![]() As Darren restated her insult, his voice betrayed the hurt he felt; she didn't expect her words to effect him so. Then in retaliation, he threw the insult back at her, calling her the idiot for running her hands over the broken glass. Then continued on, practically saying that she was abusing his kindness. When he brought her attention to that, she did feel a little ashamed for taking her frustration out on an innocent bystander. But just as soon as he confronted her, he told her to stop searching for the vials and tried helping her to her feet. This time she would accept his offer and allow him to assist her without resistance. Once she was back up on her feet, her expression changed from one of aggravation, to more of a relaxed one. And to make conversation, perhaps to ease the tension that remained, Darren commented that the delivery's recipients wouldn't take too kindly to the blood that smeared over several of the vials. Also wandering why they would mater to somebody from the Whitevine hold. His choice of topic was the cause of the frustrated look she wore on her face as he continued. When he finished his words and suggested that they deliver the vials, it was finally her turn to speak. Holding the last one that had been placed in her hands, she held it tightly. "I'm only delivering the basked, not these vials." Pressing it against her chest, she continued speaking. "They are for me alone, nobody may have them... You see, they were specially made by my grandfather, for me to use. Surely you've noticed my eyes, they are clouded, their vision taken. But through this substance, I am granted sight once more." So far those were probably the most civilized words she had spoken to the newly introduced Darren of Whitevine. Before speaking again, she let a long sigh escape her lips. "I apologize for my rude words and actions, Darren. If we had met on any other day, or under different circumstances, our meeting might have been a pleasant one. I thank you for your help, but it would be worse if I continued to bother you. Which way is the port from here? If you point me in the right direction, I should be fine the rest of the way." Once she had a better idea of exactly where she was, she would be able to manage the rest of the way. She had done this many times before without incident, but the presence of another had quickly made things more complicated for her. OOCNo worries, it doesn't bother me. :p Sorry if the post isn't very good. x.x... |
