Whether striding afoot, elongated arms swaying, or scaling a cavern wall with all of her limbs moving in concert, Nirvesca does so with effortless grace. Her slender figure, as with all Symenestra, is brittle and it is not an uncommon occurrence for her to shield herself with an upraised arm to ward off even the most trivial impact. Her ashen skin so pale, the intricate pattern
of blood vessels can be discerned quite easily beneath.
Nirvesca's hair is a shimmering black that falls down to her shoulders, framing a narrow face whence expressive amethyst eyes twinkle deviously just below thick dark brows. As far from physically imposing as she is, one will quickly find what lurks beneath the innocent porcelain doll like face is not altogether harmless. Sharp black nails are used as a deadly weapon should anyone prove a threat and get close enough to do her injury. Should that not suffice, one venomous bite from her sharp canines could be fatal indeed.
Personality
Nirvesca has ever been an enigma. Even members of her Web found her profoundly perplexing at the best of times. At times she can be quite clingy and crave affection. At other times she is increasingly waspish and wanting nothing better than her own company. She is equally capable of acting innocent and disarming as she is devious and conniving.
One thing that isn't a mystery is Nirvesca's curiosity regarding the Symenestra Harvest. There had always been an odd hush of taboo surrounding the activity that kept her race afloat generation after generation and it truly fascinated her. To think she had a biological mother who was not Symenestran of origin was strange. She wondered what the other half of her mysterious heritage was like. How they lived out in the world beyond what books could tell and Gleanings could convey. Thus she sought to explore the world outside the dark recesses of Kalinor.
History
Nirvesca Hemlock is the youngest of three siblings. She was often jealous of her brothers, believing their roles more instrumental to the Web's prosperity than her own. Her brothers were the ones always on exciting escapades whilst she scrabbled around Kalinor. Not that she didn't make use of her time or that her own learning wasn't interesting. She deeply enjoyed learning the art of Shielding from her father. She had always been small and fragile, even among her kind. So it had been to nobody's great surprise - least her own - when daddy's little girl became pupil. Equally important knowledge concerning poisoning was distilled by her mother. It was also the perfect excuse to leave Kalinor; even if it was only to wander about the well guarded surface by her home. Nirvesca loved to climb the trees to find remote flowers or leaves that were required for poisons.
The desire to go on an adventure outside of Kalinor as her brothers did, never waned. If anything, her determination to do so, grew. The Symenestra invested time into training with a bow; something her siblings had learned at an early age and she had not, and only after a steady diet of 'pretty pleases' and a dose or two of guilt trips did her father grudgingly allow her to train.
When she finally reached an acceptably mature age, Nirvesca invoked her need to go on a pilgrimage of sorts. What her people called an intellectual harvest or Gleaning. She made sure to lace her words with enough honey in Viratas's name just to be sure they could not deny her! Though there was much bickering about her safety or lack thereof, eventually they gave into her designs.
Thus Nirvesca left the cocoon of silken webs to find adventure in the wilds. Armed with her bow, agility, knowledge of shielding and poison making, she set off on her trek. She had learned enough from geography scrolls to plot a course. She would travel south to the fabled city of Zinrah, home to the Dhani. The Dhani had always fascinated Nirvesca and so she chose that destination above all others. It was her plan to bring back an ambassador from Zinrah to share knowledge of their culture with her people. She also planned to learn more of poisoning from the shapeshifters who no doubt knew much of the lore. But most importantly, she would be on her very own mission. And that was exciting and reason enough for anyone.
