Physical Description:

Melanie is a slender, small woman, weighing 120 pounds and standing roughly at 5'3." She possesses the dark hair, skin, and eyes of her race, and a dark look in her eye's to match. Her shoulder length hair has a few feather's braided into it, and she wears a few beads around her neck, wrists, and ankles, mainly to hide a few of the scars she's accumulated over the ears.

Melanie dresses light. A simple faded red dress, but when the nights are cold, she has a cloak made from brown buffalo hide.

Character Concept:

Melanie is a dark, brooding personality. She can be cheery and pleasant, but if you get on her bad side, you will bear the consequences for some time. Normally quiet, Melanie were speak her mind if her emotions are peaked.

Despite her mistrust for others, she will begrudgingly help those around her. It's not that she enjoys "doing the right thing," it's just that not everyone is helpful, and she could certainly use the karma.

Character History:

Melanie's father was a Suli medicine man. She had a simple, enjoyable childhood, and learned her father's trade with little difficulty. Melanie was the only daughter out of her father's four children, and easily her father's pride and joy. As she came of age, her father arranged a marriage with one of his old friend's sons. She had met him a few times, and could see he was a bad child who grew up to be a wicked, awful man. She spent a few year's as his wife, and fortunately for her, never produced a child with him.

One night, in a fit of insomnia, Melanie was outside looking at the stars, and when she returned to her husband's tent, she found that he had been stabbed in cold blood in the night. Seeing this as the opportunity she had been waiting for, she took as many things as she could and fled.

Knowing that she would be blamed for his murder after leaving him in the night like this (it was well known Melanie was miserable), she made the decision to leave the desert forever, and start a new life elsewhere.
