12th of Winter, 511 AV Alric clutched his new coat close to his body as a vicious wind tore through the street. Alric had had quite a good season since opening his business. He had made more Miza than he had ever seen at one time. Probably his whole life, now that he thought about it. He had been able to afford a proper coat just as winter began to descend upon Alvadas. A white furred beauty of a thing. The man had called it a "Winterbane" robe. Alric certainly thought it was aptly named, as it masterfully kept the chilling wind from cutting into his flesh. He had spent more than he was ready too, but he was certain that his purchases would come in handy in the future. As he skipped over a puddle, he held fast to the rapier he had bought to keep it from jingling. He hadn't meant to buy a weapon, but the man who had sold it was rather persuasive. After all, magic could only get you so far without driving you mad. And so, it would be extremely handy to learn to wield it. Granted, Alric had no idea how to use it at the moment, but he had a good idea as to who may be able to teach him. As he turned a corner, hoping to find his home waiting for him, the street narrowed, the only buildings being businesses and long-abandoned shacks. The street was slick with a mysterious goo that Alric thought it best not to think about. His stomach growled as he strutted across the street. Alric was rather hungry, and he had no way of knowing when he'd be allowed to reach the Wilmot Manor. Alvadas was not always on friendly terms with him, and he didn't want to spend any more time than he had to in the chilling weather. With those thoughts, he spotted The Withered Rose, a restaurant he had gone to maybe a total of 7 times within his entire life. All of which were celebrations, and even then his Father was adamant about not making it a habit. Still, he was climbing up on the ladder of life, and he thought it might not be so bad to celebrate that fact. With a flurry of movement he huddled his coat closer to his body and headed over, intent on enjoying a hot meal and escaping the cold. |
