Syllke wasn’t bothered to wait for Galio to speak. He had felt the sudden stiffness of Seo’s hand in his, and had given his friend a reassuring squeeze. He felt like the quicker they got through the formalities, the more at ease Seodai would be. Reaching for Galio’s shoulder with his free hand, Sylke gave it a friendly pat. “Galio, this is Seodai. Seo, this is my friend, Galio. The one Vanos and I had that adventure in the cave with?” That had been a fine story to tell. “Good to see you wearing two legs today, Galio. I’d be afraid there wouldn’t be enough to for you to eat if you were wearing your fur coat.” Syllke laughed. Squeezing Seo’s hand again, he swung it forward a bit. “Seo helped grow most of it – he’s Theo’s nephew.” His eyes, rippling with a multitude of colors, turned to the dark haired girl. “Is this one of your sisters? You must be very happy to have her here with you at last.” To the girl herself, he said with a grin, “I’m Syllke – don’t believe anything your brother says about me – unless it’s good.” |
