[Marketplace] Tools for the Journey Ahead...(Keva, Khamina)

Summer , 13th 511 AV

The market place buzzed with the chatter of people who slowly made their way through the snow covered streets of Avanthal. Each shop was just hanging their ‘open for business’ signs in the windows, and plumes of grey, whispy, smoke rose from the chimney stacks; as new products and merchandise were being crafted. The sky itself looked generous today; a clear and gentle blue had claimed the firmament, and there was nary a cloud in sight.

Mortemor had managed to rise somewhat early today, but her grogginess had become a perpetual annoyance that never seemed to go away. She hated winter, and the cold; it made her feel tired constantly. But she was determined to brave the cold and go out in search for tools that she would need while journeying; and not even the strong urge to just sleep in, and hibernate under a pile of quilts was going to stop her.

“Aaah!” Morte yawned, placing her palm over her mouth as tears formed at the edge of her green and gold flecked eyes. She shook her head slightly, still battling the desire to snooze. “I wonder where Keva and Khamina have gotten off too…” Mortemor lazily murmured to herself. The young red-head yanked down her cloak’s hood, hoping that the chill lingering in the air would further aid her in shedding the sensation of tiredness; that plagued every limb in her body. The Halfling would soon come to the market center, where items of all kind were being sold.

Mortemor strolled through the main street, passing small groups of shoppers who held bags and parcels filled with things they had just purchased. It reminded her a little of the bustling docks of Zeltiva; where sailors and merchants of all kinds would make their way up and down the docks, carrying heavy boxes of cargo to be divided up amongst the shops. Morte wasn’t happy to admit it, but she was already feeling a bit homesick. The flamed haired woman decided to distract her brain from such thoughts, and began window shopping. The first few shops she passed sold things like souvenirs for travelers and fur clothing.

But one shop did catch the young wander’s eyes, and suddenly she found herself with her nose pressed to the glass. Bows and arrows of all sizes and shapes lined the walls of the interior of the shop. Many of them looked to be finely crafted with expert attention to detail. Mortemor suddenly blushed as though she had just set her gaze onto a cute boy. “Oh my!” She swooned eyeing a particularly decorative bow that was set on the shelf above the others.

Quick SummaryMortemor is window shopping in market district. She stopped to take a look at an archery shop.

OOCSorry it took me longer than I thought XP there was a storm here last night, and my RA doesn’t go good with rain -.-;

[Marketplace] Tools for the Journey Ahead...(Keva, Khamina)

Postby Keva on August 3rd, 2011, 6:49 am

Keva woke up early that morning, he rubbed his eyes and stared at the wood ceiling above him. He was thinking of the day of ahead of him and he really wanted to go see Mortemor as soon as possible. He quickly got up from his lumpy, uncomfortable bed and reached for his bag. He took out a comb and quickly brushed his hair, then but on his black fur boots and coat. He quickly headed out the door without anyone noticing him and headed for the marketplace.

Once Keva reached the marketplace he had trouble maneuvering through the crowded, icy streets. He looked around at the myriad of faces within the crowd around him, but couldn’t find Mortemor.

Where is she? Why does there have to be so many people here. Keva thought to himself as he continued to look around for Mortemor. Keva had then remembered he had read Mortemor when they first met, he thought maybe he could recognize her aura. One by one he began reading each person’s aura in the marketplace, not aware of his limits. Little by little Keva’s vision began to be blurred by the smoky aura that radiated from each person around him. He was able to recognize the name of the people’s auras he had read, but no sign of Mortemor. As Keva continued to read the several aura’s without letting anny of the others go, his mind was being attacked with much information of people, though he couldn’t focus on anything. Keva stumbled as he tried to walk forward, heading towards a store that sold bows and arrows. Keva held his forehead with one hand, his mind was throbbing and couldn’t even focus enough to let on certain auras go. They were all being mashed together within his mind. His vision was beginning to become blurry as well, all he could see was the foggy aura of people around him. Within the foggy mist that he saw, he could make something red that looked like hair. He knew it was Mortemor and wanted to run to her, but felt like he couldn’t move. Keva became scared, confused and upset, his eyes began shifting colors until they became a myriad of mixed colors. He regretted that he did this, that he put himself in risk by over using his Auristics. He wanted to scream to Mortemor, but felt extremely dizzy and weak. He feel to his knees, hardly feeling in control of his own mind. He only hoped that the focus he had on all this auras would fade on their own.

OOCWow so sorry, this response was so late. I really need to learn to just focus on one thing at time, I start something then start focusing on doing other stuff too >.< Haha just reminded myself of Keva xP But anyway so sorry I’m going to keep myself focused on this : )

[Marketplace] Tools for the Journey Ahead...(Keva, Khamina)

Mortemor was thoroughly enthralled by the selection of weaponry the Fletcher had to offer. She was about to step inside to have a chat with the store keeper, but a ruckus taking place a short distance behind her, called her attention. Among a crowd, who had stopped to gawk, knelt a young man who seemed to be troubled by something. He was wincing and holding his head; his knees seemed too weak to hold himself up. It looked as though he was having a mix between a dizzy spell, and a mega migraine.

“Keva?” Mortemor suddenly recognized the pale skin, and black sleek hair. “Hey!”

Morte shoved past a crowd of gatherers, and swept Keva up in one of her arms, her other hand went to rub the boy’s scalp. “Are you okay? Did you hit your head? Keva?!”

Moretmor was beginning to really worry once she noted that there were no visible wounds upon the young man. “Did you eat something bad?” She asked, thinking that the problem could have been with something he ingested. “Come on, sit down…” The young red head gingerly led the vanthan to the side of the street and set him down in a soft pile of snow.

OOCNo worries hun! Take your time, I'm in no rush and it usually takes me a day or two to get a post thought up and then written. Life is just too hectic to focus on one thing at a time y'know XPPP lol sorry this was so short, I wasn't sure what else to add.

Keva stared at the ground, though his vision was so blurry he could hardly even tell what he was looking at. He felt as if he could pass out at any moment. Suddenly he felt someone grab him in one of his arms and rub his head. He could hear the person attempting to talk to him, but he couldn’t even bring himself to focus on the words. He managed to tilt his head over to the person’s face that he could hardly see from the fog that covered his vision. Though he could still see the vibrant red hair of the woman that seemed to glow in the fog, he was relieved it was Mortemor.

Keva could hardly move, which forced all of his weight onto Mortemor until they found a poorly built bench to sit on. Keva continued to look at Mortemor’s face. His eyes were barely open, though the many colors that were mixed together in his iris were still clearly visible to Mortemor. Suddenly Keva closed his eyes and relaxed, his breathing becoming slower.

The concentration he had on the several auras began to fade as he relaxed, though he still felt to weak to move he was beginning to feel better. He managed to open his eyes once more and noticed his vision was becoming clearer. His mind no longer throbbing from the intolerable amount of information that had entered it. He still felt extremely tired and closed his eyes once again to rest, but also giving a faint smile. He felt safe being beside Mortemor.

[Marketplace] Tools for the Journey Ahead...(Keva, Khamina)

Postby Khamina on August 14th, 2011, 9:51 pm

Thick leather boots crunched in the morning snow as the barbarian-like woman made her way through the hustle and bustle of the market place. Earlier in the day she had visited the Frostfawn household where she knew she could find hunting equipment discounted and limited to the Frostfawn house only. After gathering up everything Khamina believed she needed she decided to take up Mortemor’s offer and went looking for her in the market.

...It wasn’t hard to find her, in fact she barely had to search, flaming red locks stood out among the crowd of dark haired individuals. Mortemor, it seemed, had been perched on a bench by the side of the road next to a young man who did not look at his best.

Within several great strides the huntress would be upon them, surely an imposing figure for that of a child and young lady. “...Morning.” She paused, trying to assume the situation. “Who is this? ...he not look so good...” Khamina asked curiously, her eyes fixated on the boy who was as white as a ghost. Now that she had a better look the huntress could tell from his flickering eyes that he was a Vantha, yet the paleness of his skin said differently.

The weak young Vanthan stared up at her helplessly; a whirlpool of different hues swirling in his frightened eyes."Keva?" Morte called his name once more wondering if the word had fallen upon deaf ears. "Are you alright?" She asked once more as the pale young man winced; squeezing his eyes shut tightly for a moment.

Suddenly, a large shadow loomed over the pair, and Mortemor's attention turned to the figure who was hovering above them. Her beryl eyes came to meet with the wild eyes of the huntress, Khamina. Who, at first, seemed happy to greet her; but then she became concerned for the collapsed young stranger currently in Morte's arms.

“Who is this? ...he not look so good...” The barbarian woman asked in broken common.

"This is Keva," Mortemor frowned a bit and looked back over at the sick male. He smiled at her faintly and she was relieved to see that some of the pain had left his face. "... I think he's sick... How are you feeling now?" Mortemor said, the first half of her statement was directed at Khamina, and the second half was meant for Keva. She brushed a few strands of loose black hair from Keva's cheek as she examined him a bit closer. The storm of tints in his eyes seemed to die away, as well. "This is my potential traveling partner, Keva." Mortemor motioned to Keva as she addressed Khamina.

The red head turned to Keva and spoke in a lighter tone, slowly pronouncing the words in case he had been disoriented during his ordeal."... and this is the huntress I hired to help us along the way, her name is miss Khamina... are you settled?"

[Marketplace] Tools for the Journey Ahead...(Keva, Khamina)

Postby Keva on August 20th, 2011, 6:58 am

Keva could hear Mortemor along with another woman talking, though there voices sounded faint as if they were talking from afar in an empty, cold hallway. Keva let out a weak sigh and heard their voices much clearer. Keva slowly opened his eyes once again to see the woman who Mortemor was speaking to, immediately becoming intimidated by her wild appearance. The woman did not make him quiver in fear though, since it seemed she had known Mortemor. He desperately wanted to view the woman’s aura to get to know what kind of person she may be, but he currently to weak to even move.

”How are you feeling now?” Keva had heard Mortemor say directed towards him. Keva looked up to Mortemor’s face, his eyes now were fading from their hysteria and melted into a cool hazel mixed with a tint of black.

“Better…” Keva let the single word faintly escape from his lips, though still managed to give the same heart warming smile. A smile that melted through any ice that shivered undesired emotions. As Mortemor introduced him to Khamina, he once again looked over at that the fierce woman and studied her, studied her eyes. He saw a hint of concern in them, maybe she wasn’t as fearsome as she made herself appear to be. Only time could tell, but for Keva he didn’t need to wait for time to know a person.

Keva gave a slow nod and faint smile at Khamina to show his acquaintance to her since he felt too weak to talk too much. Keva then let out another weak sigh and began to feel more in control of his body and attempted to sit up on his own. Which he was eventually able to do, but slowly.

"This is my potential traveling partner, Keva."

Khamina frowned as she peered down at the boy, was this the partner her employer had been talking about? He was small, his body obviously not quite yet matured and no traits were visible to the naked eye that pointed out he specialised in anything, on top of all that he was suffering from an illness! How could anyone expect this child to survive even more than a day out in the frozen wilderness? It mattered not, even if the boy did die it wouldn’t change her wages, or so she thought.

“Do as you please, I warn you, he slow us down...” she replied in a harsh, serious tone whilst dropping a heavy bag on to the ground with a loud crunch. Whatever the young man had been suffering from it seemed to gradually fade as he sat up slowly, observing the huntress with slight worry in his eyes. “I done preparing, if need help finding, I can help.” Khamina said as she picked up the heavy looking leather bag and threw it over one shoulder.

“Slows us down or not, he’s here to learn. Just like me. So please treat him like another pupil.” Mortemor frowned at the wild woman’s blatant inconsideration for Keva’s health. The towering woman slung her pack over her shoulder, stating that her supplies were already packed and ready, but she was here to help anyone who needed to find just the right supplies. Mortemor could sense the practical nature of Khamina, she could slightly understand how the huntress saw the world, and therefore wasn’t so upset when Khamina regarded Keva as a weakling. She and Keva would just have to prove the barbarian woman wrong! And have fun in the process!

The red head’s attention went back to Keva, and she helped him to his feet. “What was that all about Keva? You sure you’re okay now?” She asked in a concerned voice, holding the boy steady by his elbow. “Do you think you can walk?” Mortemor felt a bit ashamed she hadn’t taken Keva’s health into consideration before asking the young man to embark with her. She was so caught up in the moment she couldn’t help but ask the young man to share her journey, just as they had shared the dream of seeing the world and finding a place they belonged.

[Marketplace] Tools for the Journey Ahead...(Keva, Khamina)

Postby Keva on August 23rd, 2011, 4:23 am

Once Keva was able to sit up he heard Khamina’s remark about him. Keva quickly glanced up at her and gave her the same sharp, cold glare that that he had given so many other Vantha. Keva instantly hated her, he didn’t understand why so many people saw him as worthless and weak compared to other Vantha boys. He knew he was different, but didn’t understand why Vanthas could not accept it. Keva’s cold glare subsided when Mortemor spoke, he looked up to her with shock and happiness. No one ever stood up for him like that and it was a nice change.

Keva was feeling much better now though and practically felt back to his normal self, besides feeling a little weary. He stood up with Mortemor’s help, then was able to stand up on his own. He looked up at Mortemor as she spoke and nodded.

“Yeah, I’m feeling better now. It’s because…” Keva gave a sudden pause, he realized he had never actually told anyone he could use Auristics. Even if anyone suspected he could use it, no one knew it as a fact. It was like his own little secret or his own secret weapon. Keva sighed, even though he had just met Mortemor she was like her greatest friend. He felt comfortable sharing any secret with her.

“I… I can actually use Auristics. When I overuse it that’s what happens, but it has never been fatal. Atleast not yet.” Keva leaned in as he spoke softly, he didn’t want many people to hear. They already though he was different enough anyway.
