Zisien crunched her way through the snow. She wasnt entirely sure if it was an odd sight to see a giant polar bear with a backpack hanging from its mouth or not, but at the moment she didn't care. She was excited because today was the designated day that her and Azu had agreed upon to have their friendly little boxing wager.

Zisien was at the Red Diamond taverns two nights ago and randomly decided to sit with an unfamiliar face. She mainly did so to grill the poor unexpected visitor in a game of 'Ask 100 questions until they got annoyed' but also because she came alone and wanted company for the night.

The kelvic managed to get a few things out of the brunette before the topic of boxing, hand to hand and unarmed combat came up. Zisien wasn't one to brag but had mentioned it was one of her hobbies despite not liking violence much but needed a way to protect herself.

Azu had lightly joked with her that he had been practicing since a cub so he was fairly sure he was better than her and if they were to spar he would sure to win. He didnt think Zisien would take it to heart, but she took up the other kelvic's offer.

"Deal! We meet in two days time at the tundra at the 12th afternoon bell. Its the outdoor arena here in Avanthal. Trust me you cant miss it."Zisien said excitedly before waving good bye to Azu and promptly leaving a very confused wolf behind.

Zisien looked to have arrived first so she sat down by the entrance, as much as a polar bear can, and waited for the other kelvic to arrive.

[The Tundra Stadium] The proper way to throw a punch (Azu)

Postby Azu on September 8th, 2013, 7:47 am

Azu was in his wolf form and was dragging his sack through the snow on the way to the arena with his tail. "Todays the day lets see how good how she say she is." He chuckled to himself and then he started to remember the night at the tavern that he met the other kelvic. The other kelvic was boasting about she was good when it came to hand to hand combat especially in boxing. Azu chuckled again and thought," If shes good at boxing or any sort of unarmed combat it will be interesting and fun I was thought I was the only boxing kelvic, but shows the world is full of surprises." When he thought that he started to remember his father teaching him boxing and telling him that the world is full of fighters of different styles. He shook his head and looked up and was getting close to the arena and saw a polar bear. "I cant believe she was serious about this when I wasn't, but it will be fine its a sparring match anyway." He reaches the entrance and dropped his stuff next to the polar bear and looks at the polar bear and says, "Glad to see you made it Zisien, hope you are ready for our sparring match." He chuckles and puts his head in his bag rustling through it.
"Doesn't matter how hard you can hit, It matters how hard you get hit and keep moving forward."

The Tundra was a daunting structure among the homely architecture of the rest of Avanthal. Mostly made of steel it almost seemed out of place. The entrance way was guarded by past Icewatch members and had a bit of a somber effect on the polar bear. She always had a silly dream as a cub to be one day be emblazed among the greats here. Just a silly kid dream..

Zisien didn't have to wait long before she smelt a wolf approaching. The wolf was dark brown in color and about 32 inches in the shoulder, a bit smaller than the native wolves up here in the north. The kelvic was trying to size up her opponent since she was unable to do so fully in the dimly lit tavern. Azu was carrying bag of his own and plopped it next to Zisien.

The wolf chuckled out some form of greeting but Zisien was unable to understand him in his wolf form. The most she could get out of it was her name. To avoid further confusion, Zisien just shifted back to her human form. Modesty was not something she was used to, so being completely nude in front of the wolf wasn't uncomfortable.

"Sorry I didnt catch any of that, but glad you can make it. I could hardly wait until I got off duty today." Zisien bubbled as she slung her backpack onto her shoulder."Ready to go inside?"

The silver hair girl could barely wait for Azu to change and was already starting to back up into the entrance in an attempt to indirectly say hurry up. She realized he had only gotten there but she was starting to get an adrenaline rush which only fueled her antsy movements further. For some reason she had no idea why she was so excited about this. Just a friendly spar or not, she would rather avoid conflict but instead her she is ready to fight this man. Zisien shrugged her shoulders,"Morwen works in mysterious ways."

[The Tundra Stadium] The proper way to throw a punch (Azu)

Postby Azu on September 8th, 2013, 10:16 am

Azu noticed that the polar bear changed into a silver haired woman and she wasn't wearing any kind of clothing. Azu shakes his head and thought," I know kelvics don't much about modesty, but I still cant used to it." He then went through his bag and grabbed his gloves and then transformed into his human form. Azu cracked his neck and puts on his leather gloves and goes through his bag and puts some shorts and his jacket.

Zisien was in a rush to get to the sparring match, Azu thought to himself, " Why is she so pumped? Whatever it is, Its getting me excited too." He smiled and starts to walk to Zisien as she ran inside the Arena. Azu entered the arena after Zisien and he couldn't believe how big the arena was, it reminded him of coliseums that his dad showed him in his hometown." This place isn't like the streets of home that's for sure," he said under his breath.

He then got some distance between him and Zisien and started doing some warm ups and stretching exercises. Azu turned his back to Zisien for a moment and pulls out his necklace and opens it and shows the sketch of his parents," I'll do my best" he said in a hush tone then he puts his necklace away. He looked over to Zisien and she was getting ready for the spar too. Azu bounces on his feet and a big smile appeared and was ready for the spar,"This is going to be fun and good luck!" he shouted to Kisien
"Doesn't matter how hard you can hit, It matters how hard you get hit and keep moving forward."

Zisien impatiently waited for the wolf to finish getting dressed before continuing into the stadium. Looking over her shoulder, to make sure he was following her. From the entrance it wasn't very far to the open training area. One half of it was a frozen field where Ice reavers could practice and the other half was a traditional gym of sorts. The ring where Azu and Zisien were to spar was on this half.

Once they reach the big open arena, the silver hair kelvic moved off to the side of the gym equipment, and placed her bag on a bench. Crouching down she rummaged through her bag to pull out her work out clothes. Like most clothes in Avanthal, it was all white in color. Grimacing at the stark bright color, she slipped them on easily. The were form fitting but breathable.

Zisien peeked a look over her shoulder at Azu, he was already warming up with his gloves on. Frowning at his boxing gloves, the wolf would have the weapon advantage. She wouldn't be able to use her gauntlets against him, so started taping up her fingers.

Once finished taping her finger, or at least as much as she can by herself she tested the feel of it. Satisfied she started her own warm up by stretching and throwing mock punches. Zisien was already missing the weighted feel of her gauntlets.

[The Tundra Stadium] The proper way to throw a punch (Azu)

Azu started making his way the other side of the arena to the gym ring. He saw Zisien taping her hands and practicing her combinations. He then noticed his hands and their were in gloves and began to think to himself and rolls into the ring. He practiced his combinations some more and stretched. He turned his back to Zisien and secretly unlaced his gloves and kept practicing his combos.

He walked to the ropes and said, "Ready when you are." He smiled and went to his corner and kept going. He begins to quietly speak to himself," Man I have to keep moving this place is pretty cold, I even had trouble in my wolf form." He jumps in place and doing warm ups to keep his body temperature up, so that way he wont freeze during the match. Azu couldn't stop and stare at the other kelvic, prepping for the spar.

Azu began started doing squats and thinks again," How should I approach this? Its been sometime since I been in a spar." He couldn't stop thinking of the match,"Ive always sparred against men, but never a women, but I wont hold back, after all its a spar." He reached his corner and is facing it and nods. He then turned and dropped his gloves to the ground and slide them to the side and made sure his tape wasn't loose. He turns around and puts his hands behind him and smiles.

"Lets get ready to SSPPPAAARRRR!!!!" Azu couldn't help, but to chuckle and thinks,"Shouldnt quit my day job." He smiled and is ready for his sparring partner.

When it came to fighting, Zisien always went into a zone. It was almost like everything was slowed down and she was able to analyze the situation fully. For a person watching it looked like the polar bear was in a daze and wasn't paying attention. She would like to think of it as instinct or Morwen watching out for her. Whatever it truly was, she was grateful for it, because she really didn't like fighting.

Zisien noticed Azu had already slid into the ring and was continuing to warm up in there. Well more like literally trying to stay warm. The silver hair kelvic forgot Azu didn't have a gnosis mark from Morwen. So the frigid temperatures in this city of everwinter, would probably freeze him if he wasn't careful enough.

She was back to being pumped up about this fight. The polar bear realized it was because she haven't had a chance to practice her skills against someone outside of the Icewatch. She was eager to see his style of fighting and maybe even pick up a few moves along the way.

Most of the Icewatch or at least the Vantha half used some form of polearm and a few used swords. Zisien even thought about using a polearm at one point but decided against it. The silver hair kelvic smiled at her own private thought about her weapon choice. The best way Zisien could explain her style of fighting was that it was a lot of hard strikes with her hands and elbows. Kicking techniques were part of it as well but for the sake of this match, Zisien would leave them out.

Throwing two more punches, she took her place at her corner and turned to face Azu. When she was surprised by him yelling, "Let's get ready to SPARRRRRRR". Zisien was taken back but recovered quickly and smiled at the wolf. "Heh, yeah lets do this."

[The Tundra Stadium] The proper way to throw a punch (Azu)

Postby Azu on September 10th, 2013, 6:21 am

Azu smiled as he made his way to the ring, still having his hand behind his back. He didn't want to let the other kelvic know that he took off his gloves for a even match. He chuckled at the thought and stood in front of his partner, he was a bit taller than his opponent. He noticed the mark on her right shoulder and stared at it a bit and thought," Wonder what that mark is for?" He kept looking then he started to remember his past.

He remembered that his parents will always talk about the different gods and goddess, but Azu was hardly around to hear about them. He just finds it odd that a polar bear kelvic bears that mark and yet he doesn't. He shook his head and looked at his partner. He studied his partner and noticed that she was a bit more athletic then him, but he would be able to keep up with her at ease. He always considered himself the underdog, because he likes to show that no matter the odds, its anyone's game.

When his father taught him the ways of boxing, his father always say 'Its one on one and no matter what happens you always speak with your fists then your mouth.' He always kept that to heart and that's why he always focused on his striking power and his speed. He's on the defensive, that enables him to study his opponents movements and combos, then he would counter them in anyway. When it came to close quarter combat, he wont back down til either he or his opponent is ko'ed.

He stood in there center of the ring waiting for Zisien to come to the center. "Hope I didn't scare you with that yelling I did earlier." He chuckled and kept moving around keeping his body warm til the sparring started. "Hope I can last in this weather, but over do it and it will be very bad for me." He was exhaling seeing the mist coming from his mouth and waiting for Zisien to begin the match.

Zisien had noticed Azu staring at her right shoulder where here gnosis mark was. The small snowflake was a mark of Morwen that her children received when they came of age. Just one mark alone helped them from feeling the frigid temperatures of Avanthal and the waste. It wasn't completely fool proof though. One could still freeze to death if exposed to harsh weather for extreme long periods of time. Right now it was just at freezing point and Zisien was completely comfortable.

Azu on the otherhand wasn't fairing so well. Best to get this underway or the wolf is subject to freeze first Zisien thought to herself. She made her way to the center of the ring where Azu was waiting for her. The polar bear took her fighting stance and smirked at the wolf.

Zisien then noticed Azu wasn't wearing his boxing gloves anymore and slightly frowned that he took them off. Nothing I can do about it now. She slowly crept to the right, hoping to find a weak spot early. Azu had a tight defense his hands close to his face and arms straight. Zisien will have to be aggressive to break through it seems. Quickly launching herself forward, she threw a right jab straight at his face. Weak thought to think just one punch would break his defenses but she wanted to test the waters. The polar bear followed up with a elbow strike.

Azu guarded against the polar bear strikes and felt some pain, but its nothing that hes used to.He began to analyze her movments and thinks,"So she uses her ebliws too huh? This will be fun." He smiles as he kept his guard up knowing that this different from the normal bouts hes used to back home. "My arms could go numb that will be trouble and ill be defensive." He then started to close the gap between both of them and start his counter attack.

He started to move side to side keeping his body loose and his hands up to hid face. "I gotta keep moving," he thought still concerned about his body temperature. No matter what happens, he has to close the gap an keep focused on his opponent. He threw 2 jabs to the polar bear face and threw a body shot to her body with his right hand. He jumped hack and kept warming his hands.

Then he lept forwars again and kept throwing jabs and crosses keep pressure on his partner.
