A question about an Alembic

Hi so I saw on the price list an Alembic but is there any way to know about how large it would be? Thanks.

I can find very little information on the sizes of alembics, even on the general internet. Near as I can tell, most alembics (probably?) range from 3 liters to 20 liters.

The price list has both "Alembic" and "Alembic, Greater", but I'm not sure if the difference is in size or material. The greater alembic is made of glass and used exclusively for Philtering, but it could also be bigger.

It might help if I knew more about why you are asking. Are you concerned about capacity? Portability? Weight? How specific do you need your numbers?

That's the best I can do to answer that for now, and I'm not at all confident about anything I just said. If I find more solid information I'll let you know. For now, I'll defer to anyone who has a stronger opinion on this

Thanks for the help I was concerned about the capacity of it, because I was wanting it to be used more for distilling of liquor.

Like, on a large scale? I think the alembic in the price list would be portable enough to at least carry by hand, if not stuff in a backpack. You might be able to brew a little at a time in it...

If you wanted something big enough to take up a whole room, you might be looking more toward purchasing a property with the necessary equipment. Take a look at the Land and Buildings section of the price list, to get a better idea of how that works. Building/buying a specialized structure is expensive and may take several seasons of roleplay to save enough money for, but among the types of rooms you can have is a Brewery, which I assume would have the equipment you are looking for.

I definitely was not hoping for anything commercial sized, more like something that would make like maybe a gallon or so at a time. But thanks for the help.
