems to work on just about everyone...except those blasted monkeys... STARTING PACKAGE
Unofficial Jackal Training I know it pales in comparison to actually training with Jackals, but my father did teach me some of his basic tactics and exercise routines. That's better than nothing, right? STARTING PACKAGE
Racism in Syliras It looks like there's a racial pecking order here in Syliras, one that favors Humans over other races. Whatever lets them sleep well at night, I suppose. A Favor
Interest in Lesser Races I was beginning to think that I'd never find anything respectable in the lesser races, until I met Seven. He may not have earned my respect, but he proved that there are people of interest, even in the lesser races. A Favor
Symenestra (Basic) The Symenestrans: pale skin, frosty hair, long limbs, and really, really easy to break. A Favor
A Distorted Reflection When you look into a warped mirror, there are still certain features that you can distinguish in the disfigured reflection that tell you that you're looking at yourself. By applying this concept to a different race, it's amazing to find someone that isn't an Eypharian who possesses traits similar to myself. A Favor

Equipment and Possessions

# NAME INFO VALUE
STARTING PACKAGE
1 1 Pair of Low Boots (Leather) A pair of old leather boots, worn from months of travel. They have served me well, and they will continue to do so. 0.30 GM
2 1 Pair of Pants (Cotton) Stripped these off a foolhardy bandit a few months back. Not quite my size, and hardly fashionable, but at least they breathe easy. 0.10 GM
3 1 Belt (Leather) A durable brown strip of leather, it keeps my pants around my waist. I suppose it could be used for other things, too. 0.20 GM
4 1 Jerkin (Cotton) This brown thing is uglier than a Myrian, but it's perfect for wiping up blood. Oh, and wearing, I guess. 0.60 GM
5 1 Shirt (Cotton) These white cotton shirts are great for wearing under, well, just about everything. 0.10 GM
6 1 Waterskin There's a reason the oceans aren't filled with liquor: water's healthy, liquor's not. 1.00 GM
7 1 Backpack You might say it's my Bag of Holding...things. 2.00 GM
7A 1 Comb 'Looking good' starts with keeping your hair in shape. 0.00 GM
7B 1 Brush Combined with the power of the Comb, the evils of 'bedhead' are nothing to fear. 0.00 GM
7C 1 Razor Some men like to shave with huge blades, as a testament to manliness, but it's a good razor's edge that makes for a pretty face. 0.00 GM
7D 1 Bar of Soap I'm not too fond of the scent, but it's much better than smelling like dirt and manure. 0.50 GM
7E 1 Basic Makeup Kit The reason I use eye-liner? Because I'm better than you, of course. 0.00 GM
7F 7 Meals (Common) Regular intake of food is necessary for everyone, but I only eat the things that keep me strong. 3.50 GM
7G 1 Eating Knife Only a practical weapon when fighting a dead, properly cooked animal. 0.00 GM
7H 1 Flint and Steel Kit A day will come when I hear the words "Come on, baby, light my fire". And I will be prepared. 1.00 GM

WEAPONS
1 6 Knuckledusters One for each hand, of course. Go ahead, make my day. 3.00 GM
ARMOR
1 1 Suit of Padded Armor (Chest) Only protects the upper body, but it doesn't restrict my movements like a clunky suit would. The green and brown coloring scheme doesn't suit my taste, but I can't really complain. 5.00 GM

Character Development

General Information :
1. What is your Name? Rhode. I don't care to know yours, though.
2. Do you go by a nickname or pet name? 'Ser Rhode', or 'Master Rhode', if you like. That is what you meant, right?
3. How old are you? 24.
4. What is your height? Six feet and, I don't know, four, five inches?
5. What is your weight? I don't know, I don't make a habit of weighing myself like a fisherman's catch.

Aesthetics :
1. Describe yourself as you see yourself. I'm a free spirit. I do what I like and I go where I please.
2. Describe yourself as others typically see you. Strong, beautiful, and all-around amazing. How could anyone think otherwise?
3. What is your favorite body feature? That part of the neck where it meets the shoulder.
4. How physically fit are you? Fit enough that I'm not dead yet, and getting fitter all the time.
5. How do you typically dress and what is your style? Believe me, I'd be wearing a skirt and sandals of the greatest quality, if I thought anyone outside of Ahnatep was worth the effort to impress. Simple clothes for living with simple people, in the meantime.

Family :
1. Who are your parents and what are they like? My father was a Jackal. I think he might have been a Hawk one day, if he hadn't been killed by disease. My mother was a magnificent painter, but she lost it entirely after father passed on.
2. Do you have any brothers or sisters? Not a one.
3. What is your extended family like? I think I met them once when I was just a toddler. I don't remember anything else about them, though.
4. Do you consider close friends as important or more/less important than family? I guess if I had any, I could.
5. Do you treat animals like family? Ha ha haaa...you must be joking.

Location :
1. Where were you born? Ahnatep, born and raised.
2. Where do you live now? I've got a place in Stormhold Citadel. Not that I spend too much time there.
3. If you could live anywhere in Mizahar where would that be? Well, I guess one day, I might return to Ahnatep. Otherwise, Black Rock sounds promising.
4. Do you have a favorite place to vacation or spend leisure time? Leisure time is time better spent training, honestly.
5. Where do you fear to be? Why would I fear a place? It's the things within you have to be careful around.

Traits :
1. Do you have any physical weaknesses (disease, scars, and missing limbs?) I'm healthy, and I'd like to keep it that way.
2. Are you right handed or left handed? That's a joke, right? I've got six hands, I use them all for the same thing.
3. What languages do you speak? What do you sound like? Do you have an accent? Naturally, Arumenic is my first, and best language. When I first left Ahnatep, my Common was pretty clumsy, but I've hammered out most of it. I know a bit of Snake-Tongue, but just enough to ask for directions, and simple things like that. I don't think my Common has an accent...
4. Do you have any odd mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? Well, now that you mention it, I sometimes start combing my hair absentmindedly when I get really bored. I don't even realize I'm doing it...like right now, for instance.
5. Do you have (or want to get) any tattoos or piercing? Why do you have them (or will get them) ? I don't have any right now, but I probably wouldn't have too much of a problem with getting them. As long as it looked good.

Occupations :
1. What is your occupation? What I do to pay the bills isn't my occupation. My true occupation is beating the pulp out of people with my fists.
2. Do you like/dislike your work? Why? Oh, absolutely! There's nothing like the feeling of pummeling another person into submission with your fists. The sheer thrill of it all...
3. If you could be anything you wanted to, what would you be? Honestly, despite all the crap I have to put up with, I couldn't be happier. I get to train the way I want to, live life the way I want to...what more could one ask for?
4. What occupation do you admire the most? Why? I suppose I admire the Syliran Knights, but not for their ideals, or their morals, or prowess. They spend their lives upholding their own beliefs, which is exactly what I'm trying to do. If the Syliran Knights shared my ideals, I'd join right up. But we don't. Still, the Knights are easily the only redeeming quality I've found in humanity. Fighting a Syliran Knight would be magnificent. A fight between two people empowered by what they believe in -- that's the best kind of fighting.
5. What occupation do you least like? Why? The life of a mercenary, or a soldier, or whatever. You're stuck fighting for someone who's not strong enough to fight for themselves, and you're expected to care about their problems, live by their standards? That's disgusting, and I'm through with that. The only way I'd ever go back to that way of living is if I got to do things my own way. I can't imagine too many traders would accept that.

Childhood :
1. What sort of child were you? I like to think that I was a decent kid. I got into my share of fights, sure, but I never killed anyone.
2. What is your favorite memory from childhood? I don't want to talk about it.
3. What is your worst memory from childhood? If I didn't want to tell you the best part of my childhood, what makes you think I'd tell you the worst?
4. What sort of relationship did you have with your parents? We were happy, when we were all alive.
5. Who was your most influential rolemodel? My father. Without him, I wouldn't have found the resolve to leave Ahnatep and carve my own niche in the world.

Education :
1. What sort of education do you have? Basic, of course. I'm not stupid, after all. I know a good bit of fighting, too.
2. Do you like/dislike learning? Learning is required for improvement. But I guess I dislike learning things that have no relevance to my goals.
3. Where or how did you learn most of your skills/abilities? Besides what my father taught me, most of my training is self-taught. I've met a few other fist-fighters in my travels, and I've been able to emulate some of their techniques, but still, it's mostly practice and experience.
4. How do you learn best? By doing, naturally.
5. What are your educational goals for the future? To get better, of course. There's no such thing as a master fighter, so I'll always have a higher goal to strive towards.

Relationships :
1. Do you form close bonds with people? Why? Why not? Please, I hardly consider the people around me "people".
2. Do you trust people easily? If not, why not? I have no reason to distrust them, but that doesn't mean I'll just take everything they're saying as the truth.
3. Do you consider yourself straight, gay, bi, or something else? The female form is particularly exquisite. I've never been with other men before, so who knows? Maybe I'd like it. Doubtful, but still.
4. Have you ever been kissed? If so, describe the first time. Yes. But no, I'm not telling you. It's embarassing.
5. Have you ever had sex? If so, describe the first time. Of course I have, but once again, no, I'm not telling you. But not because it's embarrassing. That's just not something you talk about.

Drugs and Alcohol :
1. Have you ever been drunk? If so, describe your first time. Never. It's difficult to keep your mind and body under control when you're poisoning yourself with liquor.
2. Do you like to drink on a regular basis? No.
3. What sort of alcohol do you prefer? I said 'No'!
4. Have you ever tried drugs (mood altering substances)? If so, which kinds and what did you think of them? Of course not.
5. What do you think of drugs and alcohol? Be specific. Vices for making a miserable life less miserable, for a very short period of time. Honestly, killing yourself would be cheaper, and faster.

Likes and Dislikes :
1. What are your hobbies? I'm a fighter. There's nothing else.
2. Do you like to read? Well, I don't dislike reading, but it's not like I set aside time for it.
3. What annoys you more than anything else? The presence of lesser races. But I put up with it, as much as I can.
4. What do you find the most relaxing activity to do? Training can be very relaxing.
5. What kinds of things embarrass you? Why? Being embarrassed embarrasses me. I don't like being made a fool of.

Favorites :
1. What is your favorite color or colors? I suppose the true black clothes that they have in high society in Ahnatep look really good. I wouldn't mind a set of armor in true black.
2. What is your favorite time of day? I'm not partial to any particular time.
3. What is the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen? My mother's last painting before my father died. It was an abstract piece. She told me it was whatever I wanted it to be. To me, it was the end result of my training. I can only hope that one day, I can recreate that masterpiece in combat.
4. What do you like to eat? What do you hate to eat? Meat, cooked properly. As for things I love, but have to force myself to not eat, sweets and pastries. They'll ruin me, I swear.
5. What is your favorite type of weather? Does any kind scare you? Any sort of precipitation makes it a pain to train outside. And the sun can be such a pain at times. I guess a nice, overcast day would be ideal.

Outlook :
1. Are you optimistic or pessimistic? Pessimistic, definitely. Mizahar's denizens have left me pretty disappointed so far.
2. What are your religious views? I don't lean any which way. I guess a quick prayer to Dira every once in a while never hurts, though. We all kick the bucket one day, so it helps to be on good terms with the Goddess of Death when it happens.
3. Would you be able to kill? Not a problem.
4. What are your views on sex? It is what it is.
5. What, in your opinion, makes a successful life? Living for yourself, doing what you believe is right. It doesn't matter if it actually is right, just so long as it's what you truly believe in.

Actions :
1. What is the worst and best thing you’ve ever done? Worst thing? I set one of my mother's paintings on fire when I was a kid. I didn't realize that some things just aren't replaceable until then. As for the best thing, I once punched a human bandit so hard in the nose that he just died, right there. It's probably the only time I've killed someone in a single blow.
2. What is your greatest regret? Regret implies that I did something that I wasn't proud of. I live for myself, so I don't have regrets.
3. What is your best/worst memory? I don't necessarily favor any memory over another. The worst would definitely be when I found my mother dead in our house.
4. If you could change one thing about your past, what would it be and why? I wouldn't change a thing.
5. What are you the most proud of doing in your life? Living for myself. That's my greatest pride.

Emotions :
1. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings with others? Honest. Brutally honest. I can be deceptive when the need requires, however.
2. Do you have any biases or prejudices? What do you think?
3. What makes you happy? Fighting makes me happy.
4. Who or what, if anything, would you die for? The only one I'd die for is myself. Dira gets all of us in the end, so sacrificing one life to prolong another is just a wasted effort.
5. What makes you angry? Insults to my pride, and people who lack the conviction to stand up for themselves.

Relationships :
1. In general, how do you treat others? Just like the garbage they are.
2. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? Myself, of course.
3. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? My father. He taught me everything I knew when I left Ahanatep.
4. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If not, describe an ideal lover. My ideal match? Someone just as strong and determined to live for their ideals as I am.
5. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why. No. I protect myself.

Group Situations :
1. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict? I don't waste time with words. If someone wants to disagree, they can prove their point with a fight.
2. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations? I have no desire to lead others, but I have no desire to take orders. I do my own thing.
3. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not? Not at all, especially if these groups of people are comprised of weak individuals.
4. Do you care what others think of you? Not at all.
5. What do you think of others, in general? I prefer not to acknowledge them.

Self Image :
1. What is your greatest strength as a person? My strength and conviction.
2. What is your greatest weakness? I suppose I am quick to jump into a fight over something small.
3. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I wouldn't change a thing.
4. Are you generally introverted or extroverted? I'm an introvert. Training alone is amazing, while being around inferior creatures is such a buzzkill.
5. Are you generally organized or messy? Organized. I don't even see how one could get anything done with a messy lifestyle.

Beliefs :
1. What God or Goddess do you find most appealing, if any? Well, there's always Dira, just waiting for the end of our lives to come. A few of the guys I traveled with were into Krysis, too. She's not all bad, I suppose.
2. Which God or Goddess do you fear, if any? I fear no God or Goddess.
3. Do you have any Gnosis Marks? If so, how did you receive them? Not a one, and I doubt I'll ever get any. You get marks for being the lapdog of a higher being, and I'm just not content with that.
4. What lengths would you go to to please your deity? I'll say a prayer every once in a while. Don't expect anything more.
5. Where do you draw the line at pleasing your deity? What is too much? Telling me how to live my life? No thanks.

Life & Death :
1. What do you absolutely live for? I live for living, for fighting, for being an embodiment of my concept of perfection.
2. What is the best part of life? Testing one's ideals and power against the ideals and power of another person. The whole concept of "dueling" makes life so much fun.
3. What is the best part of death? There's nothing great about it. It's just something that comes, whether you want it to or not. So I guess the greatest part about death is the inevitability of it all. Even if you don't manage to kill someone you hate, you can rest assured that they're still going to die.
4. If you could choose, how would you want to die? Fighting against a powerful opponent. Even better if it's someone I respect.
5. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death? I don't care about being remembered, it's all about the "here and now".
