I got bit!

Two gold for berries? Berries? Two gold for treatment sounded reasonable to Marone because it included so many things even as the doctor decided the bite was too trivial to be cleaned and treated but the berries? Marone wasn't entirely sure they worked at all because he still felt like shit after eating the lead and the leaf seemed like another important element to any treatment he might need from any poison.

"You mean the berries and the leaves don't you?" Marone reminded her. If he was going to pay two gold he currently didn't have on him he might as well get everything he could.

Paying two gold for the berries and leaves also seemed like a good idea to Marone especially if he could get samples to get them on his own next time. He didn't quite trust the doctor with the lack of any warnings about the leaf to actually make her his regular doctor while the warning of the berries seemed to help somewhat.

Or better yet he just ask the doctor right now to save his time. "I've never heard of leaves which taste like shit or berries that change the color of piss before. These shitleaves and pissberries or whatever you call them. Are you sure they work?"

Even if she didn't let the names slip two gold would be price enough to actually know what he is getting into and what he needs in case this snake incident ever repeated itself. But without a 100 gold bounty there would be no reason for Marone to do it again unless a dead snake actually drops into his lap.

On the subject of gold at least the doctor wanting to help him get a refund was promising. Even if she demands some share of it after Marone would at least be getting his money back. If the man refuses to give Marone his money back for the sale which nearly ended the maledictor's life or gods forbid the typical Sunberth answer to anything, Marone would have to use more devious means to get his satisfaction.

Maybe it would involve snakes or rats. Having something unrelated to haunt the man wouldn't be too good of a revenge plan.

"Alright. Come along then doctor. If we're lucky he should still be in the Bay" Marone said before leading the doctor on his hunt.

It came down to a question on whether he would be able to find the store or not because he already attempted to do so when looking for his antidote. Going to the spot he found it earlier in the day again it only took him a cursory glance to find that it wasn't there or anywhere close by. The other stores by it were still open however and although Marone didn't know if he saw them his first time round he figured it was better if he gave it a shot.

"I'll ask that store and you ask the other" Marone suggested while pointing to the stalls flanking the empty one in the middle. "Just ask about the guy selling the animals. Shouldn't be hard."

Marone added that bit at the end because he felt that his doctor's common was off while she was talking to him. It was a bit like he was talking to a kid only he wasn't. She kept her sentences brief. Only long enough to say what she needed to. While Marone knew a few tough guy characters which did the same they at least knew what words to use best. It was like one word was all they needed to get what they wanted through, or else. Hopefully what he asked of her this time wouldn't end up too hard for her.

Her common would be something to be considered some other time if Marone cared to. Going to the next stall over he started asking "you know what happened to the stall selling animals over there earlier today?"
Just got a new job. Will be trying to keep the stuff which I'm doing going at the very least so no one has to wait.

It had seemed the man had caught a hint of the joke she'd played on him with the leaf. But that was a simple remedy. She could simply blame it on her poor Common. "Yes, leaf and berries. I sorry, no good at speak Common."
It didn't matter if she gave him both, they were easy enough to find in the wild. Then he questioned her knowledge, her eyes narrowing sternly on him. "If no for me, poison kill you, you..." This was followed by an especially harsh swear in Tawna that roughly translated to a shyke shoveler that wasted water on cleaning his hands only to die of thirst in the desert, that was meant to express a very ungrateful person.

Still annoyed by his insult, she walked with him to get his stupid money back. The air around Kechaiya was one of severe annoyance and she refused to even look in the fool's direction. When he asked her to check another store she scoffed, refusing to even participate in this. She just wanted to see him get beat up or to get paid. This was a passing distraction that was really starting to sour. Standing there, arms now crossed, she saw a man watching Marone from around a corner. When he felt it was safe, the man began hauling crates of snakes, as evident through the bars, across the road, probably to move his wares elsewhere.

Kechaiya began walking toward the man, who was now eyeballing her curiously before Marone could see her, a plan to entertain her already forming in her mind. When she poked the vender on the shoulder, he startled a bit loudly like a little girl, and Kechaiya quickly realized he was not the type to just start fighting people. This disappointed her greatly. Yelling down the street, "I find him!"

The man gave her a look as if she were the most wicked woman in Mizahar. She just stood there idly by, waiting for the fool to come and confront the man. Deciding to help him a bit, Kechaiya's hand moved to the dagger that was in the waist of her skirt, patting it gently, hoping to intimidate the man a bit, smiling thinly.

I got bit!

As if confirming his suspicions the woman admitted to Marone that she wasn't good with speaking in common however as it was Marone just didn't care anymore. He already had what he needed from her which was the cure and if he wanted to prepare for a repeat of this unfortunate incident he was going to need some money to stock some for himself.

Which was what he was going to get. More money.

Although she was right in him being an ungrateful person. Marone however not being learned in Tawna ignored the insulting swear thinking it was just something the woman had to say in her native language because she was unable to express it in her poor common. Even her tone if it would have expressed any dissatisfaction or hostilities would be overlooked. Marone just didn't know and was not going to make any accusations just because of his ignorance.

Instead any aggressive questioning would've been directed to the owner of the next stall over. Now no longer having the shroud of Dira over him Marone had more than enough time to speak properly as opposed to his mad rush in finding a doctor earlier. If he didn't find the person which sold him the snake today it wouldn't be too big a loss. He might find him some other day when he visited the Bay again.

"What do you mean he just packed up and left?" Marone asked crossly after he went further into his questioning.

"He packed up and left. What else do you want to know?"

"A where would be nice. Or a who I can look for."

"I told you already. I don't know these guys. There are different people near my stall everyday" the stall owner said getting visibly annoyed with having to repeat himself over and over.

"Sure. But you people set up shop here everyday selling the same things. Are you trying to say you never saw him before?" he suggested. Marone came to the Bay a few times a season and has bought from the same sellers on occasion.

"Then go look for him some other day. Yeah. go look for him some other day because if you aren't buying nothing you might as well get lost" the seller said trying to close the subject.

"If you're going to be rude about it who the hell is going to buy.."

He couldn't even get through with his end statement because he heard the doctor shouting. That shout could've came from anyone but Marone knew it was the woman mainly because of the quality of common used. It sounded rugged and cut apart. Marone may be in Sunberth and his hometown is nothing compared to a decent place like maybe the close by Zeltiva but at least his ears never ached like this before.

Marone headed right to where he heard the doctor's voice come from. Across the road and when he neared close he saw the man and his disgusting snakes. Anger at the humiliation they brought him today added more strength to his steps as an outlet to disperse his feelings until he reached the both of them.

"You. You. You!" Marone said angrily completely missing the dagger being shown and how it used to intimidate the man which was a good thing. Marone might've actually ended up using it.

"Do you know what I went through today? You said those. Those things weren't poisonous!" Marone said stuttering through the words as saliva flew at the snakeseller like projectiles. "If it wasn't for this great doctor over here being prepared I would be dead. Dead from your venomous serpents you.."

Marone actually didn't know what sort of insult would be suitable in the current situation but keeping with the theme the words ran right through his mouth. "Serpent."

The exasperate continued his tirade not allowing the man the chance to speak. He'll say everything he wanted to say and then some other things which was not related to the product. The bottomline was he wanted his money back and he was going to ram that point right through the seller's head like a well made blade. If he refused then Marone would have to twist it to get what he wanted.

"Fine. Just give me the products back and I will give your money back. Less the cost of any damages." Not quite what Marone wanted to hear but it was an improvement from the protests the man tried to interject earlier.

But still less the cost of any damages wouldn't do because the snake was throughly damaged already.

"No. No returns. You sold me the wrong product. You're in the wrong. My money or else" Marone demanded while trying to change the terms offered to him because they made everything ineffective.

"But the snake wasn't poisonous like you asked. It was just a constrictor. They aren't poisonous. I swear on me mum."

"Bull! If it wasn't poisoned then why don't you tell me why she was treating me with all those disgusting medicine for so long?" Marone asked before pointing to the doctor.

And there she was again sporting her nice doctor mask which Marone would take as a matter of truth if only he didn't notice the dagger she was showing. His dagger by the way. While the weaponsmith should've taken it as an insult he was getting a little satisfaction when he got an idea of what she was trying to suggest by showing it like that. Something he would need to try if this continued.
