As Runas said that Seven was a very interesting person, Lucas made a face. It was obvious to all that were watching that he didn’t like to hear that one bit. He wanted Runas to find him interesting, but now he was forced to wonder if she had a weakness for effeminate men. Even though he was short and somewhat skinny, Lucas unfortunately didn’t look like a girl at all. He was relieved when she turned to look at him and adressed him again. Maybe her comment about Seven being interesting had just been some weird kind of joke? „No, it’s not polite“, he agreed. He wanted to make a good impression on the Eypharian, and thus he agreed with her in everything. „And I was talking about lutes, not living beings“, he informed her. „If it doesn’t have a beating heart and doesn’t breathe, it’s a thing. Humans aren’t things. Eypharians aren’t either. And people like Seven aren’t things either. I would very much prefer it if you could call me a human being, Tawna.“ His tone softened a little as well because she had smiled at him. He couldn’t be offended when she smiled. As Seven insisted that his name was only a number in Common, Lucas turned around. „So what does your name mean in your language?“ he wanted to know – and secretly wondered what his name meant in Lhavitian or whatever the halfblood’s language was. Gods, he hoped that it wasn’t an insult! That would really suck! He’d have to change his name! He turned to face Runas again because he liked looking at her better. „Your name isn’t strange at all“, he said to her and gave her the same kind of radiant smile she had just given him. As Runas and Seven started talking about the gods, he began to pluck the strings of his lute because the conversation bored him. He wasn’t particularly interested in religion, apart from three gods. „No, I don’t worship Rhaus“, he informed Seven, and his face turned a little red. „And I’m still better than you. I pray to Tyveth – because I’m going to be a knight – and to Kelwyn, at least sometimes.“ Having said that, he wondered if he should leave now or wait until Runas‘ harp was done so that he could go somewhere with her. Seven was getting on his nerves, but on the other hand he really enjoyed the Eypharian’s company. |
