Sayf al Din (from the Tents of Khalil, of the Sons of Jeroab) [ Emedah Shir / Sword of Faith ] Basic Information: Name: Sayf al Din Race: Benshira Gender: Male Age: 31 Birthday: 73th of Summer, 480 AV Languages: Fluent; Shiber Basic/Conversational; Common No 3rd language known yet. Sayf's Appearance: Although he roams the Eyktol Region, he stays true to his Benshira roots and it shows in his appearance. His attire and body/face appearance are common in the Benshira Tents, he keeps his black facial hair rather trimmed and his skin tone is a rich brown color due to living life underneath Syna's sun. His clothing usually consists of a rustcolored tunic made of light fabric with an equally light creamcolored sleeved vest over his torso. His footwear is sturdy and made for taking long hikes during inhospitable land. His shortcape is of the same color as his tunic and occasionally he also wears a light, thin leather vest over his vest. Mainly during sandstorms and heavy winds so that his clothes are better protected against the shredding sandflares. His thick, black eyebrows are natural bushy arcs over his icy sapphire eyes and his black headband, with a black cloth attached to its rear so that his neck is protected aswell, covers his equally black hair that is usually kept rather short. Not shaven but short like a classic human would keep it, a bit rough and unkempt looking though. Sayf's Concept: Sayf is a faithful servant of Yahal, the God of Faith and Purity, and it shows in the way he has trusted Yahal in showing him the way in his life. Sayf isn't a prief of Yahal since only the Sons of Rapa are allowed to, but he lives his life in Yahal's Name nonetheless. Not through preaching his believes on deaf men's ears but by the way he speaks, acts and lives. Everything he does has some sort of connection to Yahal, his decision to leave his family, the Tents of Khalil, was due to Sayf's belief that Yahal showed him signs that the path he had to take was not parallel to the paths his Tent had to follow. It was a path he himself had to undertake, after noticing several of these signs, including visions of Yahal in Sayf's dreams and worldly signs indicating the visions spoke true words regarding his lifepath. One of these signs was a flock of birds coarsing throug the sky in perfect harmony and unity when suddenly one of them broke away and went his own path, unfazed by departing from his flock and without hesitation or turning back. It was upon seeing this sign that Sayf felt a sudden rush in his heart and there was no doubt in his heart or mind that this was Yahal's wish, and as such Sayf's duty. Casting everyone away who was dear to him, after explaining what happened over the period of time that Yahal showed him the way, he didn't look back nor hesitate. He packed the necessary belongings to survive in the vast lands of Eyktol and went on the path shown by Yahal's signs and blessing. This happened a little over 3 years ago and he hasn't felt doubt not regret over his actions. He sacrificed for Yahal, he trusts in Yahal and he prays to His name. Proficient in the (Two Handed) Great Scimitar and to a lesser extent the Recurve Bow, to defend himself against his encountered foes, creatures and humans alike, he carries them around with him nearly at all times. Especially when outside a civilized area. Sayf still remembers the training he has done from before his "self-induced banishment" from his Tents aswell. Involving Spiritism, helping those that are unable to traverse the domain between life and the afterlife. Stuck in a certain limbo between those domains. Granted he has never met a ghost or ethereal creature so far, but he has every intention to help those that he will encounter in the future. Ofcourse Sayf's has learned to survive rather well in the outdoors considering he has spent much time travelling and roaming Eyktol in search for the next sign or vision that Yahal will send him, until that day comes, he will roam Mizahar until Yahal deems him worthy to send him another enlightened path to take. Last but not least, Sayf travels the Eyktol Region with his horse and has a slight connection with it, not to be mistaken with not caring for the Eyktolian Desertbred, because he does. But he is rather inapt at building an actual bond with it, so far anyway. Character History: After having travelled years in the Eyktol Region, Sayf received another sign of Yahal. A vision appeared as a dream, transferring him to barren beach dividing a rough ocean and a thick jungle. But it was something in the distance that caught his eye and didn't let it go...an island...The island was shrouded and blurry but the feeling inside him burning with passion and determination, told him that that was where he was needed and that going to that island is his new goal and duty. When he woke up, Sayf remembered the dream extremely clearly from start to finish. He tried to understand the dream by dividing it into pieces and trying to see the symbolism of the rough ocean, the thick jungle behind him and the mezmerizing island. He failed horribly and for several days he felt extremely depressed in his lacking ability to follow Yahal's wish. After several days and nights of praying to Yahal for guidance, which did not come, he realized he shouldn't depend on Yahal too often. He was a guiding light, but not the property of Sayf. Ashamed and broken, Sayf roamed the desert of Eyktol before realizing there was no shame in asking for help when needed. Returning to Yahebah, he was greeted with open arms by his Tents but he didn't come for pleasantries nor to stay, he came for information and advice. Sayf called for the entirety of the Tents of Khalil and revealed his vision from Yahal to his family. Everyone was dumbfounded by the signs in the vision and could not help Sayf, but one. The Patriarch of the Tents of Khalil dismissed everyone excluding Sayf, and told him of the route he had to take, the route to Black Rock. He informed Sayf it was the domain of Dira and that everyone in it, and everything, should be treated with respect. He also informed him it would be a great place to grow both in spirit, mind and body. " Yahal guides you, my son, wherever he guides you to...no matter how dark or how dangerous, 't is the right path for you. " After the words of the Patriarch had reached Sayf, he got up slowly. Bowing and bidding his farewell to his Patriarch in a respectful yet warm and familiar manner, he left Yahebah and the Tents of Khalil once again. Once again the bird breaks away from its flock, once again Yahal shows him the way. Sayf's Skills:
