The Princess Box A home made cat house. Kay, so I love animals. I'll do anything for them. I recently lost my cat, Lucy, who I got for my eleventh birthday. She was roughly 15 years old when she died. She had a long, happy life and I still miss her. ![]() Lucy, a few months before she passed away, in her favorite sleeping position. The family here has an elderly cat as well, Princess. She is 18 and reminds me so much of Lucy that it sometimes hurts a little bit. Needless to say, I am partial to this cat because of who she represents for me. Not to mention she is also a sweetheart and is one of the nicest cat's I've ever met. So, for those of you who have cats, you'll get this. They're picky. Lucy would lay in random places all around the house: In a corner, on the counter, on the woof floor. And they all looked fricken uncomfortable. So I would take a blanket or buy a cat bed and place it where she would lay so she could be more comfortable.... but then she would never lay there again, after I'd gone out of my way to fix up the spot for her. When I saw Princess outside, laying in my discarded Amazon box, I sighed because I knew I would want to put a blanket in the box so that she wasn't resting on just cardboard. She is old and bony and it just makes me sad, but I didn't want too because I knew that the second I fixed it up, she wouldn't want the box anymore. For a whole week she laid in that random box. Finally, I couldn't take it anymore and went out there and just put a blanket in the box. By some freak chance of nature she not only still slept in the box but she laid in it even more than she did before. SUCCESS!!!!!! But then two days ago it rained. And her box was ruined. So I made her a new, water-proof house. ^_^ Awesomeness :
Stuck a new box from Fed-Ex inside a black garbage bag, then put a plank of wood on top to keep the rain off the front.
