Physical Description
Name: Akarn "The Nameless"
Race: Drykas
Age: 17
Birthday: 16th day of summer, 495AV
Height: 6'0"

Akarn is not overly tall for a Drykas warrior nor is he small. He has a very athletic build from all of the work he has had to endure throughout his crossing of the Sea of Grass. His skin is of a tannish color, almost of an earthen tone due to his constant exposure to the sun.

The Drykas warrior has hair born of midnight. His hair is like much of his race, long but can usually be found tied back by an thin intricately knotted piece of leather with a small bead at its center.

Akarn's windmarks run down his left side, wrapping up around his left arm and he also has a knotted infinity tattoo between his shoulder blades. Akarn has a scar on his right side between two of his ribs.

Character Concept

Akarn is not like a typical Drykas, the world has shaped his mannerism a little differently. For a Drykas he seems a little more reserved and not quite as loud as his brethren. He is however still direct and when he needs to make a point he will make it and not cover it with any hidden meaning.

He has a code of honor within himself and it goes down to his very core. He believes that a person's word should be their bond and if you have not earned it then it does not belong to you.

Akarn is a gentle soul but out of necessity has become a fierce warrior. He does not practice the flute like he did as a young boy, now on his free time he spends most of it in trying to improve his combat skills. Everyone returns to the grass but a warrior should do so in a sea of blood.

Character History

Akarn was born to Jaden RiverWalker and his wife Anisa RedGrass (Ruby Clan). Jaden RiverWalker of the Diamond Clan was the Ankal of the RiverWalker Pavilion. Jaden had taken over as Ankal right before his son's birth with the passing of Akarn's grandfather. Jaden was killed on an outing with Shyll (Jadens younger brother) and Akarn. Shyll now rules the clan and has taken Anisa as his second wife.

Akarn is the oldest of 5 children, the other 4 being his sisters. When Akarn was born, Jaden spent every waking moment training and teaching his son way of the Drykas. Akarn has fond memories of those times with his father, and it is where he learned to ride, hunt and to fight. Those times are also scattered with the memories of his mother and her fancy knot work and carvings. With her gentle hand, she guided him through crafting many small figurines and his flute.

That is where is happy childhood memories end. Ingrained heavily in his mind is the outing with his father and his uncle. He knows the truth of what happened that day and not the lies his uncle has probably told. That day with his father's blood soaking in the ground, he locked in to combat with his uncle. Fate does not favour the young with experience, and Akarn lost the duel to the older Shyll. The young Drykas lay defeated and bleeding, and his uncle exacted a terrible oath from his nephew. Now Akarn wanders the Sea of Grass, nameless, having sworn to never return to his pavilion.

Akarn lives with the shame of his defeat from Shyll even though he was only 15 at the time. He prays to Zulrav for the power to return one day and to aid him in his training. The day will come when he can return and remove his uncle as Ankal. Though his uncle does not belong there, Akarn knows through his father's teachings that if he challenged his uncle now, it would bring a curse upon the Pavilion as it would be viewed much like a son removing the father. Akarn knows when he returns, he must do so with a cloak of honor, and when that time comes, his fellow Drykas will be able to see the thread of truth in his words and deeds and past his uncle's venom.


Maverous

Maverous is a magnificent strider stallion standing at 16.2 hh. He has a silver dapple coat and inquisitive dark brown eyes. Maverous bonded with Akarn when they were both young. Maverous and Akarn have been through a lot together. Their bond though not unique amongst their kind appears unbreakable.
