Let me just say first of all, I do like your thinking, I have never thought of using such a combo in quite such a way. Spells going off inside of someone could be nasty. And yes, it could be done, however it does have a few issues inherent in it, which will make it difficult or less of a good idea.
Now to break it down, storing a spell long term in a sigil requires at least competent Glyphing. The initial part is simple enough, putting a focus on the blade, surrounding it in a barrier, and then creating a fireball via Reimancy and sending it into the focus, simple, easily done at competent.
A vocal trigger could be done at competent Glyphing, and that might be possible to be used, shouting out the trigger phrase at the right time. But bear in mind as Strings said, you would need to etch or engrave the glyphs and trigger and trigger phrase onto the blade. A knife is only so big, so that could be tricky.
Also bear in mind, how big of a fireball could you send into a focus small enough to fit on a knife blade? Probably not that big of one.
In that case, I think the knife you just shoved into their body would be the worse threat than any small fireball stored in the blade. Plus, fire tends to cauterize, which stops the bleeding and could actually lessen the immediate chance of death from a knife, which is from bleeding out.
So you might be better off with just shoving the blade into them one more time, than going through all this.
Also since the glyphs vanish after usage, it would probably ruin the blade after one usage. |
