Bones had been ready to fight, and he did not have to wait long for his foe to make the first move. Which gave him time to gauge his skill, and work out a plan to fight him.... As his philosophy said, learn what you are better at than the enemy, and beat them in that. Surely he was better at something.
As his foe went to move at him, Bones turned to meet him face on. As his first slash went to bite into him, Bones brought his gladius up to meet him. The two of their blades met, and Bones matched force to keep it there fighting, the blades pushing on one another held there.
Then he moved to attack, with a combo of moves, as the man tried to shift to his side. He would dart out his left empty hand to try and punch him in the face, to see his reaction. Depending on how skilled he was with fighting hand to hand, he might be able to dodge or parry the blow... And if he was not... He might just take a blow to the face...
But he did not stop there, twisting his lower half in a fashion, his long heavy tail would swing straight at the waist level of the snake man. If it struck, it would probably send him flying, or maybe even make him lose his grip on the blade in his hand.
But he did both of these physical things almost at the same time. This meant he would be hard pressed to stop both, and would most likely either be so busy avoiding the punch to the face, he would not be able to simultaneously avoid the tail sweeping up at his chest.
At the same time, it was all just a test. He was trying to gauge his relative skill... He was at least decent with his sword, he could tell that much, meaning they were similar in skill in them... But perhaps he was not good at fighting with his body?
Either way he would either score a blow, or learn more of the abilities of who he was facing. Both would be beneficial to him for this battle.
All of this happened in a few moments, as they met and fought. In battle, a lot could happen in a short time. From their perspective things were going much faster, though to those watching, it was a blur of movements and fighting. In the background, a snowball still arced in there general direction, possibly landing and hitting one of them, or even missing and striking the ground near them. But it had not reached them quite yet. |
