As Darren restated her insult, his voice betrayed the hurt he felt; she didn't expect her words to effect him so. Then in retaliation, he threw the insult back at her, calling her the idiot for running her hands over the broken glass. Then continued on, practically saying that she was abusing his kindness. When he brought her attention to that, she did feel a little ashamed for taking her frustration out on an innocent bystander. But just as soon as he confronted her, he told her to stop searching for the vials and tried helping her to her feet. This time she would accept his offer and allow him to assist her without resistance.

Once she was back up on her feet, her expression changed from one of aggravation, to more of a relaxed one. And to make conversation, perhaps to ease the tension that remained, Darren commented that the delivery's recipients wouldn't take too kindly to the blood that smeared over several of the vials. Also wandering why they would mater to somebody from the Whitevine hold. His choice of topic was the cause of the frustrated look she wore on her face as he continued. When he finished his words and suggested that they deliver the vials, it was finally her turn to speak. Holding the last one that had been placed in her hands, she held it tightly.
"I'm only delivering the basked, not these vials." Pressing it against her chest, she continued speaking. "They are for me alone, nobody may have them... You see, they were specially made by my grandfather, for me to use. Surely you've noticed my eyes, they are clouded, their vision taken. But through this substance, I am granted sight once more." So far those were probably the most civilized words she had spoken to the newly introduced Darren of Whitevine. Before speaking again, she let a long sigh escape her lips. "I apologize for my rude words and actions, Darren. If we had met on any other day, or under different circumstances, our meeting might have been a pleasant one. I thank you for your help, but it would be worse if I continued to bother you. Which way is the port from here? If you point me in the right direction, I should be fine the rest of the way." Once she had a better idea of exactly where she was, she would be able to manage the rest of the way. She had done this many times before without incident, but the presence of another had quickly made things more complicated for her.

OOCNo worries, it doesn't bother me. :p Sorry if the post isn't very good. x.x...

Two snowflakes meet. (Darren, flashback)

Darren let out an appreciative sigh as Constance held the vial, at least now from here on out she'll be a bit more accepting. He even held her hand a bit longer then deemed polite. "Ah alright. The basket." Glancing slightly at the container he handled haphazardly the younger Vantha laughed nervously at the sudden news. Nodding at Constance's explanation at first, his first thoughts were that of lewd and possibly erotic uses for the vials but as she continued he couldn't help but eye her suspiciously. "Your not very good at jokes. You especially shouldn't be making one about your condition."

Continuing on Constance's tone didn't seem to change, confusing and possibly confounding the blue eye'd vantha. "Erm don't worry about it. I bet it would have?" Hearing the upcoming dismissal, Darren looked shocked at the request. "What? You can't be serious... You made me help you all the way over here just so that I can just point-hah! You won't even see where I'm pointing! No, no , no. I'm not leaving you anywhere. Your taking me to this person and I'm walking you back home and that's that." Darren blinked slightly at his outburst, where did that come from? "Erm- I mean. I wanted to know a little more about you is all. *Ahem* I mean... don't I get a reward from my feisty new friend? A kiss even?" Though he ended on a somewhat sarcastic note, Darren spoke freely to Constance, something that was out of place for the normally mocking Vantha. Recovering quickly, Darren swallowed slightly as he thought of ways to show he didn't care. I don't care at all. Not one bit. If she offers I'll make her kiss a fish instead. Yeah! That's what I'll do!

As Darren spoke and told her to stop making jokes about her condition, her eyes turned to a hint of green-yellow. Even through the gray mask that clouded her eyes, it was still noticeable, and the color itself showed her growing irritation. Then when he spoke of wanting to escort her to her destination and back home, the color changed to a subtle pink, showing uncertainty through its color. Her eyes were quickly followed by her cheeks as they flushed from the embarrassment of the moment he mentioned a kiss. Another affect of his outgoing behavior and bold words, was having her own words catch in her throat. Clearing them, she would speak, but avoid his request for a reward.
"You don't believe me, do you?" She asked, referring back to her explanation of what the vials purpose was. "Do you doubt that herbs could be used to return sight to the blind? If you require proof, then I can give you just that." The entire goal of her walking about Avanthal, blind, was to make sure she stayed accustomed to surviving without her site. It was a required drill that made certain that if she was unable to obtain any of the salve her grandfather created, that she would be able to continue on living without much difficulty. But if this fellow Whitevine was so close-minded, she would prove to him that sight through herbalism and medicine was indeed possible, and practice another day. Holding out the vial she held in her hand, she fastened her fingers over the top, ready to open it if needed. Unless he believed her, she would continue on without his assistance. After regaining her vision, what use would he be to her?

OOCIf there isn't much for you to work with form this post, then feel free to write about them leaving the marketplace and heading towards the port. Feel free to add anything that would give you more to work with. lol

"Not at all" Shrugging slightly Darren then rolled his eyes at the preposterous idea. If only everything had a remedy, must be nice to be so naive. "Sounds more like something that of Yukman origins. Mere stories of fancy and hallucinations at best. I should know... I am a Whitevine. As should you..." Scoffing loudly at her actions Darren moved his hand to his forehead out of irritation before he looked around for something to use for the situation she placed them in. This is starting to get embarassing... Fine. She can see whatever. Lemme find something to test her little vial. A fish maybe? Smack some sense into her?

Sadly there wasn't a fish stall within arms reach as he looked back at Carina's visage. "Alright honey, make my day." Looking back at his belt he freed up one of his gauntlets before he continued on. "Makes it easier to flirt with you. You know... seeing me and my good looks you might faint from the first thing you see." A small foreshadowing for things to come, as he dangled his gauntlet for a moment. After watching her down her little brouhaha of a salve she stepped forward with callous intent, hesitating for a moment before flinging the leather side of his gauntlets at her cheek. "Think fast..."

OOCThere is a fish for you. XD

When she heard him tell her to make his day, she couldn't help but smile at the thought of proving the effectiveness of her grandfathers concoction. She wandered how he would react when her vision returned, contrary to what he believed. Would he be amazed or astonished? Or would he play it off as if nothing even happened? The possibilities had her intrigued; his reaction would give her some insight to kind of person he was. So with anticipation to see his reaction, she pulled loose the cork and poured some of the vials contents out onto her hand. Once the cork was back in place, she put it in her pocket and proceeded to spread the salve over her finger tips. Then lifting her hands to her face, she smeared the salve over her closed eyes, leaving a sheen of moisture over the surrounding area. After only seconds her skin was tingling as the salve took effect and repaired the damaged eye muscles and nerves. When the sensation began to fade, Darren spoke up and told her to 'think fast'.

Opening her eyes just in the nick of time, she hardly had a chance to lift her hand to deflect the gauntlet, flinching and closing her eyes as it quickly closed the distance between it and her face. After feeling it hit against her hand, she was quick to grab onto it. Opening her eyes, she looked directly into his. If he were staring back, then he would have seen the gray that had been clouding her eyes, slowly moving to the back of her eye as if it were only being temporarily held at bay. And with its fade, the colors of her eyes intensified as they shown, with clarity, several colors; proof of her mixed emotions. Smirking at him, she yanked the gauntlet from his hand and dangled it in front of him for a moment before she started walking away towards the port. Swinging it around in a circle, she would call out to him, asking one question.
"Darren, are you coming, or what?"

Darren blinked in disbelief as the Whitevine blocked the light smack with his gauntlets. How did she do that? Having it snatched away from him a look of indignation crept unto his lips as he looked first at the hand that took his gauntlets away then back at the older Vantha's face. A dazzling myriad of hues and a confident smile caused the normally cocky vantha to rear back in denial. Holy Morwen, does that stuff actually work?Forgetting to breathe for a small moment Darren watched closely Constance navigate the busy market. A sharp intake of breathe followed by a labored cough, Darren stagger back at Constance's heels as he tried to regain his breathe.

"In more ways then one..." *Cough* "Erm... how did you do that?" Staring straight at the other Whitevine's eyes there was no doubt that color replaced the once lucid gaze. "I don't know what to say..." Swallowing slightly Darren took his place alongside her as they finally made their way to their goal. Giving the basket away he looked back at Constance with a hint of skepticism, his arms folded over his chest as he tried to understand what was going on. "Hey... I need to talk to you. Can you explain exactly what that stuff is? And how did you get it?" Looking around for a moment, the vantha determined that the market wasn't perhaps the best spot for such a conversation. "Not here, follow me. This isn't the best place to try to understand complicated things. It's like you know magic or something..."

oocGo ahead and pick where you want the pair to go, if you want to continue. Talk about anything, herbalism, yourself, the vial, w/e.
