End of the 23rd Day of Fall, 511 A.V.

As the sun begins to set in the near by forest Kendric makes his way towards the gates. His face hidden beneath the hood of his jacket. Using his staff to keep his balance his removes his bag and takes a book out from within it. He begins writing within the book before pausing. Removing his hood he reveals his face. Though still young their is obvious aging upon his face as well as the gray streaks within his hair. He sniffs the air before smiling. He finishes his writing and places the book back in his bag. placing the bag on the ground and removing his jacket he turns around.

"I know you boys are hungry, but this isn't the meal you want or are expecting," He states.

Several stray canines appear from the near by brush, baring their teeth and snarling at Kendric. Dropping down to all fours Kendric growls back at the canines, grinning when he's done. The canines look on in confusion before turning around running off. Rising back to his feet Kendric puts his jacket back on continues towards the gates.

As he approaches the gates Kendric scans above at the Archers overseeing the entrance. His eyes then fall upon the two Knights guarding the gate. He hands one of the Knights his bag as he looks over at the other. As the Knight looks through Kendric's bag he pauses and opens his book. A confused look comes across his face as he looks over at Kendric and then back at the book.

"What kind of language is this," the Knight questions.

"Kontinese," Kendric replies, "had a Konti as a teacher growing up. It's easier for me to write in."

"A Konti huh," The Knight smuggly replies, putting the book back in the bag and handing back to Kendric.

"I'd like to be a teacher to a Konti," the other Knight chuckles.

As the two Knights laugh Kendric continues in, pulling his hood back over his face. He pauses a little way in and glares back at the two Knights, letting out a low growl before turning and disappearing in the crowd clenching his fists.
"I do not believe in vengence...but I do believe in Karma, and there's someone in the world who has a lot of bad karma coming their way"

[Syliras Location] The Main Gates

Postby Mikkeyla on October 22nd, 2011, 1:27 pm

5th of Fall, 511 AV
Early morning

The dew had yet to dry in the grass when the gates of Syliras came into view. The sun rose over the land and spread her light over sky and earth, lighting little fires where the rays touched upon droplets of water in spiders webs and on strands of grass. The air was cool and fresh, and as a steady wind drew in from the wet it carried along a scent of salt and kelp that mingled well with the earthy musk of soil and forest and fresh herbs. Mikkeyla adjusted the heavy basket upon her arm and continued on ahead, joining the few dozen other travelers on the road as they slowly milled towards the gates.

It was early, but she had been up well before sunrise and had a long walk behind her from her home in the Mithryn Outpost. When normally she would have been out on the fields or in the garden that surrounded her cottage by now, this day she had errands to run and gifts to deliver. It was a welcome break from the hard toil by the side of the other farmers, and as she turned her gray eyes towards the heavy gates the young woman couldn't help but smile in anticipation.

She felt the eyes of the guarding Knights scrutinize her as she limped past them, but barely acknowledged them aside from a brief nod as their gazes accidentally met. The blonde girl was used to have members of the order around as they kept a firm watch over the fields where she worked and the village where she lived, and while she didn't always appreciate their vigilance she was by no means fearful of them. And they should have no reason to hinder her in her path. Dressed in a heavy brown skirt that fell from hips to ankles along with a plain white blouse tucked in beneath, she looked every bit the farmer that she was. Perhaps the heavy limp that she walked with might raise some questions, but Mikkeyla didn't stop to give the Knights an opportunity as she walked past them and moved in through the heavy stone arch that marked the entry into Syliras.

[Syliras Location] The Main Gates

Afternoon

Cresting a hill, a simple-looking Isur looked down on the city of Syliras. All that life, in one place. They probably needed smiths like nobody else. Thoughts of all the money he could make here ran through his head, lightly dismissed and replaced with the anticipation of learning. Surely some great smith must be here, of all places, the very center of the elder race, the seat of Humanity.

Mazirion walked calmly to the gates, his long hair swinging slightly and his cloak tied around his waist. His boredom and weariness with the long walk were visible on his young-looking face. At his side swung a hammer of a bright and shimmering metal, at the ready to be thrown even as he entered the most peaceful place since the Valterrian struck. He glanced briefly at the guards, who nodded him through. He doubted they were afraid of him, but should he ever need to he could change that.

"Hey, what's your business here?" The younger guard on the right called out to him.
"This place has lots of money and lots of broken swords, am I correct? I can fix both problems," Mazirion answered, nonchalantly. The guard took a moment to figure out this slightly cryptic answer, then blinked. "Oh, right. Well, if you want a job in a smithy there's a job centre nearby."

After receiving directions, Mazirion walked into the city where he planned to make his fortune...

15th day of Fall 511 AV

The gates of Syliras stood high and proud. They seemed to be challenging the coming darkness. A cold wind blew through the grass and the sun was setting beyond the horizon. The whispering of trees could be heard above everything and the night creatures began awakening.

One of those creatures was a feline Kelvic who stood crouched in the shadow of a nearby hill. Glaive ruffled her jet black fur as she gazed at the city infront of her and began padding over. Her eyes flicked from side to side and she shifted into her human form before appoaching the gates. A slight breeze blew her raven black hair over her cat-like icy blue eyes and she sighed as she flicked it away in slight annoyance. A guard appeared infront of her and she frowned.

'State your business in coming here.' He commanded tense.
Glaive merely looked at him and extended her pale fingers in greeting. She didn't feel like talking as usual so she pretended to be mute.

The guard glanced down at her hand and saw her sharp claw-like nails and took it as a threat. He gripped his sword but Glaive kept an emotionless mask over her features as she stared him down. Eventually he relaxed as if he had just noticed that she wasn't going to talk so he sighed and his hand dropped to his side.

'You may enter Kelvic, just don't cause any trouble.' He muttered. She shrugged of the warning and walked passed him. She was used to that kind of reaction. It was probably because of her apathy and the way she carried herself and wore black all the time. It was just part of her nature as a dark, nocturnal cat so she couldn't help it even if she wanted to. She walked silently into the city not making the slightest noise. Even the usual russle of one's clothes was lost as she finally entered the city. She was surprised that she had made such good time traveling from Denal, Kalea but she knew as a born wanderer she wouldn't stay long.

[Syliras Location] The Main Gates

Gabrielle walked up to the gates of Syliras. She was familiar with the process she had to face, as she had done it several times in the past. A cargo wagon was ahead of her, and she watched as the two Syliran Knights asked the man who accompanied the wagon about his business. She couldn't hear his answer, nor did she care, and she calmy waited until he was done and was let through the gates.

She stepped forward when she saw it was her turn, and the knight on the left looked her up and down. "What is your business here?" he asked her in a straightforward manner.

"I'm here for the market," replied Gabrielle. It was a common answer, and part of the truth. Her mother had asked her to purchase some cloth. Aside from that, Gabrielle also wanted to know if there was anything interesting she could do in Syliras. It had been months since she set foot in a city, and if she was lucky, maybe she could find entertaining to do aside from purchasing cloths.

[Syliras Location] The Main Gates

Postby Tara on November 17th, 2011, 8:03 pm

Timestamp: Fall day 76, 511AV

Tara looked at the gates from a tall oak tree, hiding behind the last of the gold and orange leaves that twisted a flapped in the shallow breeze. Tara took in a deep breath and leaped down from the tree, landing on her toes. She flicked her soft black hair off her pale face. Her hair had a slight wavy and flowed down her back to just below her waist. Her eyes were a soft golden colour. She wore a silver cloak which she had cut and fashion into a mini-dress that hugged her figure before flowing outwards from her hips to halfway above her knee. She wore white sandals on her small feet. She walked gracefully on her toes up to the gates where the Syliran guards stood. She moved the bow she had been carrying from the crook of her arm to her shoulder, hoping she would seem less threatening. She couldn't care less what they thought of her, but she did want to get into the city.

The guards stopped her, and asked what her business was in Syliras. "I'm Tara she smiled warmly, or at least she hoped she did. "I'm simply returning. I used to live here, a while back. Doubt you remember me though" she continued "I know my way around, more or less." They nodded curtly and Tara smiled at the welcome. They motioned for her to enter the gate and she quietly went through the large archway.

As the caravan she was hired to escort made its way past the twin gates Vexrea stopped looking up to the impressive fortifications .She crosses her arms, careful of the spikes over the knuckles “ Quite the place “ she mutters to herself

The Guards take a moment to size up the woman in front of them fairly tall for a woman she cut a somewhat imposing figure a black tunic and breeches .A pair of steel gauntlets covering her arms and fists. While not normally something she wears due to the season a black hooded cloak is pulled about her. As she approaches the guards, she pulls the hood back, taking a moment to look over them as well. Green eyes peering out from under short cropped black hair

My business in here? Business , as you put it. Mercenary for hire” She doubted that the guards liked the response, but she was let through regardless , making her way into the city proper

Alexander strode confidently to the inner gate, his thoughts on the training ahead of him in the Bronze Woods. Approaching the gate, he stood still, signaling a guard to grab his attention.

The Guard, obviously angered by Alexander's arrogant stride, took in the slightly built, handsome figure in front of him. He noticed the dagger attached to Alexander's side, but not saying anything of it. Such a small weapon was probably just for self-defense, and such things were common-place nowadays, with the roaming bandits and monsters stalking the roads. Deciding that the man before him was no threat, he asked,"Hail, where are you leaving to?" Alexander calmly and cooly replied, much to the annoyance of the guard,"I'm going to the Bronze Woods, and intend to return before the end of the day." The Guard, satisfied, opened the gates and allowed Alexander through.

Alexander slowly made his way through the winding road towards the Bronze Wood, ready for his day of training. Smiling, he couldn't wait to train his Reimancy in the seclusion of the woods.

[Syliras Location] The Main Gates

Postby Samael Friedlander on November 29th, 2011, 1:18 am

93rd day of fall

Samael gazed upon the main gates of Syliras, stroking his beard thoughtfully. A big city like this is bound to have some big secrets. He thought to himself. A guard noticed the young man and approached him, eyeing his cutlass suspiciously. "What is your business here, sir?" he said, in a blunt tone. "Oh you know, this and that." Samael replied, whimsically. "Fine, fine. Just go through and mind yourself." He said as he motioned him through. "Well aren't you the pleasant one? Very well I'll be one my way." And with that he walked through the gates, and prepared for whatever came his way.

Twilight; 10th Day of Winter; 511 A.V.

Laeriel didn't like the looks those guards were giving her.
The dusky-skinned girl feigned innocence and tugged her cloak around herself to conceal the saber at her hip. She should have packed away her weapon before coming to the gates.
The fading light illuminated the vast, intimidating structure that was the Main Gate. As she walked, Laeriel wondered--
"You! Girl!"
She craned her neck to look up at the guard at the wall.
"State your business," he said, gruffly.
She wanted to say: 'My own, and none of your concern,'
"Only passing through, sir. If it pleases you."
Apparently it did. She was waved through, but not without receiving a few suspicious, scathing glares.
