Skills

From Mizahar Lore

Jump to: navigation, search

The people of Mizahar encompass a wide variety of skills based on their training and life experiences. Skills are a measure of the characters ability to carry out an art, trade, technique, or action. There are no restrictions on the amount of skills a player can learn or to what level they can hone those skills. However, skills are divided into two categories: Initial Skills and Acquired Skills. Initial skills are given out as part of a character's starting package and include knowledge of a native and common language the education and/or experience gained from the character’s background.

Acquired skills are diverse and can be anything a player wishes their PC to learn. See the Skill List for a more comprehensive list of the more 'common' skills available on Mizahar. The Skill Guide will help players understand how their characters can acquire and progress their skills to the level of proficiency they deem satisfactory.

Magic is learned the same way as skills, by gaining experience(XP) points, while Gnosis follows a different system.

Skill Proficiency

From inept to proficient. The skill goes as such Novice -> Competent -> Expert -> Master

Remember to play your skills according to their level (No Powergaming), Please see the "Playing Skills At Their Levels" section in the Skill Guide. Godmodding/Powergaming is heavily frowned upon in Mizahar.

Skill Tables

Skill articles in Mizahar will usually feature a skill table featuring broad expectations of what a practitioner of a given skill level would be able to do. These listings are intended as guidelines for players and moderators rather than strict limits and regulations. The skill table will look like the following.

Things the practitioner will generally be able to do at this degree of proficiency.
