Home of the Konti people, this ivory city is built of native konti stone half in and half out of the sea. Its borders touch the Silverwood, and stretch upwards towards Silver Lake, home of the infamous konti vision water. [Lore]

To Speak, To Dream, To Commune (Kail Language Training)

Taithrosa nodded. "Directions I think would be an excellent starting place. It doesn't help if I can't understand directions but could have a religious debate. He looked over the list she had prepared. He repeated the words and nodded his head as she helped him pronounce them correctly.

He paused after they had gone through the list. "How about you ask me directions to place around the island and I will practice using these words to answer how to get there." He said. He liked that idea. It would be pratical and would be something realistic. He like the quickness of the language as it moved along so much better then the other languages he knew. He also enjoyed spending time with Kail, and right now laid his hand over hers as they looked over the list. He quickly looked over the list trying to learn first the cardinal directions, and then right and left.
Do you think that you could ever, Through all eternity,
Find out the generation Where Gods began to be?
Or see the grand beginning, Where space did not extend?
Or view the last creation, Where Gods and matter end?
Me thinks the Spirit whispers, “No man has found ‘pure space,’
Nor seen the outside curtains, Where nothing has a place.”

To Speak, To Dream, To Commune (Kail Language Training)

Postby Kail D'Rea on August 22nd, 2011, 6:15 pm

Real-life conversations and useful practice seemed practical to Kail. She started right in, asking Taith for directions to the beach in Kontinese, then in Common so there was no confusion. She knew starting out with just the nouns was going to be tricky, and sound odd, but it was a start. She would let Taith answer as he could, then make the subtle adjustments to the words that would make them into sentences and full directions. He could hear it for now and learn it as they went along. She waited to Taith to respond to the inquiry, preparing herself not to laugh at what was sure to be a rather primitive conversation.

Tiathrosa's directions were rather primative as he contiuned to try and learn the language, but he answered her questions with directions as she instructed him. He was careful about proncouncing them as the contiuned. His mind grasped the words glade to have something to focus on instead of thinking about what had been. Learning always seemed to help him.

He eventually looked up and noticed that the time had passed for there lessons. He turned to Kail and smiled at her his white teeth flashing against his dark skin. "It appears that I have spent another wonderful afternoon in your company and completely lost track of time." He said his archaic accent. "Shall I walk you home and we can meet tomorrow." He said with hand on her hand. He stood up and offered her his hand.

To Speak, To Dream, To Commune (Kail Language Training)

Kail gladly took Taith's hand and started the walk to her little home. As they walked, she told Taith the directions they were going and insluded the correct sentences to go with them until they got to her street. As they walked down the quiet lane on the outskirts of town, she gently ran one finger along the back of Taith's hand and commented "you are a quick student. I don't doubt you will have the language soon. I want to meet tomorrow for a formal lesson in the Akalak tounge, but perhaps we should have some more hands on training in Kontinese for you. What if we go out in the town and just talk about what we see and do. My day off is in two days, so if you want to go earlier we can, or later is still fine too."

They had reached the door and Kail paused on the step, leaving Taith on ground level. She was glad to be closer to Taith's height, where she had a better view of his face than just his chin. "If you want, we can get a meal in town? We can go over food words and proper mealtime customs. If you want." Hoping that wasn't to pushy, Kail was excited about the idea of going out with Taith, even if it was language-learning based. She was just so drawn to him, she wanted to spend more time and get to know him better.

Taithrosa paused as she asked him to join her for lunch. He tilted his head and gave her that charming smile, with white teeth that flashed against his saphire blue skin.

"I would love to got out and eat with you then. Lets meet on you day off and we can see more of the town and practice more of the Konti language." He smiled. "Tomorrow though we will be start with some conversational in tukant." He gave her a quick kiss before bowing and leaving her at the door. He needed to prepare for his part of the lesson tomorrows.

Taith
SKILLS
Seduction 3
Teaching 3
Rhetoric 2

LORE
Enamored by a Konti

EXTRAS
Language Kontienese (basic)

Misc Notes:
Loved how you played your character. Even though your posts are generally not long winded they are point specific. No fluff what is there is needed and you hit the points well. Love how you played out learning a language then teaching one as well.

Kail
SKILLS
Seduction 3
Teaching 5
Rhetoric 1

LORE
Enamored by a Ethaefal

EXTRAS
Language Tukant (basic)

Misc Notes:
I found you and Taith's romance classical and yet still fun to read. I also loved how you RP'd teaching him the Kontienese language. Well played. I also found your characters internal dialogue very interesting.

Wrap up
In all I only wish I could find more things to give you two credit for. For instance Kail if you had put a little more description in your character running to meet Taith I would've given you a point in running. Not a big deal but you did indeed role play the areas of interest and intent well. I really enjoyed seeing your characters relationship. It is a very fun one and I can't wait to see more of your characters.

The waves and wind
That is the pulse
