A half-collapsed city of alabaster and gold fiercely governed by Eypharians. Even partially ruined, it is the crown of the desert and a worthy testament to old glories and rising powers.

10th of Fall, 511 AV

Darkness had fallen over the city of Ahnatep, and the area was beginning to cool down. To Adnys, it was much more pleasant during the night due to the lower temperatures. He'd always preferred the cold to warmth. Staring up towards the clear sky, Adnys attempted to recognize each constellation as he noticed it, an exercise he had repeated again and again, every night for the past one hundred years. The monotonous task somehow helped him think, and though he didn't know why, he wasn't one to question why something worked.

This was a strange new place, and Adnys didn't know if he truly belonged here, but he hoped that he could stay here. If he found that it wasn't the right place, he would leave; it was that simple, but he was going to stay at least long enough to find out. Anything less would simply be a waste of his time and an unnecessary risk. Going on long journeys had always been something he'd loved to do, but he still had to recognize the dangers.

If he were to find some sort of employment, though, Adnys still probably wouldn't stay here forever; there was a whole world out there to explore, and he wanted to experience as much of it as possible.

Out in the open, Adnys hoped that there weren't very many bandits in the city of Ahnatep. That was one thing he liked about Syliras, its amazing lack of criminal activity. That was something that he hadn't seen before.

Though he didn't want to, Adnys would be willing to defend himself if necessary. Another twenty minutes, he resolved, then he would retire for the night so as to avoid any more danger than he was already putting himself into.

It was customary of the Eypharian people to let their revelries run as long into the night as possible. The longer they could drink and bask in opulence, the better they felt the next day. Tonight was no different for the many members of the Upper Class in Ahnatep. The night had been wasted away in celebration-- the meaning of which no one knew, but was likely something trivial, like a Nobleman's bruise healing properly, or the sun rising that morning. It had only ended just minutes ago, when the host had decided that his properties had been host to enough decadence for one night, and sent his guests out into the night. It was from this occasion that Tuwa was returning home, her belly filled with wine and food, though more of the latter than the former.

So, with the moon, stars, and the odd torch lighting her way (though the first two alone would have been sufficient), Tuwa shuffled home, her gait slow and languid. Even though it was the middle of the night, she wasn't in any particular hurry. She was sticking to well known-- and by extension, well guarded-- streets while dressed in opulent attire and the colors of the West Winds. It'd be a fools errand for someone to try and attack her. It was due to this tragic lack of care that she had the ability to focus more on the beautiful, twinkling stars above her than the road before her.

It was also due to this lack of attention and sense of entitlement that she failed to notice the man in the road before her. After all, it was everyone else's responsibility to move out of *her* way. She was so detached from the world around her that she only noticed she had hit someone or something when she was stumbling past them. Irritated, she turned around to face the other individual, four arms on her hips. "Watch where you stand, foreigner! Did your parents not teach you to move for those of the Houses in whatever backwater land you came from!?" she barked, her speech coming forth in crisp and clean Arumenic. It was only after she was done speaking that she actually took the time to try and determine what, precisely, the foreigner was. The curling, yellow horns that sprouted from the sides of his head were unlike anything she had ever seen, ruddy-colored hair lying atop his head. She hid her curiosity under her veneer of irritation. What in the world was this thing?

OOCI just described the hair color and horn color as generally as I could, since you didn't in your CS and they're given out per-season on the Ethaefal page. If something turns out to be wrong when you flesh out your CS, I'll go back and edit. Welcome to Mizahar, by the way (:

Adnys did not appreciate rudeness, but he realized that the Eypharian were fairly elitist and that the city practically belonged to them, so he stood up and turned towards Tuwa. "I apologize," he said. "I did not notice you." He stepped aside so that Tuwa could pass, attempting to maintain his dignity. He already disliked this person significantly.

Perhaps the Eypharians were in charge of the city, but in Adnys's opinion that didn't give them the right to act in such a way, since the woman had obviously not noticed his presence and yet had seemed extremely angry that he had not noticed hers. There were so many hypocrites out there, but Adnys supposed that there was no use in arguing with them. He'd never convince them of anything, and if it came to blows he'd only end up getting jailed or executed, more likely the latter.

Adnys attempted to conceal his anger and disdain beneath a shroud of politeness, something which he was rather good at. He'd always been able to conceal his true emotions well, and it would probably be rather useful in this case.
