It was early fall, summer just passed, but it was already rainy. Normal for Denval, it was barely dry here. It was raining a bit yesterday, but today it was warmer, so Luna and Galio, Lucy's siblings, decided to go out and play. She didn't feel like staying home either, but her mom asked her for help about some fishes, so she decided not to go. This year was great for them, there were a lots of fish which meant a lots of money. She was happy for that, though, they were pretty poor. They were a Klevic family which lived along with humans, so they had a rough times, but they could always hunt around. She was happy, and she thought her parents and siblings were, too, so it was not really important.

She just moved fish to boxes, it was not a hard job, and she was glad to be helping. She looked at one of fishes. Her eyes were empty, glass eyes. Similar to her Klevic eyes, eagle eyes. She left that thought and trowed fish to box. She heard a door opening, and she looked at them. At the second she thought she's seeing a man, blond man, with weird smile, but nobody was at the door, and they were closed, as they should be.

"What is it, honey?", her mom asked.

"Oh... Nothing. I thought I've seen something.", she looked at her mom's serious eyes. "Un... Mom? I wanted to tell you something."

She remembered dark feeling she had yesterday, which she was still having. Her mom told her to tell about it as soon as it's possible if that happens. Luna and Galio said they felt the same. She was a little afraid, so she didn't waited for her mom yesterday, she just went to sleep. She thought she'll catch a cold too, so she was really sleepy.

"I felt that... remember what you were talking about? Dark feeling, wanting to escape. I still don't want to be here. Galio and Luna too."

Her parents suddenly stopped their work and both were looking at her, shocked. She thought she saw fear in their eyes too. She was afraid. Her mom and dad? They were never afraid. They always used to say that everything will become past one day, and that we'll laugh to it. But now, here, they were afraid. That made Lucy feel panic.

[Flashback]That day (Dax)

Postby Dax on November 7th, 2011, 8:42 pm

Dax had been in Denval for several days now and he had not been impressed with the town. It was far too quiet here for his liking. It was a small town and seemed that most people got along well enough with each other. He preferred more bustling streets, more people meant more opportunities to score some easy cash or food but here people were less oblivious than large city folk. There was little reason for him to stay here any longer as it didn't seem he could find anything useful to him; there didn't seem to be much knowledge of magic here. Besides it always seemed to be raining here and it was cold. He hated that most of all, warmer temperatures definitely suited him better than this awful place. Food was an issue as well; he hadn't eaten anything in a day and had spent the night hunkered down in the rubble that surround the town.

At least the weather today was slightly better, it had warmed up some and he was taking a walk through the village. The sight of these people were becoming maddening to him. In his mind they were all practically worthless, it seemed no one here had any real power. Instead they seemed all like simple workers, no one stood out to him, which meant that they were all expendable. He understood the necessity for these people, but an entire town of them seemed like a waste with no one to profit from it. This place was terrible and he hated it and he hated the people who lived here for being so worthless and weak. A change of venue was in order he thought. So tomorrow he would leave this wretched place for good. Perhaps I should burn it all down as a going away present. I would be doing them a favor, they're all just wasting away. Besides its not like anyone would miss them. He thought to himself as he casually stepped quietly through the village. It was a fun thought but honestly he didn't have the strength and he just wanted to be gone as soon as possible. But his last night he would eat well and sleep in a bed, not under a rock like some savage beast.

All he needed was a target and the opportunity. Something easy, he wasn't much in the mood to have to work for what he wanted today. This town seemed full of weaklings surely their minds should be easy enough for him to manipulate. As he made his way trying to come up with a plan his stomach churned and he grabbed at it for a moment. He let a heavy sigh, "Fuck it." He said to no one but himself. He was tired of waiting and his impatience had taken over. Gone were his reasoning and strategically planning, he would try something a little more bold. However if it paid off it would be worth it.

He turned and made for the nearest house to him. Slowly he approached walking on the tips of his toes trying not to make a sound. He made his way up to the door and pressed his ear against it listening to what lay wait inside for him. There were voices inside but not many, no more than four he thought, probably less than that. It was good enough for him, he would take his chances with this one.

He pushed the door open as quickly and quietly as he could and spun in. He couldn't help but smile as he did as his own boldness surprised even him at the moment. A quick spin in through the door and he saw a small girl, his eyes met her's and immediately he went to work on her. You see nothing. Go back to working. everything is alright. Was all he could come up with on such short notice but he focused that as his eyes narrowed, he glared at the girl for only a moment and then quickly shut the door as quietly as he could. With one quick hop step he pressed his back firmly against the wall and pulled the hood of his purple silk cloak over his head. His mind focused harder and harder You see nothing. Everything is fine. There is no man here. He eyes burned from concentration and he could feel a headache coming but this would take as much focus as he could muster for the time being. The room had three people, the girl and two others, possibly her parents. He decided that it must be her parents.

The girl was still looking at the door when she spoke up. His breath was quiet and controlled and his body stood still as a board. For the moment at least it seemed he had slipped in unnoticed but he would like to remain that way until he had come up with a better plan. Regret began to set in as he realized he had not made the smartest decision. But then his playful nature set in and he realized it was all a game. He could handle these people and if not he would run and leave town earlier than expected, simple as that. A slight grin crept across his face. But now was the time for focus, he needed to see how these people acted for the next few minutes before he could make his next move. It seemed for the moment at least that he had made it into the house nearly undetected. So there he stood as quiet and still as could be, several steps away from the door pressed against the wall.

"Really? Lucy, that's not something to be kidding with, honey. Are you sure?"

"Yes, mom. I'm sorry for not telling you earlier."

Her mom looked at her father. They seemed so serious. Lucy was really scared now, and she stopped working. Her parents stopped as soon as they heard what she had to say. Her mom whispered something and her dad agreed.

"Lu, listen to me very carefully. What you felt was animal instinct. Our is really weak because of living with humans for so long. Anyway, you must listen to it, always! And you must run away to the forest. We will meet somewhere around the three Galio likes to climb, over the hill, you know which one? Good. If we don't come in few days leave. Go anywhere. Don't come back to the house."

"But, what about Luna and Galio?"

"We will find them. Now morph and go!", she ordered. But Lucy didn't wanted to. She wanted to stay and help, she would find her siblings faster, and they could go together. Actually, she was afraid because her mom said they might not come. What does it mean? They started to fight, and her parents were really out of patience.
