Timestamp: 1st of Fall, 511 AV (Evening) Continuation from The Woven Gate Rhysati almost laughed out loud at how the pale man jumped down from his place of safety without hesitation to take a good look at her. Trusting fool! Did he think she was harmless just because she was naked and unarmed? Oh, how easy this would be! She took a half-step towards him, the motion hardly betraying her true intentions, but at that moment, she was thinking of the easy meal she would soon be enjoying. A closer inspection of the man made the Dhani realize her error, however. The unique and well-cared for armor that he wore told her that this was no mere hermit standing before her, but likely part of a larger group. His confidence in approaching her meant that he had companions observing the interaction between them, perhaps just out of the range of the light of the bonfire so that her eyes would not pick up their silhouettes. That's the scenario she would have set up for herself had the situation been reverse, after all. Deciding to play the clueless wanderer once more (which was not far off from the truth if she were to be honest - which she never was), Rhysati relaxed back on the heels of her feet, her eyes taking in every inch of her greeter. He was significantly less muscular than the human forms of her fellow Dhani, not even coming close to the frames of the Myrian savages she had run into. In fact, there was something about him that made him seem almost...fragile. Rhysati almost felt she could break him with one hand. This, then, was no human. But what was he exactly? She had never run into one of his kind before. Oh, but he's still a man! she thought to herself in amusement as she noted at how he stared at her naked form. In particular, his eyes lingered longest on her breasts, the nipples pert now due of the cool night air. Rhysati did not bother to cover them despite his blatant staring, even putting her hands on her hips to give him a better view of them. "My eyes are up here, Grey Skin," she chided him when she thought he had stared enough. A playful, lopsided smile was splayed on her lips, though if the man was the observant type, he would note that the expression did not light up Rhysati's eyes. They remain cool - cold, even - as he spoke to her. He called the place 'Kalinor' as if the name should have some meaning to her. And he mentioned an inn... Rhysati's mind whirled at the possibilities. Was this some sort of subterranian town, then? One that escaped the Valterrian? How delightful! It would be just like a buffet for the likes of her! And he even invited her to stay at his house rather than find lodging on her own. His house! She almost wanted to pinch herself to check if she was dreaming. It was all too easy! Oh, what a trusting fool you are, Grey Skin! She took the cloak but did not immediately put it on, a sudden idea blossoming in her mind, one that would let her enjoy herself more in this 'Kalinor' place rather than just gorging herself with its too-trusting inhabitants. Pretending not to understand, Rhysati merely stared at the dark fabric in her hand. "I accept, but...What's wrong with not having clothes? Your mother is female too, isn't she? Shouldn't it be okay for her to see another woman naked?" Clueless, that what she had to be. And she allowed just that much wonderment in her tone to make it sound like she truly did not understand. Nevertheless, she still complied in putting on the cloak to appease him, lowering the dark material over her own pale form. She continued asking him questions, however, such as what exactly he was, his name and what 'Kalinor' was. She imbued her voice with the same curious tone she had used before, but the whole time she kept her attention focused on the man before her, taking careful note of his reaction to her, and his answers. It seemed she had stumbled into a very interesting place. Rhysati was glad for her choice not to strike out at the man earlier, finding that she was enjoying herself more right now with all the play-acting and lies. She would not have this kind of entertainment if the man was slowly being digested in her stomach. This was much more fun. The game was on. OOCEdit: Added that Rhysati accepted the invitation. |
