ooo beautiful books!! I adore them all! the housekeeping, runes and herb gardening are good ones--take notes! I own and have repeatedly read all the hp's with long paragraphs memorized. *hugs liz for her shared nerdiness* Books look good on everyone! Enjoy! <3's and noms

I read those back when I was an active wiccan and they each have great merit. If you're pagan or wiccan, you'll enjoy them immensely and merry part. ;)

Oracle - The Pulling of Hair

I'm stressed out. No matter how passionately I try to throw myself into doing something I love, I can't. Not today at least. I can't write, I can't post, I can't grade, I can't Mod, I can't even read.

I am so far behind since the weekend but I just cannot seem to "light a fire under my ass" so to speak. It doesn't help I'm pumped full of antihistamines. Thanks subway for ruining my day.

How did they ruin it you may ask? Anyone who has been with me since the start or stalked me on occasion probably knows about my allergy to raw onion. Only raw though, once the onion is cooked the oils can't hurt me (as much...if I eat enough of it I will get sick sooner or later but it's not as bad). I'm glad I can eat it cooked or else I would just roll over and die. I love roast, (good) onion rings, Philly cheese steak and just about everything my roomie cookies. I think that woman could eat an onion like I eat apples, freaks me our a little really.

So back to topic: while out shopping today for razors, shoes and other random necessities for around the house we decided it would be a good idea to stop at subway to get some lunch. We all ordered and I got a long standing favorite of mine : the sweet onion chicken...

The onion is minimal and well cookies. So the sauce doesn't bother me in small amounts, like they do in Hamilton where I used to live. Sadly this is not Hamilton. I wasn't paying attention and he drowns my sub in sweet onion sauce. OK, while this is annoying it's not that big a deal so I let it go. I sick down to eat and a few bites in a feel a tingling and then a tickle. It keeps getting worse till my whole throat is almost swollen shut. Turns out he put onion on both of my friends subs and didn't change his gloves, also a few pieces must have fallen in the lettuce because I had a few stray raw pieces as well.

To keep a short story from getting long I'll say this: I got sick. Horribly sick. I ended up not going to school today and scarfing down some antihistamines as soon as I got home. My brain is mush right now and I have two major grades due in the morning which I hope will not be horribly affected by this event.

So if you are waiting for me to do something for you, I am very sorry. Be patient and I will get caught up. :)

*passes out cookies, but not onion cookies, and enjoys*

Love,

Liz

Eeeep... hope the swelling goes down soon Liz, I'm with you on people not quite understanding how food allergies work. The number of times I've gone out for dinner and asked if things are gluten free and been told 'yes' when they're either not sure what I'm asking or someone's contaminated the food with flour is... silly. And painful. Granted my throat doesn't swell up, I just get exhausted, sick and... some other things that aren't suitable for discussing in polite society, but still it's not much fun. And people wonder why I don't eat out much anymore.

Sweetie, make up some cinnamon tea with honey! That's what I do when some idiot perfume girl randomly sprays me. I'm cereal. If there's talc/baby powder in a perfume or product=balloon fish! I've tried putting up a hand to say stop--so they assume I want it on my wrist and spray away like an invitation! Allergies suck and sometimes there's just no avoiding it. Do your best and make it through. Like I said: hot cinnamon tea with honey--it opens up all the blood vessels starting with your sinuses and mouth and it's magick... ;)
