Fall 9, 511 AV
Blythe sat at the foot of her bed. Her legs bent at the knee, and curled into her slender form, as she sat up straight. Tall, and proud. Across from her, propped up against a small bed of pillows, sat another of her Konti sisters. A client with long blonde hair that had been tied up into a tight bun. For she was a ballerina, or so she said. Her name was Nina, and Blythe was to give her a reading. The elegant woman who sat before her wished to know if she would acquire a larger role in the upcoming ballet one of the local troupes was to put on for the people's enjoyment. An easy enough question, which Blythe could surely answer with the help of the cards.
The elder Konti, Blythe, held her Shadowscapes tarot deck in her hands, and was shuffling the cards slowly, methodically, as the box rested to her side. Tickling a space just below her knee. Finally, she lay the cards out, face down, in the space that lingered between her and her client. "Your question is simple, thus, a single card reading shall be used. For it is concise, and to the point. No significator shall be used, or a card that represents you throughout the course of the reading. Plain and simple. Sound good?" Blythe asked.
Nina nodded. "Now, please run your left hand over the cards. When you feel drawn to one, hand it to me," Blythe instructed. Nina nodded, and did as she was told. Soon enough, she had handed Blythe a card, which the Konti set in the center of her lap. Atop a fold in her dress, as she scooped up the others that they would not be using, and placed them back in the box. Before setting everything aside.
When that was done, Blythe placed the single card in the space between herself and her client, and flipped it over. Staring back at each of them was a card of largely, a light blue tone. In the top right hand corner hung a golden-colored sun, beneath which stood a man atop a stone pillar. Shrouded in a dark grey cape, as he held a lantern up towards the sky. "This is the hermit," Blythe explained. "It signifies taking time away from certain events, relationships, withdrawing so you may take on a more introspective stance, and gather your strength. Taking time to find your inner voice, an inner vision for yourself. It represents a need for understanding, and advice, someone who will offer you their knowledge and their guidance. Personal experience and thoughtful temperance."
Blythe paused for a moment, allowing her words to sink in, before she offered Nina her interpretation of the card. "It seems as though you are going to hide within some sort of shell. Withdraw yourself from the world, for a time," Blythe began. "Perhaps you have grown tired of it. Even wary. Afraid. Perhaps, you simply need the time to look deeply at yourself, and consider your happiness. Consider whether or not this is the life you wish to lead. Consider whether or not, a change is in order." Blythe paused for a moment, swallowing the clump of saliva that had gathered in her throat before continuing. "If you find that you wish to stay in your present field, then you will return to it stronger. Perhaps you will even gain aid in this matter. Making you a far more skilled individual in the end."
Blythe paused again. "It seems as though, at first, because of your turning away, you may receive a smaller role. But when you return, if you choose to return, you will come back strong. Perhaps then, you will acquire whatever it is you seem to seek... whatever it is your heart truly desires."
Nina nodded. "Thank you Blythe," she whispered, as Blythe scooped the hermit up, and placed him back in the box with the others.
"You're welcome," Blythe replied, as Nina got up, and went on her way.
OOCAs usual, I used the facade tarot site as a reference.
