Visage The most prominent thing about Kalesse's features had to be her eyes. Like all the Chaktawe, they were entirely black. Since the entire race sported these shockingly beautiful eyes, they were only considered remarkable to an outsider. With wavy black hair to match her eyes and her skin coppered by the unyielding sun, Kalesse was simply average in all those respects. For a young girl on the verge of womanhood, that was not acceptable. Standing 5'9" and taller than most girls, Kalesse used that to her advantage. Her body was thin, yet curvaceous, with a long well toned torso and legs that went for miles. The bone structure of her face, her high cheekbones, luscious lips and big eyes all worked together and gave her what everyone had agreed upon as lucky genetics. She was beautiful, and she knew it. Keeping her hair long, she usually kept it in a free flowing, wavy mass down her back. Like most Chaktawe, she would braid feathers, bones and beads into her hair. Introduced to the foreign custom by a traveler, Kalesse would also take strings of beads and other pretty objects to wear as headbands, necklaces and bracelets for her wrists and ankles. She jingled with the sound of her jewelry wherever she went. Since Kalesse is from the Tatsuwaat tribe, she is often found with a thick red band painted around her eyes. Though it helped protect from the sun, as well as had other cultural values, Kalesse preferred to be without it and had to be bullied into painting it on. Though she was unmarried and entering into her twenties, Kalesse tried to dress as finely as she could. In the desert, it is hard to keep one's clothes dirt free, so Kalesse would wear as little as possible during the day, enjoying the look of her body and unafraid to show off what she had. Because of the pore on the ends of her fingers, Kalesse (like most Chaktawe) hated to have her hands covered. Preferring to have her hands free to sense the movement along the air, she tended to carry things in a purse or sling across her back.
Personality* Desert living is hard. It takes a special kind of person to love and thrive in such a demanding environment. While Kalesse did not choose to be born into such a life, like most Chaktawe children she was quick to accept the exotic life of a desert nomad. Growing up, Kalesse found herself becoming more and more possessive of her people and their culture. They were unique, and there was no denying that but they were also very vulnerable. Their culture relied on everyone working together, the only reason they survived being the tribes interwoven dependency on each other. Kalesse felt a certain spite for those that did not appreciate the extreme opportunity that life had handed the Chaktawe people on a silver platter. Family and friends were to be protected from anyone who threatened their way of life or their physical person. Kalesse regarded outsiders with extreme skepticism, for she learned from experience that not everyone felt as enthusiastically about their desert life as she. However, no matter how one spun it, the truth was Chaktawe life was hard. Kalesse learned early on that she needed to take what she wanted; no one was going to hand it to her, nor did success feel as sweet when one didn't work for it. Even as a young girl, Kalesse always knew what she want and how to get it, making her very aggressive and bold. Not everyone enjoyed this particular characteristic. Being bold enough to get what she wants, protective enough to lead friends and family down paths that she sees as the most beneficial for them, Kalesse slowly developed the qualities of a bully as she aged. She cannot abide by being beaten at anything or having anything taken from her, finding it near impossible to be able to let such things go. To make matters worse, her successes in life have given her an almost insufferable sense of self importance that most people find hard to deal with. Kalesse might be good at what she does, but she also lets everyone else know how good she is at it. This includes her looks and extends into her personal relationships. *Personality mostly under construction until it can be firmly fleshed out with actual play.

Kalesse worshiped Pash to an extent that was almost embarrassing, and yet even as they grew into adulthood he didn't seem to notice. It was knowledge, not women, that seduced him. Forthcoming |
