51 Summer 511 A rare occurrence for Bones, he found himself out and about through the city at night. He had thought he heard something, and decided to follow it out. Apparently the city had shifted as he laid down. After stepping out into the middle of someones bathroom, while they were sitting naked in a tub... He ran off to find were he should be... Though he did wonder how his entire house had fit into someones bathroom... Finally he found himself at a place he knew well, staring at the Coliseum as the sun set behind it. He slowly walked up to it, darting his tongue out for a moment and tasting at the air. He was surprised to smell a familiar scent, though he could not tell who it was in this form. His senses were not quite strong enough. Walking inside, he saw torches had been lit in the hallways, and he went along to the room he normally went into to change into his gear. As he neared, he could hear Shale speaking. "... And we were supposed to have both of them for a late night fight. And somehow they ended up falling into a hole filled with a hundred starving rabid rats! Their both dead! Now we have no one to go on!" As Shale continued to complain to the wall in general, he did not notice Bones walk up near him. Was he talking to a wall? Or telling the city what happened? Quite odd. Just then, Shale noticed Bones presence, and let a smile cross his features, saying an quickly muttered "thanks" out of the corner of his mouth, to no one in general. "There you are, its time for you to go on! Why are you late? And were is the other person, there is supposed to be two of you! Hurry up and get ready!!!"

[Miro]

Miro had come across the colosseum in his travels this night. He saw somebody going in. His vision at night was normally pretty good, but he swore that Bones was entering the colosseum. "Why would Bones be here?" He followed him in, waiting a room behind until he heard Shale ask "Where is the other person?" Miro burst into the room and said "Here I am" He walked up and placed his hand on Bones' shoulder. "I thought I saw you walk in here. What do you think we will get to fight? Oh well, it really doesn't matter, we will win!"

Miro was getting ready for combat. He started to focus his djed to the edge of his skin and producing res all over his body, like a slight sweat. He increased the amount of liquid res over his chest and back especially. In his right arm he focused his djed in his muscles, readying it for a flux attack. In his left arm he held Griever. He was ready to draw him out any moment. His swordsmanship was getting better each time he used Griever. They seemed to be getting more and more in tuned. Mind sharp, reflexes reaching their peak. He was ready for a fight, and it was going to be dark. Really dark! What could be more fun? He turned to Bones, devoting his attention to his comrade.

Bones ignored Miro's outburst. He was always bursting in on him, and was always being rude. At this point he was just finding he was annoyed by him. As Shale screamed a bit more, Bones walked off, heading off to were combatants readied themselves. He went ahead and tossed his pack to the side, and disrobed himself. Standing there, he entered into his change into dhani form with Miro nearby. It took a only thirty seconds for him to change. His features would seem to stretch out... his face smoothed... His legs joined into one, getting longer and longer as it formed a tail... His face flattened, his nostrils becoming slits, and his head becoming more snakelike. His skin began to look like scales on his head and tail, though his torso stayed more or less the same... Finally he was done, with the head of a snake, along with its tail, but his torso and arms still looking like a humans. Grabbing up his gladius, he strapped it to his back, and prepared himself for the fight. Looking over, he would motion for Miro to follow, and head down the torch lit passage that led out into the arena. Maybe they would have a good fight tonight, get there blood pumping, their battle spirits alive. Finally they would reach a iron gateway, which would rise to let them through.

Miro followed Bones to the ready room. He watched as the man stripped his clothes away and began to transform into his half snake form. He marveled at the form, taking note of the entire process. He began to daydream, thinking of what he would look look like half snake. Miro began to prepare himself as well. He emitted enough res to cover both of his arms quite thickly. He let it start to cover his shoulders and chest too. Bones readied his weapon and began to prepare himself.

Bones let out a signal, leading Miro on. He took a deep breath, trying not to think much about what was going on, only to get it over with fast. To do it well, and prove himself. The torch danced back and forth as it lead the way. The time seemed to pass slowly. The chime or two they were walking seemed to span the length of several bells. He was always jumping into situations, and he had no idea what they were fighting. Shale could have sent them to their deaths, just for the sake of people cheering for their deaths. Miro's djed became panicked. He clenched his body up, following solemnly. Miro reached the gates, the cool night air greeted them calmly. As it began to rise Miro took a deep breath.

Walking through the gateway, Bones darted out his tongue, tasting the air. THe scent was interesting to say the least. Though he was pondering on something Shale had said... Something about a "special twist"... And to "wait till you attack".... What could he have meant? Well they would know soon enough whatever mad twist Shale had put into the fight. He did like to keep things interesting. After announcing the two of them, they both walked out, to the sound of iron on stone as the gate lowered behind them. Finally a gate would open up across from them, and something would stir from within. He could not see it with his eyes, but he could sense a large heat signature from within. "Ssere isss eisser sssomething big, or a lot of sssomessing coming... Get ready... And look out for Ssshales twist... Whatever ssat isss..." Finally something stirred, and a rush of wings could be heard. An entire swarm of Snarlwings came flying out, and began circling over there head, far out of reach. So far Bones could not tell what was different about them, but something must have been done.... What was this mystery twist?

[Miro]

Miro focused his res to his right arm. He shaped it into a long shaft with a blade at the top. The long thick blade spanned a foot at the end of the pole. It started at one side as a sharp sturdy blade that went to the edge and rounded down the other side. He transmuted it to ice and griped it, moving into stance. Moving the rest of his res to his back, he fastened a thick belt of ice to hold Griever. He pooled his djed into his striking arm and waited, keeping his eyes fixed on the creatures above. He moved over closer to Bones, taking refuge in his shadow.

Bones stood there, ready to fight.... These odd creatures looked quite dangerous, and something not to be trifled with... Bones held his gladius at the ready, the blade ready to slice through any of the creatures that came near.... And finally a pair of them dive bombed him. As the two came, he moved at it, and slashed downward, expecting to cleave the creature in two. But he was caught by surprise as his blade bounced right off of it, and a green light flared all over the surface of it... For a few moments he struggled to figure it out, and finally he understood that they had been shielded for protection... Just in time for the second one to go by and get a slice to his snout with its wingtip... Bones staggered back, hitting Miro who had been trying to use him for cover. He let out a hiss of pain, as blood flowed from his snout, and the cut on it. Without looking, he spoke to Miro, who seemed to be cowardly hiding... "Ssey have been ssshielded.... Blades do not work on them...We will have to fight them another way... Having said this, Bones put away his gladius, as it would be of no help in this fight... And held up his hands, ready to crush anything in his grip. Another grouping of snarlwings came down, trying to slice them to bits. Several came at Bones, and several at Miro. Bones advanced on them, trying to grab one, missing, and getting a slice to the shoulder from the wingtip... But the second he was able to grab, catching its light furry body. In a rage now, from the pain, Bones squeezed with his inhuman grip, and broke the creatures spine in several places, making it go limp and lifeless... Then he darted his senses around, looking for were the next would come from, seeing there heat signatures every were, most of them swirling overhead... Ready to kill the lot of them with his bare hands if he had to... He was not sure what Miro was doing, but he surely would try to use magic on them, but find that the magic he used would be about as successful as Bones gladius, due to the powerful shields on the beasts... If they wanted to win, they would both have to step out of there comfort zone, and fight in a way they were not used to... Already Bones felt a bit odd without his gladius, used to fighting with it in the Colosseum...

Notice I can see where things got out of hand here. This is ridiculously impossible. I gave players some creative freedom with what they fight in here, yes, but if you want a flock of snarlwings that are magically shielded so swords and reimancy dont work that is mod territory. Im reading this and Im thinking, "What is going to happen next? Are they going to breathe fire too?!" Its getting out of hand, and the point here Im trying to make is both of you would die under these conditions. Snarlwings are dangerous! It seems this thread is taking them lightly and the sheer numbers are staggering. Please change it to make it more appropriate and if you want magical twists ask a mod first because that is our territory. Here is what needs to be changed: Number of Snarlwings Shields taken off Do not post any more until this situation has been resolved and this notice has been taken down.
