Chicken breeds?

I apologize, as this is probably going to sound like a silly question. When it comes to animals, do we consider them to be a generic "Mizahar" breed (except when it is clearly stated, like with horses) or do we use real-life breeds as reference? For instance, if I wanted to purchase a small flock of chickens with a roo, and specifically wanted a Silkie in the mix... possible, or not so much?

You can probably have a silkie.. but like... Rhode Island Reds? Where the petch is Rhode Island? Lol.. so use your commons sense. Actually someone was working on a chicken breeds list somewhere. Talk to Traverse. I seem to remember it in my dim memory being displayed in her artistic style.

There is a chicken breed list in the peer review sub forum of the world development form, but I don't know if you can use it yet. Said list is here.
