Timestamp: 58th of Summer, 511 A.V. The secluded hotel made for a quiet environment as Solia relaxed on the cool sheets. A chill swept over her body as the cold seeped into summer skin that seemed to always be uncomfortably warm. The inn that she was staying in was located closely to the Sea Side Market. The bustle of business was louder than yesterday though Solia wondered if the items being sold were of quality. She had been planning to work on a new golem as she possessed some funds to do so, but she wasn’t sure if the market would be a good place to go shopping for the necessary items. Sighing softly Solia lifted herself from the bed and put on the dress her mother had made her. She had some hope that it would still fit in a year, so long that she maintained her figure, but she knew it wouldn’t last beyond that. She was growing too quickly for her own liking. Solia took the small comb off the end of the bed and ran it through her hair, turning the small mats into smooth elegance as she pulled it up. Quickly tying it with a small leather strap she placed her black boots on her dainty feet and grabbed a pouch full of coins. She placed the gold in her left boot and headed out. The hallway of the inn was poorly decorated. Faded red paint and dimmed light fixtures lined the wall, while worn borders gave a rugged look into the past. Moans of hormonal men and women echoed from the left signaling someone was earning their keep, most likely a woman from Ruby’s. Turning her nose up in disgust Solia made her way out of the dingy inn and onto the dingy streets. It was a quick walk to the market from there. She received many odd looks from pedestrians as she maneuvered through the crowd. A few older women snarled at her as she passed, trading insults at her dimwittedness and fortune. Very few people were known to own such a nice dress in Sunberth and even fewer wore it in the general public. Perhaps Solia was stupid, to wear a nice dress in the city without law, she was just too naive to see it. She had lost most of her interest in people, too wrapped up with golems and other magical items to notice what others were talking about. A little boy ran into her, his face pressing into her stomach as he tried to regain balance. He looked to be about ten or so, bearing a grin that showed a chipped tooth and hair much blonder than her own. He looked closely at her eyes, without bothering to apologize for the run in. “Hey Lady, you’re a Kelvic aren’t you?” Solia was very surprised such a young boy could recognize her animalistic side so quickly. Before she could speak he added, “I know so cuz me mum’s one too.” Not knowing how she should respond to this Solia could only utter a soft, “oh.” The boy fallowed her around afterwards, every so often Solia would hear, “Hey Lady,” followed by a question about her. She only granted him vague answers. As they reached the end of a bell Solia wondered if there really was anything at the market she could use. |
