Taunting laughter [Sam & Emi]

Postby Sama'el Sunsinger on August 14th, 2011, 2:57 am

Pretty women were distracting enough for an eighteen year old man, especially one a little older than himself. There was the challenge of proving man enough for them, at least in one's own head. But he was glad she wasn't throwing rocks at him, and he was prepared to stop, call a draw, when she actually grazed Erzotol. He wondered if this 'Emi' was his wife to harangue him so, or perhaps some relative. When the Diamond clansman came at him, he knew there would be no pause for Emi's distractions.

The placement of his guard made making the best of Erzotol's error difficult, but he could at least block the strike to his midsection, this time bringing his blade around for a solid parry rather than the circular style he had been using before. It was always best to keep them guessing, he had learned. The force of the blow made his blade shiver in shock, and he sidestepped into it to make another attack more awkward, seeing the ire rising in the man and keen to take advantage of that. Rage would make him wild and wasteful, and soon he would be as tired as Sama'el. Then Sam's skill would make this easier.

So he parried the weakened counterattack, turned his shoulder into Erzotol's chest to knock him back a bit and provoke him, then blocked the retaliation, moving back and giving ground until he gave himself enough space to do some fancy footwork and cartwheel away, pretending to have more spring in his step than he ought. It was showing off, but to a purpose. Such things could taunt angry men, make them angrier.

He smirked.

It wasn't like Sama'el, but Erzotol didn't know that. He planted his feet into a wider stance, his scimitar held in an overhead guard with its point aimed at the other man. He waited.

Taunting laughter [Sam & Emi]

Postby Emizal Silverden on August 22nd, 2011, 7:27 pm

Emizal shook her head. She hoped her brother would set aside his rage and start thinking, only her presence seemed to deeper the rage with in him. She wished that she could help him, possibly shoot and arrow at the mans feet, possibly catching his pant leg and cause a moment of confusion so her brother to grab the upper hand. But her aim was poor to say the least and her brother would not be happy with her if she did. So Emizal sat on the side lines hoping that his rage would soon pass, and her brother could start fighting the way he should.

Emizal watched the young man stager after her rock throwing fiasco, he seemed some what stunted and looked her way, she locked eyes with him only to break it when her vision picked up her brother moving in to take another shot at the man. She glances back and saw the man too broke his stare to counter attack. She watched as the man used a stabbing motion with his circular blade this time instead of swiping it to block. Then she watched as he taunted her brother as he flipped away. She hid a giggle with a cough. She actually giggled, her eyes flew wide as she tried to gain control over the unstoppable snorts that would follow. Looking over at her brother, she hoped he didn't notice.  She knew her brother well enough to know that he would be unforgiving towards her if he knew she was laughing when he was taking this seriously. She would raise an eyebrow at him and shrug if he happened to look her way. If not she would just turn her attention back to the fight at hand, possibly take in the view of the muscular man with his shirt off. Oh what she would do to that, a smile would spread across her face as she shook away the dim witted day dreams.

Taunting laughter [Sam & Emi]

Postby Erzotol Silverden on August 25th, 2011, 3:22 pm

There was another ring of steel as his counter attack was defeated, and the man rolled in so close to render any strikes of his ineffective. A shoulder bumped into his chest and moved him back a step, as his sword swiped in awkwardly from the side only to be defeated by the upturned scimitar. The man was good he came to realize even more so, but even he found himself a slave to his own motions as he moved after the man pushing him back inch by inch. He swiped again with his sword only to find Sama'el nowhere near there and instead cart wheeling far from his reach. His muscles tensed at this, the blood rushing through his veins growing hot with anger that he couldn't land a simple strike on this man. All it would take was one little cut and perhaps then the knot of emotions in his stomach would release itself, because the foiled strikes that had happened so far did nothing to ease the rage that welled up inside of him. He didn't make a sound tough, just stood for a moment staring at Sam with his scimitar wavering over his head, and zoned in on the warrior till all he could see was the man, and everything was forgotten except the rage that pulsed inside of him, and the need to sate it, this man now the target of his ire.

In his mind there was only one thing he could do, and that was to fight till he couldn't fight anymore. He rushed across the distance, his feet pounding the earth as he cleared it, striking diagonally, hoping beyond anything else to catch him off his guard and actually score a hit. When the blade met with steel and not flesh though, another baser option opened itself up in his mind. If Sama'el blocked it successfully and was still in front of him, he would try to bear his weight over on the man and bring him to the ground, letting the weapons drop in uselessness and instead favoring his hands now, aiming one heavy punch at Sama'el's side. If Sama'el didn't block, stepped to the side, or otherwise avoided him he would simply try to turn in place, keeping his blade ready, and striking whenever he thought he saw a opening, and defending as best he could when the man tried to strike him.

Taunting laughter [Sam & Emi]

Postby Sama'el Sunsinger on August 26th, 2011, 8:59 pm

Sama'el had to pretend the pretty woman wasn't standing there or he would be distracted and likely to lose or have one of them get hurt. They weren't practicing with practice blades, after all, but real iron. When Erzotol bulled into him, he caught the strike easily enough, though his arms began to tremor as all this took their toll upon him. It was good to spar at the end of his workout, because he was depleted and didn't have the energy to spare on fanciness, just on staying whole. But the more rested man came faster than he had anticipated, and just kept moving with his momentum, not leaving Sam much room to round out of the lock of their blades. A fist landed in his ribs with bruising force and all he could do was stutter step backward until his heel caught and he crashed to the ground with the mountain of a man's weight bearing down on him.

One hand loosed from the hilt of his scimitar to help break his fall, jarring his wrist as he instinctively tried to curl his back to spread the shock of impact along the length of him rather than all on one point. But all the same, the back of his head hit the turf enough to cloud his vision and disorient him. It had been a long time since he had fought at this close quarters and been injured; instinct continued to take over. His forehead lashed out, and the hardest part of his head struck Erzotol a glancing blow over his eye, leaving the both of them a bit stunned.

Sama'el groaned.

Taunting laughter [Sam & Emi]

Postby Emizal Silverden on September 23rd, 2011, 9:21 pm

Emizal watched as both men spent energy, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, each doing their best. Her brother seemed to be still in his fit of rage, the other man seemed to feed of it. She watched with interest as her brother seemed to grow tired of the sword play. She smirked a bit as her brother landed a few slugs, and down right laughed when the other man head butted her brother. It wasn't funny that the men got hurt, just a special way to end a battle.

With nothing left to watch, she gathered her skirt and walked over to the men. Clapping for them, "Interesting duel," she spoke softly, she looked towards her brother first, "let me look at that." Emizal gently touched his head, smiling at him " I think you will survive." she laughed and hugged him, "so good to see you!" she didn't mind that he stunk or that he was dripping with his own funk. She finally let go and smiled brightly. Looking down at the man on the ground groaning, she made a concerned face, "Do you think he is alright?"

(sorry about the delay post)

Taunting laughter [Sam & Emi]

Postby Erzotol Silverden on September 28th, 2011, 9:19 pm

Pain crackled across his mind as the shock of the head butt rattled through him and forced him off Sama'el. His hands immediately went up to cradle his forehead, as the stars started swimming before his vision, and his heart drummed deafeningly in his ears. Above his left eye, blood flowed freely, adding to his disorientation as he rolled groaning on the ground, pain throbbing across his body. He could barely hear his sister as she talked to him, but through his left eye he could see that it was her speaking to him, and in response he stretched out his arm to wrap around her and return her hug with more energy than he had though he had left. Sitting up like that cause a wave of nausea to wash through him, but it was quick to settle out of him, and eventually even the pain too dwindled to a dull throbbing, exaggerated only whenever he blinked or turned his head.

"He's fine, in the same shape as me I take" he groused, his voice thick and heavy as he struggled to form the words in pavi. He was among friends, no need to bother with common, especially as his mind was addled at the present moment. Even slower about standing up than he was sitting up, he was eventually back on his feet, and half dragging his feet he moved over to the watchman.

"Quite the thick skull you got" Erzotol stated, his hand rubbing his temple to accent the point.

"I'm all right," he said. It wasn't quite a groan, but it was close. He blinked at Erzotol, surprised that he had managed to split the skin with his own head. The goofy look passed as he blinked away his own stars. Having used the right part of his head, the thickest part of the skull, he wasn't in quite as bad shape as the bigger man, but his brain was still a bit rattled.

"Sorry about that. Instinct. We'll have to have a rematch soon."

His smile was a bit pained, but genuine.

"Well fought, Erzotol Silverden," he said, reaching out to clasp wrists with the other warrior. "And is this your... wife?"

Taunting laughter [Sam & Emi]

Postby Emizal Silverden on October 11th, 2011, 11:47 pm

The embrace her brother gave in returned was a bit tighter then she expected, she gasped for air and pushed his chest. "Erzotol...to tight...cant breath..." when he did let go she fixed her dress, pleased he was just as happy to see her as she was him. She looked at her brother as he helped the other man up, relieved to see he was okay too. "your....wife?" the other man asked, Emizal raised an eyebrow and looked at the man with a bit of a disgusted look on her face. "eh no..." she spoke with a bit of distain in her voice. She tried not to get offended by this mans question, after all he didn't know. She looked at her brother and wondered if it wasn't apparent that they were siblings, they had the same eyes, same muted brown hair..but that's when her brothers and her resemblance stopped. She figured she should clear up their relationship before this man got carried away. She looked back at the man and gave a polite smile, "I'm Emizal Silverden, this brutes younger sister." she walked over to the two and stuck out her hand. She didn't know if he would take her offer to greet each other, mostly the grasping of the arms was held for men, but that never stopped her before.

"Sorry if I cut your duel short, I was just looking forward to seeing him." she turned to look at her brother, "Mother ended up stoping me before I could get to you this morning."   She made a I am sorry to bother you while you are training look. " Also sorry about that rock thing... I was expecting you to dodge it.." she looked away hiding a bit of a blush. "Anyways..." Now she wasn't sure what to say or do, a little embarrassed that she was in a dress and also that the young man was now not preoccupied with the duel she felt nervous. She looked closer at the man, well aware of a slight attraction she had for this stranger. She quickly looked away and watched her brother, it was really nice seeing him. "so is this what you been doing since I left? Getting yourself beat, what a pain" she laughed lightly.

Taunting laughter [Sam & Emi]

Postby Erzotol Silverden on October 23rd, 2011, 3:09 am

His pulse quickened in his veins as his arm reached out to clasp the man's, throwing his weight into the clasp as he did so he could help pull the watchman up. Erzotol continued to watch the man, reaching up his arm to wipe at the blood that trickled down the side of his face, as he listened to him, casting a glance every other moment at his sister. He couldn't prevent his face from squinting up in disgust at the mention of his dear sister being his wife, and spitting on the ground, he turned to face the man and open his mouth to clarify their relationship when Emi answered for him. It was good she cleared that up fast, the last thing he needed was someone running around Endrykas tying to his sister in such a way. The thought of it sent small shudders through him, but after a deep exhale, thoughts of it faded away, and he could look upon his sister again, and Sama'el. "I wouldn't dare to try my hand at restraining this one, she got a bit of fire in her that is certain" Erzotol said, chuckling, as he patted Emi's shoulder, his blue eyes shining as he watched the man. Any chance for a playful jab at his sister was always a welcome one, even in front of strangers, and he felt the awkward moment could use a bit of levity anyway.

"How ever did mother manage to squeeze you into a dress sister, and why pray tell did you let her? Plan on shirking off all responsibilities this day just to collect the flowers?" He said, picking up an edge of her dress as if to accentuate his point. Baffled, he turned about to face her more squarely, shaking his head as he did, and keeping the wry smile that long to show itself across his face hidden behind a unconcerned look. "I could ask the same of you one who disappears into the grass without any word to your brother" Erzotol was quick to reply, a slight frown tugging at his features.

Taunting laughter [Sam & Emi]

Postby Sama'el Sunsinger on October 23rd, 2011, 6:25 am

Emizal and Erzotol both offered him hands up, and so he took them, then clasped wrists with them both in proper greeting. His face was comically apologetic.

"My apologies," he said, "I see the resemblances now. Must have hit my head harder than I thought."

Part of him was relieved, though. This was one more pretty Drykas girl who might not be married already, and he had made a good show of his skills against her brother while still ending on amiable terms. He wasn't going to propose marriage on the spot, or anything, but he was certainly eyeing potential mates these days. It didn't hurt to look.

Quietly, he witnessed their sibling banter, wishing he had some of his brothers and sisters and cousins back from Dira's embrace, but the pang of nostalgia was brief. Despite distances, there were still Eldon and Kasb'el, and friends like Denen and Vanator. Someday he would be Ankal of his pavilion and there would be such loving bickering again in his life.
