Nashira raised a single brow, turning it into a high arch, as she stared down at Talen. "Uncomfortable?" she stated. "No, not at all. Although, you have served to make me feel somewhat misunderstood. You see, my dear, it seems as though you are still far to young to understand certain matters of the mind... of the heart, and of course, of other places..." her lips curled into a small smile as her cheeks took on an added sense of heat. Should she not have such a pink complexion during the daylight hours, Talen may have noticed her blushing. "Or perhaps, you understand them well enough, but are not yet aware of the subtle differences between the courses of action one takes when they are interested in you, or merely, teaching you a lesson. Or rather, stating simple fact."

As the boy lowered himself onto a single knee before her, Nashira's blush deepened. She was thankful then, for her rosy skin, which sparkled in the light. For if she, like many other women, had been forced to face a man in a state of obvious, utter embarrassment, she would not know what to do. Other than perhaps, cut out his tongue so that he could not relay the happenings of the day to another living being. But she doubt the boy would appreciate that, much less she. After all, cutting out someone's tongue always made quite the mess, and then there were the screams for mercy. Those always became tiring after awhile.

When Nashira's brow finally returned to its normal stance, the girl spoke again. "If you wish to leave, then you should have done so already Talen. No need to show respect for someone who you believe has made a fool out of you. Surely, you don't truly respect her... surely doing such a thing won't make either of us feel any better about the other." She paused. "There is no need to stand by a being you can hardly tolerate. One you simply don't seem to understand." With that, she dipped her head forward a little, drawing her chin closer to her chest, as her forehead fell. She held the position for a moment, before walking off down the length of the quay.

OOCI don't know if you just wanted to turn it in now, or write something else. Whatever you want to do is fine by me.

[The Quay] Crossing Blades (Talen)

Postby Talen Stirling on October 27th, 2011, 8:32 pm

Talen moved slowly, a calm pensive everyday expression soon gracing his youthful features instead of what he'd displayed earlier. He eyed her curiously, she seemed less judgemental and mocking than before, but he'd already lost faith in his ability to read her intentions. Besides, her almost lecturing way of speaking was aggravating. What gave her the right to call him boy, and doubt him so. By the looks of her she was scarcely much older than he, although it was difficult to tell. The same beauty that blinded him earlier lied seductively about the age of the woman before him, and what experience she had.

Grasping his sword with a faint smile he got up and stood for a moment in stoic silence, listening to her explanation, before he walked to his shield hesitantly. She seemed perhaps not apologetic, but assumed that he was outright hateful. Part of him wanted to forgive, to tell her that he felt no such dire animosity towards her. If he had misunderstood her intentions that was his own undoing, and far from a problem significant enough to warrant hatred.

"I can tolerate you.." He murmurred his answer as she looked down and turned around, just barely loud enough for her ears to catch. He reached down and picked up his shield swiftly, a sudden realisation of how much in a hurry he were hitting him. He was still on duty, and the weight of the shield felt like responsability once again clinging onto him. He would be late, and the image of Lieutenant Marx ordering him to empty the barracks latrine haunted him cruelly.

He flung the shield onto his back with a familiar movement and tied up the leather strap that would keep it there as he started running, using his weight to accelerate into a sprint. He silently cursed himself once again, for being so easily enthralled by the spell of a beautiful woman.
